A friend of mine who is a regular brought me here for a late Sunday brunch. I got the bangers and eggs special written on the chalkboard right when you walk in. The eggs needed salt and pepper but otherwise it was perfect. A nice change from standard skimpy breakfast sausage, the Bangers really hit the spot. The toast was so thick I would think it was home made. The place was about half full so there was no wait, service was a bit slow but we werent in a hurry and our food came out quickly. We were so excited to try this local treasure after reading the rave reviews. Boy we're we disappointed the inside is filthy and staff was disheveled and the food was NOTHING SPECIAL. I asked the waitress for recommendation and she suggested this breakfast dish that looked like dog food when It was thrown down In front of me. Excellent place. It was the middle of the week, lunchtime, but I was feeling like breakfast. So this place looked like the spot. I had the 222 breakfast with strawberry pancakes...nice fresh strawberries with whipped cream (omg lovely). Had cold brew coffee. Coffee was excellent... I didn't try the nitro cold brew because they said the nitro machine was broken. But the regular cold brew was awesome. My husband had the Italian trio(?) I think that's what it was called...Alfredo linguini, stuffed manicotti and meatballs with garlic toast. He said he really enjoyed it even though the meatballs were a bit heavy on the breading... Odd name for a Greek restaurant, but a solid choice for a hearty breakfast in Henrietta. This place definitely has a strong local following and I can tell why. You get that home town kind of vibe eating here. Everyone is friendly and strikes up a conversation with you. We came in on an early Sunday afternoon. The place was packed with a mix of people ranging from an older after church crowd to some college students. Service was pretty slow, but totally understandable since it was prime time there. I ordered the Irish Benedict ($7.49) and got a side of fruit instead of home fries (+$1.50). The corned beef was tender and the egg was nicely poached. Only thing I was disappointed about was the amount of fruit I got with the fruit cup. My friend ordered the mushroom & swiss omelet ($6.39). The omelet was cooked properly, nice and fluffy like it should be! Home fries were a little under seasoned. The sourdough bread that came with the omelet was thick, lightly toasted and absolutely addicting. I am curious to know where they get it because it was delicious! The menu here is very basic but I love that they use mason jars. For some reason, your drinks are always more appealing in them! I would say Peppermints is comparable to Jines on Park Ave, but with more of a basic menu. If you're looking for breakfast in the Henrietta area, skip the crap at Denny's and come here to support a friendly local business! read more

I had the pleasure of coming to Peppermint's for the first time this past weekend, and it was an awesome diner for breakfast. We popped in at 10 a.m. on a Sunday, and were immediately seated by a friendly hostess. Our server George was amazing, attentive, and extremely prompt. He even noticed that I used Hazelnut creamer and went into the back to put more of them in the basket in case I wanted a coffee refill. If you order a juice, it comes in a good sized glass, not a dinky 8 oz one. The coffee was pretty good too. Another customer took some to go after their meal and the staff had no problem giving him a to go cup with some free of charge. The Smorgasborg Omlette came with andouille sausages, bacon, shrooms, peppers and cheese. There was a choice of toast on the side, as well as hashbrowns or home fries. The hashbrowns were awesome! Michael had the special of the sausage, biscuits and gravy. Along with that special, it came with eggs of your choice. The biscuits were thick, and soft at the same time. Good food, great service! Our waitress was great, incredibly happy and attentive. The food was average diner food with average diner prices, nothing mind-blowing or interesting. They had a separate "specials" menu with some more adventurous box dishes, which was cool. I like to see diners mix things up and expand from the "same old, same old". They had all kinds of teas and smoothies, which again shows some initiative to be different than your "typical diner". Party of 4 I got the moussaka. Great flavor, just not thoroughly heated. I don't mind that it's made in the morning and warmed up, it just needed to be hot throughout. They made every attempt to remedy, but really, too little too late. Wife and daughter were happy with their respective gyro and cheeseburger. No complaints. Son was happy with the flavor of his cheeseburger, just not the bun, which he said was wet. Wife said it's probably because they're fresh. Could be; idk. Whatever. I'm just not likely to steer towards this place when I'm in Henrietta. I'm not going avoid it if a party I'm with wants to go, but it won't be top of my list. read more

