I've been a fan of Pepper Lunch since the first time I had it in Hong Kong many years ago, so I was thrilled to see one open up at the Spectrum. Food quality and taste is just as good as I remember it. Came in on Saturday for lunch and the place was pretty busy, but that didn't stop the staff from making sure that I was well taken care of. Big thank you to Khaya and Nate for consistently checking in and making sure I was good. Had a great experience and will be back soon! read more

I'm happy there's another Pepper Lunch location in Irvine, but the service here is definitely not as good as the Jamboree location. There is also very limited seating which is problematic at busy times. They don't assign you to a table, so more than once I've been given my number but not had a table to sit at. read more

We food was delicious, was my first time and am definitely coming back. We were served by Ashley and Amy who were absolutely amazing. read more

Had a great time at pepper lunch for dinner--food was yummy and my order was accurate! Masami and Mel were very attentive and helpful.

The food tasted only like black pepper. I don't think this is a place worth visiting if you're expecting a proper meal.

I went in a 3 days ago and it was super delicious! Me and my fiancé ordered the sizzling curry to try it out and it was amazing. Khaya was here this time again and did a great job. He always has a smile on his face and a nice attitude which is something all customer I am sure appreciate! read more

Loved the food, super tasty. Service is pretty chill. Prices are a bit high but thats irvine.

You can grill the meat exactly how you want. The pasta was good too. The sizzling plate really whet your appetite. Service was great.

It's okay, but overpriced for the quality of food, and when I went they over greased the skillets, leaves an unsettling feeling after you eat. Even though one person in our table ordered a bigger portion, it looked exactly like the rest of the smaller portions that was ordered. They have kiosks for you to order, and water cups left at the counter for you to grab. Overall an okay experience. read more

Service was great! Tyler absolutely killed it and brought us a high chair before we could even ask for one. Tyler made the experience a 11/10. read more

I went here soon after its opening. The food wasn't very good, and it was too oily (enough to gather at the bottom and create a puddle), and extremely noticeable problem when compared to the one in diamond jamboree. BUT IM GLAD TO SAY THAYS NO LONGER A PROBLEM! The food is great now, just as good as the one in diamond jamboree. Service is about what you would expect, not much, but it's fine for a restaurant like this. In terms of ambience, it really depends on when you go. The spectrum can get really busy, in which case the ambience is loud, crowded, and pretty unpleasant as the restaurant opens to the outdoors. But, on more quiet times, it's pretty peaceful. read more

Tiffany and Ferhat had amazing customer service and helped us get settled during the lunch rush today.

I recently came here for a date and it was such a wonderful experience! The food was amazing I had the Angus Ribeye Steak and Creamy Shrimp pasta. The Angus Ribeye was tender and juicy. The Creamy Shrimp Pasta was rich, savory, and packed with shrimp. The sauce was perfectly balanced! What really stood out was the customer service. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, they checked in to make sure everything was just right. Shout out to Rob, Tung, Ferhat & Melissa! Even during a busy time, they kept a great attitude and made us feel genuinely welcomed. You can tell they care about the customer experience. 100/10 great spot! read more

i love pepper lunch. its fun & you can never complain about your food being cold. i have never had issues with the service & i like adding the curry sauce to my salmon pepper rice because its so unique. however my only complaint for all locations is the cost of add-ons. charging $2 to add each topping is insane. I paid $2 for essentially one cut up baby carrot. the egg, maybe I get. but if someone wants to have different vegetables with their protein pepper rice, you can easily end up with a $30 dish. last time we even joked about bringing our own frozen veggie medley that you can get at target for $2 just to get something healthy in. it would be nice to have a more cost effective alternative to adding a variety of veggies to the pepper rice. read more

Great flavor and exciting performance from the sizzling beef curry. The taste was rich and satisfying, though a bit more beef in the portion would have made it perfect. Service was friendly and the ambiance was simple and casual--nothing fancy, but comfortable. Overall, a solid choice and a good experience for a first-time visit. read more

The portion size here is definitely worth it for the price! It tastes great too, not salty, very customizable dishes, great for picky eaters. The service was great, the food came fast and everyone was very attentive, esp Reggie and Nate who kept coming back to our table attending to our needs. The place is very casual but not too noisy. Definitely coming back! read more

