Everything MUST improve!! Extremely unprofessional!! Exorbitant prices!!! No skill!! They remove plastic from the undercarriage, lose the bolts, and reattach with zip ties!! Replace battery, come back in 2 weeks to replace tires, they say I need another battery so they end up replacing their own battery from 2 weeks prior!! Get this they try to charge me $200 more than the $385 they charged for the original battery from 2 weeks earlier!! When I don't fall for that they still try to charge me for labor!!! Had my wife take my Corvette in to Pep Boys, Sanford, for oil change. The car has 4,165 miles and the manager, Justin, tried to up-sell her by telling her the housing for the oil filter was "saturated with oil". Very alarming! So I went in personally to look at the issue. As it turned out, there was a very slight amount of oil in the filter that likely dripped on it when the filter was changed. When I confronted the manager, he became very rude, threatening to push the car out into the parking lot with no oil in it and leave it there. read more

Last week I had a tire repaired at Pep Boys in Sanford (near BJ's). They told me I needed over $1000 in repairs to my brakes (see attached). This morning I went to Boulevard Tire in Deland for a second opinion and was told there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG with my brakes. I'll NEVER do business with the "Boys" again. read more

I used to love this location. Everyone was nice and helpful. Now whoever is running it is not doing a good job. First issue, took car in for oil change and asked that they listen for a sound and see what it was (by appt). Never got looked at, kept it overnight, and still didn't get oil changed. Had to go somewhere else. Next, oil change on another vehicle, didn't tighten the filter, caused oil leak. Sisters car taken to see why new tire leaks air, saw them take car back, came back 30+ minutes later and asked if they knew anything guy rudely says they "just took it back" and wouldn't even check on it. Drove 10 minutes home for them to say it was now done. Another time one guy quotes a price, when we go in another says it's a lot more. I am done hoping it will get better and wouldn't trust them to do anything again. read more

This was the worse service ever. I took my car to Pep boys to have a light bulb put in and windshield wipers replaced. They tried to tell me my entire headlight needed to be replaced costing over $1000 and a light bulb would not fix the issue. They also broke my headlight dust covers and other parts. Took pictures after damaging it, in an attempt to say it was already that way. Left the broken parts sitting inside my hood and some parts fell down to the lower part of my car. Called to speak to the "manager" who I don't believe it was the manager. He also claimed it was already damaged. The reason why I know it was not that way, I was just under my hood getting leaves out from the traps. All parts were in tact. Never will I take my car to this deceitful place again. My boyfriend was able to put the headlight bulb in that Pep Boys claimed couldn't be done without any problems. read more

I went couple of years to this place (with appointment) taking my own oil and filter, previously purchased and no issues with them at all. Now I did the same exactly thing, the only difference when I got there with my appointment, the guy with glasses and mustache asked me if I will wait for my car on the place, I said "yes" and I added that I got my own oil and filter, immediately he said it will be almost 3 hours wait (with appointment). I got an alignment done with the pep boys in Sanford, FL. I was told that I had to replace my rear eccentric bolt, and recommend me to buy two of them. I was told that if I got the bolts, they could finish my full alignment. And they could put those bolts in there for me. I had trouble locating that part and even asked the dealership about it and they could not help me find the part. I come back the next day and they tell me that they don't know what that part is and they never heard of it. Also they say they can't do it for me if I get it myself after they said they will do it for me the day before. I WILL NEVER GO TO PEP BOYS AGAIN. I WOULD ALSO RECOMMEND THAT NOBODY GO THERE. They just hire crap driveway mechanics that don't know shit. read more

Came in all flustered with a nail in my tire. Welcome to driving on I-4 (a.k.a. Fury Road). The guys in here were super helpful they had a good chuckle at me telling them I had a "tire in my nail", I meant to say "nail in my tire". Long story short, they fixed the issue and they gave me the best discount you could imagine for fixing an easy tire repair. They did it all on Saturday and they worked me in, in between having a full schedule. Really appreciated the help I received here and would definitely come back for a longer tire service. read more

It was my first time at Pep Boys and I had my appointment for 10 in the morning for normal Oil change. Nothing big. I dropped off my vehicle at 10:15 and said that i would collect it in the evening. Reception guy promised that it would be done by noon. However, in the evening 5 PM, I receive a call that "Sorry, we were not able to complete oil change today. Would you like to take vehicle and come tomorrow or let it sit overnight and collect it tomorrow evening." Wow.. I understand that you guys might be busy but plain Oil change ask is no big thing and at most takes like 15-20 mins. I am done with Pep Boys. Thanks for letting me park my car whole day for nothing. read more

