This location recently opened up near our house. The last business that was here didn't last more than 2 months so we were very hopeful. Ever since this location opened its doors it has been slammed. By slammed I mean never any available parking. Today we saw five cars in the parking lot(the least we have seen. It was early) and figured we should give it a try. My wife ordered a double espresso and I ordered a drip coffee with a shot of expression and a honeycomb. The drinks were lovely! Great flavor at a reasonable price point. The star of the show was the honeycomb. I should make it very clear it is a dessert before I attempt to explain it. It tasted like a rosemary focaccia with little cream cheese balls symmetrically placed throughout. This was topped with two types of sesame seeds and honey drizzle. It pains me to write this review, because I really, really enjoyed Percent Coffee in the past. However, I will no longer be giving them my business because of some dishonest practices that have come to my attention today. I ordered an iced pistachio latte with whole milk today, which was priced at $7. I was charged $8.60--even after tax, the math doesn't check out. When I asked about the price discrepancy, I was told that the item's price had increased, but the menu on display was not updated to reflect the new price. I told the employee that I still wanted the drink, but that this was extremely misleading and unacceptable for a business to do. She agreed with me, but also said that the price was "only an extra dollar." That in itself was an unacceptable remark to make to a customer, but it's also a 14% increase in price. That isn't insignificant. I was offered a refund on the one dollar lol but made a point not to take it. I paid the full $8.60 to drive home the fact that it isn't about the dollar. It's about the dishonesty of management to hope that their customers won't notice that they are being charged more than what they believe they are paying. However, now looking at Michigan law, I apparently am entitled to a refund because this behavior was illegal on the shop's part. There was no disclaimer about an outdated menu, and I had to point out the price discrepancy myself. And being told "it's only an extra dollar" as if I was upset about the money and not the blatant dishonesty was absolutely ridiculous. How many other trusting customers did they get away with overcharging? This is literally illegal to do. Anyway, this experience really upset me, especially since I was a returning customer and have always been really satisfied with them prior to this. In fact, I think I might go back and ask for the refund that I am legally entitled to. I encourage everyone who has recently purchased from them to double check their receipts. I had the pleasure of stopping here today for a business meeting. The location was convenient and near a number of my clients in the Troy area. The location had plenty of seating, and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. While there I had a croissant and a large drip coffee. One cool thing is that they offer everything that you consume there in reusable nice glassware. The staff brought it to our table, and it was all very fresh and enjoyable. While I know % is a chain and one that I've only seen in a handful of places, this is WAY better than your local Starbucks. You should come and give it a try. read more

I am a self-described coffee snob. I have never had a cup of coffee as delicious as those made for me at Percent! Inclusive of Cafe Floria in Venice Italy that was the first 'coffee house' and supposedly invented the cappuccino. My first visit there I met the sister of the owner, who like the rest of the staff provided excellent service. Unlike Starbucks (the coffee beans are sweet) or Pete's (the brew always has a bitter after taste) or even Coffee Bean and Green Tea (no boldness) PERCENT COFFEE WAS RICH, HAD DEPTH, NO BITTERNESS, AND WAS SMOOTH! I got my latte there everyday I was in town. The cafe is bright and friendly and I never saw it empty! Lots of folks enjoying and working.... I would rate this #1 One Extra note: there is a discount for cash, so make sure you are aware that the cash price will come up first, then the credit card price. So don't think you are being overcharged, businesses need to re-coop those fees read more

Don't sleep on Percent Coffee! Honestly, they have the kindest service, delicious coffee, a clean and inviting space. We brought our toddler and they were so accommodating and lovely, even as he took up space. They had lots of seating options including cozy booths. The service was very slow. It seems like the staff wasn't trained well. We waited 20-30 minutes, after ordering, to get two coffee drinks. My drink was made incorrectly (iced instead of hot). My whole family was so excited for this coffee shop to opened in our neighborhood, we went in multiple times and ordered many things including coffee, cold drinks, and treats. The coffee has a nice taste, so much better than Starbucks, cakes and treats might be tasty except they are laced with cleaning chemicals! The coffee shop itself has a nice, fresh design however, it reeks of cleaning solution! It doesn't have the desired, welcoming aroma of coffee at all but more of a detergent isle at Walmart. I can not tolerate to sit inside because of the smell which gives me a headache, I order from a drive through instead and never order any treats since each time I did they ended up in trash do to the taste of cleaning product.
