I first went to Performance Guitar when I was a teenager back in the early 1980s. They were on Yucca Street in Hollywood at the time. Even back then, Kenny already had big name clients like Frank Zappa, Steve Vai, and Warren De Martini. Later, he would do custom work for Joe Walsh and Warren Cuccurullo, among many others. In 2021, I brought in my Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster for a setup and fret dress and my Fender American Fretless Jazz Bass for its first setup. Kenny did a great job with both guitars. His attention to detail is unmatched. There is nobody else who works on Fenders like Kenny. He worked alongside Leo Fender at Fender for many years back in the day, so he knows his stuff. Nice little guitar shop. The people are super nice. Mark personally handled my repair, and was constantly communicative and clear about pricing and how he intended to fix my guitar. He was also very honest and realistic about the time-frame for the job. The repair was done far better than expected, at a reasonable price. Mark wasn't there when I picked up, but the man who was there that day was extremely nice, and went above and beyond with little things, like helping me blow dust off and clean my old guitar case. I always thought that only famous people went there and I always tried to find someone to do quick jobs on my guitars for a cheap price but I realize now that I should have gone to Performance from the beginning! They will make your guitar perfect! Kenny and Mark are highly experienced and can instantly tell exactly what's wrong with your guitar and fix it properly the first time. So many people in the past have made mistakes on my guitars, or messed up the wiring, or done unnecessary work that didn't fix the actual problem. As soon as I took my first guitar to Performance Guitar and saw what an AMAZING job that they did...I took all my guitars to them to be fixed. And you will too! The price is fair. Sometimes they find other things wrong with my guitars as they get into the job and I appreciate that they have the expertise to fix those things. I have been going to Kenny and the gang since 2001 and he is the only place I will take all my guitars to. He can do anything and used to work at Fender. They also build their own guitars so if you want factory work on an older guitar this is the place to go. Everyone is very friendly and to me he's the best coast to coast. read more

Whenever you need your guitar repaired, watch out for this guy Kenny! He does great work But he must be going through some hard times now! I purchased two PG-50 pick-ups for my Les Paul. They had make these here with 15% more wire than PAF's, so a more aggressive, tone harmonics and crunch. They are awesome sounding! read more

I am warning you about this company, the worst service and workmanship I have ever received ever. I took my guitar to them to have them work on it and every couple of days they called me and increased the price. It started out at $225.00 and was $1100.00 by the end of my interaction with them. When the work was finally finished they botched the job. The guitar would not stay in tune, the strings were buzzing all over the neck and the strings were really high. And it was a brand new $2000.00 guitar. When I took it back to have them fix what they did the owner wanted to charge me $600.00 more to fix the guitar, bringing the total to $1100.00 with tax to make the guitar playable. The owner told me because the guitar was not made in Japan it was junk. And kept telling how they make guitars to famous players implying because I am not famous I would not receive the same service. They totaly lied to me and mess up a very great guitar that I now have to spend even more money to fix. I can not even give them a letter for a grade, if I had to it would be F-------. read more