My first visit was bad experience and later I went back the other Manager Philips is very friendly and nice. I got free oil change coupon as their mechanic forgot to keep the cap and he did Freon tapping as well for next visit. I was not happy for what they did other day but with the response of other manager Philips I am overwhelmed for whatever he did. He is very nice guy and answered all my questions. Great service. As I was driving to work my low tire indicator came on and I knew that if I didn't get it fixed right then it would be flat by 10:00 PM. Unfortunately I don't have a name for a specific review, that said, the service was so bad I'm doing a review anyway. We had to have a battery replaced and made an appointment online. The man at the service desk was so rude it boggles the mind how he can be in a customer service job. 1) apparently the online appointment system and inventory system don't work and that is the customers fault. 2) When I asked how long it would be, he said it would be three hours, when I said " oh wow, I don't know if that will work for me" he shrugged and said "huh, oh well" 3) when I said I might have to reschedule he went into a tirade about only having one guy to do the work. Again, that's not the customers fault. There were many more rude comments and lots of huffing and puffing but I'm sure you get the gist of it. We will never use Pep Boys again. If you decide to do business with them be prepared to be treated like gum on the bottom of the guys shoe. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Completely screwed over my mother and her car. New tire was flat within 10 mins of driving off and they switched her original bolt covers with some old rusty ones. On top of that, when we called to resolve the problem, "Steven" just straight up hung up. Definitely never going back and definitely do not recommend to anyone. read more

Great service visit today. I am preparing for a long road trip and needed to get my oil changed and tires rotated. I made an appointment the same day online and that had all of my information in the system. Staff was very friendly, helpful. The total for everything- including synthetic oil was only 53.00. I hate being ripped off. I replaced my own break pads with a you tube video in my driveway. I bought the best pads made and the tools to do the job and spent 1 hr of time with hand tools and spent $65 they were going to charge me $230 for the front then $230 for the rear. Went here this morning for a tire rotation and balance. I was nervous about going anywhere in the area because everywhere has bad reviews. I have to learn to never trust negative reviews as the norm (especially ones like Tim H's that complain about price ($460 for front and rear brakes is actually pretty good when it comes to brake work... at a shop). Anyways, I had an 8am appointment they took the car in promptly and a half hour later I was on my way. I watched them do everything and they took good care and even tightened the lugnuts with a hand wrench (possibly even a torque wrench) which is the proper method instead of using an air wrench to just crank on them. My car is still relatively new with only 5500 miles on it but it rides silky smooth after the balance. I certainly won't hesitate to come back here for simple maintenance items. Lesson learned, don't trust the negative reviews for auto places on Yelp. read more

Took my car in for coolant flush and fluid change and also transmission fluid filter change.Paid almost $250 for the service. Then not even a month later I return home one day from errands to find transmission fluid pouring out the pan. I call and schedule appt for the next morning and watch as the mechanic just goes around the pan tightening all the bolts. They call me over because its still leaking and try to tell me the shift switch seal is bad and that is causing the leak except the leak was coming from the corner of the pan. Well the amount of fluid that poured out the day before was no small leak from some seal. So the next day I take it to another mechanic who informs me that the pan gasket is split probably from over tightening and needs to be replaced. Needless to say I was not bringing it back to Pep Boys as I no longer trusted their mechanics abilities. I tried disputing the charge for the transmission work explaining that I just didn't trust them to repair it correctly but they would rather have another BAD REVIEW instead of a satisfied customer. If you want quality work, fair prices and total customer satisfaction then have all your repairs done by David Johnson Automotive in Orange City, top notch service... read more

took my VW Jetta to pep boys cause my car was stalling, misfiring, every time i went to put gas and turned it back on I had to hold down the gas to keep it running and my check engine light was on. pep boys told me it was my spark plugs, there was carbon in the filter and I needed a tune up.when I went to go to pick up my car, the check engine light was still on and they said that its fine and my car shouldn't misfire or stall. $550 dollars later my check engine light is still on and my car still stalls when I start it up and when I go to put gas. I took it back that very same day and then they proceeded to tell me that I have two different issues from what I had before and that it would be $300 more. I originally told them what the problem was and that the check engine light was on they should have found the REAL issue the first time. IM OUT $550 BUCKS AND I STILL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE!!!!!! read more
