Do not visit this shop it's a scam at best and incompetent at worst! I originally brought my car here for a water pump job because my normal shop was too busy. Mechanic plus replaced the pump and I drove the car for a few months before noticing the coolant leaking and oil leaking. I went to my normal shop for the oil leaking when they told me the pump was leaking again. I got the oil leaks fixed and took it to mechanic plus and the first time they claimed they pressure tested it and it was fine. I brought it back about a month after because the leak was getting worse. I dropped it on Saturday when they were closed and got a call Monday morning saying they replaced the pump again. No way they did that job in a morning. Sure enough the next day it was leaking coolant faster than before. Took it to my main shop and they informed me that the pump was never replaced and that the problem was just a broken clamp above the pump. Not only did mechanic plus lie and claim they warrantied the pump but they probably never looked at the car or they would have seen the broken clamp. Even if your car breaks down in their parking lot tow it somewhere else. read more

The most honest bunch of mechanics you'll ever meet my 20-year-old tundra has been serviced here several times and everything that they did was only work that was absolutely necessary. I made the mistake and took it to another shop that quoted me $3400 for work and when I took it back to Mechanics plus that bill went to about $500. The previous shop said I needed a new air conditioner compressor a new rack and pinion steering. Mechanics plus showed me that I only needed Freon and the rubber boots on the rack and pinion we're torn which is about an $18 rubber piece no reason to take it off and charge $3600 for the work. I highly recommend the honesty of these guys and they're never gonna bill you for something you don't need. All the repairs are never cheap but as long as they're done right and honestly, I don't mind paying. read more

I don't give many if at all five star ratings but Mechanics Plus in casselberry has earned it. my son attends college in Central Florida and each time he has had a mechanical breakdown they have taken care of him. The fear of being over charged was there the first time he went, and they quickly got rid of my fear. They have even suggested no service required a few times. The latest He needed brakes, they could have easily said we needed front and back and I would have paid it, but they said the back had fifty percent left, only the front needed replacement. I've checked all the repairs they have done and all were below the internet stated prices and inline with my neighbor (who fixes most our cars, unless warranty covers). A friend that lived in Orlando recommended them, who they knew when I named dropped, but I haven't dropped the name again, yet they have treated me excellent, let me pay with a credit card over the phone, and my son has gone to college car problem free. What a mind calming thing, to know there is someone that will take care of your kid when you can't. Was there for an inspection/estimate. The mechanic was nice and knowledgeable. However, Scott produced a vague estimate regarding parts that would be used and when i asked for more detail as to what parts they intended to install per the estimate, I was told, "he didn't have time". After obtaining a reading on my car check engine notification of a bad coolant thermostat, looked for mechanic to replace it. An employee of a local Autozone recommended Mechanics Plus, as a shop that was inexpensive and did quality work. Called them at 8 AM was told they had available time and to get it there quickly. They made the repair while I waited. I was out their door by 11 AM. Everything looked fine and has performed as good as new. I definitely recommend them for this kind of repair. Surely not enough time to test drive, put it on a lift, pull the tires, check each caliper, and the system. They don't like working on cars someone else has worked on. I was having overheating problems w/ my car......obviously, no fun! I called Mechanics plus on Monday morning and they told Me to bring it down right away. They were Able to fit. Into the schedule without any problems. They found the problem and resolved. The communication here was great! As soon as they determined what the issue was they called me, gave me the overview and anticipated price for me to decide on a direction. Then they got right to work! It was done quickly. I wasn't able to pick up until after work & they were happy to make arrangements. I paid them via CC, & they had the car outside waiting foe me to pick up even after they had closed. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Finding them was welcomed since the mechanic I've used for years had passed away this past year. I was looking around for a mechanics shop to get my brakes checked. Following the advice on a group page on Facebook, I decided to come here and see what all the good advice was about. This building is located off of 436 right behind a building called Pet Bazzar. Stopped in around 430pm after work and walked in and talked to a Tiffany. She said she wouldn't be able to get someone to do a test drive since it was almost closing and they had to work on other cars. I was ok with this as the next day I was off. I'm here today and the owner, Bill was here and I told him my situation. We took the car for a test drive and he confirmed my diagnosis. Front rotors and pads. I called another mechanics shop in Tampa. The price quotes were about the same. From hearing Bill talk about the issue along the test drive, I can see why many people from the Happenings in Casselberry group page on Facebook have given this business high phrase. He will give you an honest opinion. He won't talk about pricing because he wants you to have a safe riding car. Pricing comes later which was cheaper then a few places around town. The time frame to get the car fixed was about 2 hours which was totally fine. I'll definitely will come back here again for any servicing needed. You should too! read more

