The only caveat is that the pizza could use a little more time in the oven to add that nice crunch to the bottom of the pie. Also, I personally got the 4 Cheese White Pizza primarily because I wanted White Pizza. It was way too cheesy for me and I was actually pulling the cheese off But I love bread and doughy pizza. I'll definitely be giving this place another try and getting the Mushroom Ricotta Pizza next time

Gainesville has a new pizza place! Bring on the parade!…read more So I went here recently to try them out... I waited until after they had gotten through at least some of their initial opening problems that always seem to crop up with a freshly opened restaurant. It is located in what used to be Gainesville's best ice cream parlor (which in turn was previously a Starbucks before they moved down the road and became Gainesville's biggest traffic problem for 13th). Given this pedigree, I had high hopes. Sadly, I don't think they are going to last. Entering, the place is decorated decently. Figuring out how the place works takes a couple seconds of standing there and looking around, but eventually it becomes clear that they will either do counter ordering or you can order through electronic kiosks. I went with the kiosk since there was a family in front of me that was ordering at the counter. Looking through the menu, I found that they have only one size of pizza, the 11". This is fine if you are one or two people, but if you are a family you are going to be ordering more than one. This is kind of the reason why I think they are doomed. While the pizza toppings are the full variety, the fact that you only have one choice in size and that is the only thing on the menu for food (no wings, no breadsticks, etc. All they have is pizza) means that your choices are fairly narrow. Combine that with being located a fair distance from the university campus, which means that the clientele are coming in from the suburbs, and this appears to me to be a recipe for disaster. Don't get me wrong... the pizza is good. The problem here is not the quality of the product, nor the staffing or even the decor. The problem is a combination of the lack of variety combined with proximity to a customer base that will support a single-product enterprise. If they were located on University Ave across the street from UF, they might have a chance assuming they could balance their sales against the cost of a lease along there, or if they offered a wider variety of food options at their current location, I think they could make a proper go of it, but as it stands now, I (sadly) am expecting to see something new in that location in a year or two.

I found this spot on Yelp while craving a true giant NY style pizza, and even though it had minimal…read morereviews, we had to check it out. For reference, I have had NY pizza in NYC, so I am a tough judge First off, we went on a Friday night and downtown was absolutely crazy. Definitely college season energy. They only have a pickup window, so parking can be a challenge. Pro tip, have one person hop out while the other drives around the block. It made things much easier for us. When I walked up, the staff was super friendly. We chatted about how we moved here from Massachusetts almost two years ago but had never ventured this far downtown before. I really enjoyed the vibe of the area. They do accept cards, and I updated the pricing here to reflect current costs. Now for the pizza. We are always on the hunt for those monster size pies, and this 20 inch pizza did not disappoint. The box barely fit in our truck which gave us a good laugh. We got it home and between us and our teenager, the whole thing was gone. The taste was fantastic and honestly reminded me of one of those little spots in Times Square. There was very minimal grease and none of that heavy heartburn sauce we always joke about. Overall, highly recommend. Our whole pizza was ready in about 10 minutes which was impressive. If you are in the area, even grabbing a slice might just hit that perfect comfort food spot.

This hole-in-the-wall spot has retained its usual charm and flavor despite exploding with popularity! If you want a slice for lunch, a slice post club, a slice because you're hungry, a slice because you're bored - Italian gator is always the answer. Their thin, crispy pizza slices have won hearts over so many years and their absolutely delicious pizza flavor has remained the same through it all! They keep their menu simple with a cheese or pepperoni slice, but both are the most incredible slices of pizza I've ever tasted! If you're ever in Gainesville for any reason, plsssss do yourself a favor and stop by for the best slice Florida has to offer! Usually we have been complaining about how lately the calamari isn't quality and quantity as it has been in the past. However, this order did not have any complaints from us. The calamari was crispy, fresh, and they gave us a great portion like they previously had in the past. The calamari pieces were huge but so good. The BBQ chicken pizza is my favorite as they use gouda cheese. The veggie pizza was good as well, I only had a slice as my dad devoured the majority of the pie, which says something positive. Something about this order was exceptionally good and did not disappoint. Blue Highway definitely restored my faith in them with this take away order.