Came to Pepper Lunch hungry and left emotionally fulfilled. Huge shoutout to Chase, who was both our cashier and server and absolutely crushed it. From the moment we ordered, Chase was friendly, on point, and clearly knew what he was doing. The food came out ridiculously fast. Like did they teleport this to the table fast. And not fast in a rushed way, fast and actually really good. Everything was hot, flavorful, and sizzling exactly how Pepper Lunch should be. Chase kept everything running smoothly, answered questions, and checked in to make sure we were good the whole time. Service like that honestly makes the meal hit harder. If you come here, hope you get Chase because he will take care of you and get you fed ASAP. read more

Shout-out to T and to Cara! We came by a couple of weeks ago and again, the folks at Pepper Lunch saw us juggling our young children and did their utmost to help us be comfortable. Extra bowls and plastic spoons for the kids, cups of waters, they read our minds before I could ask. Thanks so much you guys, you guys make it easy and make us feel so welcome with young kids. read more

I was excited to see Pepper Lunch opened near me. I haven't been to Pepper Lunch in Diamond Jamboree forever, because parking there is always a chaos. The new location in Irvine Spectrum is near Javier and the movie theater. I came on a rainy night, and there was a short line. The waiter will show you your seat and then you order at the counter. I got the beef pepper plate and added an egg. Food came quickly and it was good, as I remembered. However I noticed that the portion was smaller and not much beef was given (compared to their photos). Inflation for sure. Overall a nice place for a quick easy meal. read more

Visited here a few weeks ago on my trip back from San Diego with my bridal party! Pepper Lunch never disappoints The food was amazing as usual (I always go with the classic beef pepper lunch) and the entire restaurant was very clean and organized. Our server, Ace, was extremely helpful and constantly came back to check on our table. Amazing service and it made our experience go so smoothly. Will definitely be back soon! read more

This is a fun addition to the Irvine Spectrum. This was my first time trying Pepper Lunch so I tried the beef kimchi pepper rice. It was really good. The plate comes out sizzling and stays hot from the first bite to the last bite. Make sure to add some of the garlic sauce that comes on the table. So good. I will be back. read more

Food is awesome. If you're in the mood for good quality meat with pepper seasoning with rice and corn, then this is your spot. Just very pricey. read more

Summary: Must try but you need to know what to order I am a sucker for food arriving sizzling to your table and this is one of the places to try for that experience. This place is a fast casual in that you go to kiosk to order what you want, then add toppings and which drink you want. You then pick up your pager and pick a table to go sit. They will bring your food and ask if you want water. Be aware that the plates are hot so be mindful if you want to touch the place. Prices are pretty fair for the location and it is a nice sit down place with nice heat lamps to keep you warm on a cold night. I got to try this place twice and didn't want to write this review until I got a better understanding the appeal of this place. I recommend for first go try their Beef Pepper Rice. It essentially thinly sliced beef surrounding rice. It comes piping hot and still sizzling to your table. The beef will need to be turned over to ensure that all parts are cooked and don't touch the rice. If you like that crunchy rice texture you have to leave it to make it crispy otherwise go ahead and mix the rice). If you like that, then the next time you can upgrade the way you like it. Want more beef? They have an option for that. You want corn or cheese another option for that. Want curry or salad? There is an option for that. On my second visit I also got to try the premium option of Ribeye. It was great except that the rice is served on the side(which unfortunately for me, means not crispy rice). Also you want the steak to be more grilled, the servers are more than willing to grill it to your liking in the back. Also you will get two sauce option on the table to try. Try both by sprinkling a little on your meat and try. I also got to try Strawberry Dragonfruit which was not overly sweet and goes well with my savory dish. One of the key things that I love about this location is that the team is always checking on us. To the point that service here was a lot better than some more full service restaurants. They checked if the food was to our liking (thus I learn they can grill the meat for us) and even later checked how we were doing. Shoutout to Acelin for taking the time and patience to explain everything to us and also to the team who worked together to make our experience a fun and relaxing time. read more