We've been with Mechanic's Plus for over twenty five years, our adult kids even use Mechanics Plus. While Bill Allen has retired, the heart and soul of the shop is in the hands of the new owners Brian and Scott. AND they are doing a GREAT JOB. The mechanics and staff are still there and the shop still feels like a trusted friend. My wife's Nissan Cross Cabriolet experienced a catastrophic roof failure. Although they were not able to fix - the car was ultimately totaled, Brian, Scott and team worked to get the roof closed so that it was drivable. And they did it because they cared! Great new owners and a great place for your car. Took my car there about a year ago when I was at 120K miles and wanted to get the radiator fluid, transmission fluid and brake fluid, an oil change and just a good check up since it still had all the original fluids. They overcharged me a bit for a "premium oil change" but getting it all checked out felt good. No mechanical failures were found. Owner dropped me off at my house about a mile or so away and then the hours later when it was ready for pick up I had to walk it back. I always worry about getting ripped off when I take my car to a mechanic and, after confirmation of being scammed by another place (see my other reviews), I took my car to Mechanics Plus. They diagnosed the problem quickly and with fewer problems costing half what the other mechanic said. I take my car here for "trip checks" before long road trips in addition to regular maintenance and always feel safe hitting the road after they've given it the okay. He gives you his cell number, for heaven's sake, so you can call him when your car breaks down. If you drive a rattle-trap wheezing asthmatic death trap like me, it's nice to know that your mechanic's not gonna screw you over. If you live nearby, he'll likely drop you off there while he works on your vehicle so you don't have to wait in the shop for two hours, but in general I'd recommend bringing a friend who can play chauffeur for you instead, and then make them drive you all around town just because. read more

This shop came highly recommended to us when our car started having issues. We had it towed there and the service was timely, they tried to help make things convenient by paying for the towing and adding it to our bill. The only thing that bothers me is that when we were contacted about what the issue was (bad starter), we were quoted $100 for the part (reasonable, average price) and a non-negotiable $60 warranty. A warranty that costs 60% of the parts cost is NOT cool. They said that we couldn't purchase our own and bring it in, fair enough, but don't force a warranty on people, that isn't cool. read more

Mechanics Plus was recommended to me for mechanical work on my Nissan. Unfortunately I reached out to Bill - the Owner of Mechanics Plus - who was rather rude. Bill of Mechanics Plus won't do estimates over the phone, Bill is unable to tell you how long his labor will take (charges $99/hour). Bill will tell you be prepared to leave the car with him and get a rental, he couldn't care less if you have to drive 2 hours to see him. Bill of Mechanics Plus wasn't even interested to know how much Nissan wants for the Part because he gets parts elsewhere. Bill of Mechanics Plus hadn't say where he gets his parts but during our 2 minute conversation I have heard about 10 x NO (I'm not interested in your business) and about 20 x how honest Bill is. Anyway Bill of Mechanics Plus doesn't accept any diagnostics reports from other places but Bill does one himself for $139 . Bill of Mechanics Plus doesn't do appointments either. The only concern of Bill of Mechanics Plus was where I got his phone number, because if I'm shopping around for best price then I'm not his kind of customer - I guess he is right because I don't deal with arrogant unhelpful people who stress 20 times within 2 minutes how honest they are without providing single helpful answer, either. read more