Underwhelming. When we first walked in, everything looked very promising. There was no wait even though it looked pretty busy, food looked good, comfy booths. We sat down, he ordered his usual coffee and juice for me. Took 20 minutes to get creamer for his coffee. When the food came, one of my eggs on my eggs Benedict was broken already with barely any yolk left inside. When I cut into it there was no glorious yolk leaking out. It was only when I cut into my other egg when I realized how much yolk I was missing. His smorgasbord omelette was disappointing. It seemed like there was a total of 4-5 scrambled eggs burying a sliver of bacon and a rare piece of onion. All the ingredients they promised on the menu were barely in the omelette. I don't know what it was, but I left feeling unsatisfied with my brunch. The eggs Benedict was alright at best, and the omelette he got was just meh. Come to Rochester every year around this time for the Last 7 years and never been to this place. Sen it again on my way to McDonald's and decided to give them a try. The hostess / waitress was a early morning friendly. Like a welcome southern hospitality but only up north. The decor is of a classy diner feel. As I got here about 7:10a. The people were constantly rowing in. I decided on the 222 breakfast. 2 pancake, 2 eggs (over med for me)2sausage and 2strips of bacon. The pancakes were better than the famous blue building place pancakes. Priced pretty much the same as the competitors. But the friendliness of the staff and cooking of the cook wins this establishment 4 stars. Glad I did not pass this by another year. Much better then going to the double arch place. read more

Our waitress was very friendly & quick. The prices are quite decent for the amount of food served. The spinach & feta omelet came with home fries & toast. The home fries were cooked for a long time as there were crisp potatoes which I love. They were very tasty. The omelet had the right amount of spinach & feta. My wife and I used to be regulars until she was served a piece of meat that should have long been in the garbage. Essentially she was served trash and I don't mean a trash plate, I mean stinky meat that was not good. We live only eight miles away in Scottsville but we had to make an emergency stop at the service area so she could go in through the back gate to use the facilities. This was many years ago but I'll tell you that I would not trust eating dinner there. Breakfast is good, however we were served someone else's food which we did not order so we had the waitress remove it. Haven't been back since. About five years I would say, maybe more. The service was fast, but there were no smiles and we felt rushed when she brought the check within a few min after bringing the food. Felt alienated by the waitress the whole time even though were young & friendly people. The Greek Omelet was okay at best with minimal flavor, and the potato hash was tasteless. Went there yesterday w my 2 granddaughters and very disappointed!! Waitress never asked which chichi I wanted in my buffalo mac, cheese ( grilled or fried) when I got it the whole meal was dried out. Peppermints is your average diner. The service is good, the food is filling and the portion sizes are hefty. I enjoy their cinnamon bread with the glaze. It's about the size of a pancake so it's enough to be a main dish if you add on a protein. They have some Greek options on their menu and they have a nice selection of desserts. read more

This place was like the reviews said! My waitress was extremely nice and cordial and refilled my coffee without even me asking. I ordered a side do fries and chicken parmesan pasta which was pretty good. The only thing I would say with the pasta was the linguine was colder than the chicken and tomato sauce and I kind of wish there was more sauce. Stopped here on the way home. It got some good reviews and seemed decent in terms of price. I ordered the burger messy plate. It was very good! My boyfriend ordered the pot roast dinner and he liked it a lot too. The service was super fast and the waitress was very very good. For dessert we ordered the strawberry ruhbarb pie and carrot cake. They were absolutely delicious. I would certainly recommend this place. The only things I would say... there were many open tables when we were there but we got seated at a booth with a huge crack right in the middle of the table. It just kind of was like.... why?? This is your typical Greek "family" restaurant. Strong on breakfast and lunch, with a clean quick and varied menu. Of course there are omelettes and waffles and pancakes and home fries, and sandwiches, including Gyro and marinated chicken and tasty homemade sides. I tried Peppermints for the first time a couple months ago. I was very pleased. The dining area is large and very open, and there is a lot of natural light that comes through the windows in the front. We were greeted and seated very promptly. We had George as our waiter, and he was very polite and attentive. He was checking in on us regularly and made sure we wanted for nothing. The food came out quick, and it was very good. The prices are very reasonable, too. I love sausage gravy and biscuits, and thankfully I was in luck that they had it as a breakfast special that day. Most places only give you one dinky biscuit, but Peppermints gave me 2 thick biscuits with a good helping of gravy and 2 eggs. I have never seen eggs as a part of the biscuits and gravy dish before. I was in heaven. Sadly, I have not been back since that first time. But after writing this review, I realized that I need to go again. In Rochester, NY this week for work and stopped here for breakfast based on the Yelp reviews. I had the skillet breakfast, add jalapenos. It was was very good. My only suggestion would be to use real jalapenos rather than pickled jalapenos but other than that it was good. This is an old school, family-owned Diner and the employees were friendly. I've only been in Rochester for less than 24 hours but so far everything's been crazy nice. In any event, I found the staff here very friendly. Since the owner requested that we come back and give it another try, we did. My wife and I had breakfast last weekend. I must say that it was a redeeming visit.