I live in Southwest Orlando, but I come 45 minutes out of my way for good reason: I trust this shop, the employees and shop owner. Their prices are fair and reasonable. One of my repairs, was covered by a one year parts and labor warranty. Seven months later, it turns out the part was defective. I came in, they confirmed it, replaced it AND noticed something else was "not perfect" and replaced that as well. All of this was covered under warranty. Mr. Bill Allen, the owner, goes out of his way to make sure that each client understands why something needs to be done, even taking you out to show you the issue. I've been shown parts of my timing belt, head gasket and fuel pump in an effort to make sure I was comfortable with each repair. In short, they have gone above and beyond and I trust them. Another great job done by Mechanic Plus shop. Got A C work done and the system in my Nissan is old and parts are not easy to find but they came through and didn't rip me off. Brian took the time to explain everything in detail and Steve was patient about getting it right. If you need a shop with integrity and respect for their customers, this is the shop to go to. I have used this repair shop twice in the past two months. The first time was to repair a leaking gas line and the second time was to replace the power steering pump. I've been to Mechanics Plus twice, and had a good experience both times. The first time, I went as an alternative to my usual mechanic, who quoted me a sky-high price for work that needed done. Mechanics Plus did the work for about $200 less, and did it quickly and courteously. The second time was yesterday, when I finally brought my car in to have a rough idle taken care of. I couldn't figure out the cause, but they were able to quickly diagnose it as a bad motor mount. No more vibration. Decided to try Mechanics Plus out since I had recently moved and needed a new car shop closer to work. I did my research and saw some great reviews on them, plus I usually try to avoid the chain shops. I got there right when they opened (at 7am) and was helped immediately. I just needed an oil change, a nail taken out of my tire and hole patched, and my tires rotated. I recently got a new (used) car and didn't know what kind of oil to request but the woman working was very kind and took the time to explain the differences to me. It took about 45 minutes and was very reasonably priced. I'll definitely be going back next time I need any work done. read more

Bill Allen and his crew are nothing short of incredible! What first drew me to the Mechanics Plus family was the amazing work they do in our community to help the homeless in our area. They don't just throw money at the problem, they are out on the streets; meeting, greeting and helping people! Everyone knows how daunting it can be going to a mechanic shop as a single woman. It's no secret that we're "easy prey" to some less than honest businesses. However, I can truly say, nothing can be further from the truth with Mechanics Plus in Casselberry! Bill treats all of his customers as if they were his sister, aunt, daughter, brother cousin and friend. He has a business to run, which he does well; but he doesn't exploit his services. He's honest and fair. He will tell you what you need, but more importantly, he'll tell you what you don't. Recently, I woke up and started my car, only to have it scream louder than a cat walking on hot coals. I was petrified; the screaming sounded expensive. I'm a single mom without a big support system. Bill took my car in right away to look at it. Within 10 minutes, he was sitting down with me explaining with patience, gentleness and detail exactly what was going on. My daughter goes to school in Orlando and needed work on her car's air conditioning. She had another shop look at it and they diagnosed a bad compressor clutch to the tune of over 1000.00. I live in Illinois so I discovered Mechanics Plus on Yelp. Based on great reviews, we called them. Bill got right back to me and said my daughter could drop it off and he could drive her back home. After thoroughly checking it out, they discovered a bad belt that was the culprit. Less than 50.00 to replace! Needless to say, we have found our "go to" shop. It is great to find an honest and fair business with nice people who can be trusted. i might even have my car serviced there when i am visiting my daughter! read more

I've taken a few cars to them for different problems and they have always done great work and been straight forward and pretty reasonably priced. The only thing I don't like is that they aren't opened on weekends but good mechanics usually aren't. read more

Bill was a an awesome & kind guy who fixed my Toyota & Dodge caravan. Both the cars were down almost the same day and he offer me his own Jeep that was something I would never expected from Bill whom I met for the 1 st time. I was amazed by this gesture He did amazing job for both the cars. He fixed the AC in the toyota and the break pads for my dodge caravan on the same day as he knows I need them urgently being without any car. He is reasonable and very good. I would suggest everyone to go to him. I cannot forget to mention Tiffany who is the Receptionist. She was the sweetest person I have met and was very honest and upfront about the total breakup.
