Maitland Tire Company has exhibited every trait you could ever want in a horrible car repair shop: price gouging, telling blatant lies, curtness, misogynistic behavior, incompetence... A 12 volt battery should not cost $473.74. Installing it does not take an hour and a half, as Corey insisted it did (labor was $144). When I questioned the price, I was told by Corey that I could "do it yourself if you don't like it."  This shop also installed after-market tire pressure monitoring sensors to the tune of $599.80. They did not work. This involved a return to the shop where I waited for some time while several employees took the car for a drive and seemed not to understand the issue. They said they would order "genuine" parts and told me to return the following week. I called and was told, "I'm looking at the parts." I drove 45 minutes to bring the car back. And guess what? The parts were never ordered. Ethan quickly ordered them, and later, I was told they wouldn't work. I wasn't paying close attention, but how could they pronounce the effort a failure after 15 minutes and no test drive? Ethan promised I'd get a full refund, but he didn't know how to credit it back to my card. The boss was out of town and I'd have to wait for a refund. He took my mailing address. I finally received the check. Ethan offered 2 free oil changes, but I will never use them because I will never return to this shop. Ever. read more

Actually, zero stars to this organization. While visiting a Maitland friend in early February 2025, my car made subtle sounds similar to a front wheel bearing difficulty. Maitland Tire Company replaced both front hubs (an excessive attempt at a routine repair to one wheel) and charged $866. Two days later, while in the Tampa area, I noticed the same sound that originally brought me to Maitland Tire Company. Differing road surfaces can mask the sound. I am now at home, 1,000 miles away, awaiting a more qualified evaluation. read more

I had a very disappointing experience with Maitland Tire Company. They attempted to fix my car issues using silicon, which is not a proper solution. Over time, they charged me over $6k only to tell me that my car was beyond repair and suggested I sell it. Had the head and intake gaskets replaced at Maitland Tire Company, and my experience was far from satisfactory. They failed to use proper seals and instead used silicone, which is not suitable for such critical repairs. To make matters worse, they did not tighten the bolts for the intake or head covers properly, leading to oil spraying out and burning on the manifold. This not only created a hazardous situation but also left my car in worse condition than before. I had to take my vehicle to a reputable mechanic who identified and fixed the subpar repairs. Now, my car is running smoothly. I strongly advise against using Maitland Tire Company for any significant automotive repairs. All my belts needed to be replaced because Maitland Tire Co. said my car would explode. For almost one year, my car squealed and squeaked from cheap belts, so I had to replace them with reputable products. When I complained they said it's normal and sprayed silicon that made a mess in my engine well and did not resolve the squeaks and squeals. Frustrated, I took my car to a reputable mechanic who identified and fixed all the shoddy simple maintenance repairs. Now, my car is running perfectly fine. I would not recommend Maitland Tire Company for any automotive issues. They seem more interested in milking customers for money than providing quality service. read more

It is sad to see this place going down hill. I have been going here for 10yrs due to the customer service and how close it is. In the last year customer service has gone out the window. Perhaps there has been a change in management (I haven't seen the same Svc. Manager and team i was used to the past few visits). The gentleman there now seems extremely bothered when I have brought my car in for an oil change, tire change or other work. I recently brought my car in and the price for what needed to be done priced like they did not want the job. They are typically a bit higher but not this much and I hadn't mind in the past due to quality of service. I took somewhere else and it was done quickly, responsibly and with amazing customer service and also $1200 less then what I was quoted. I hope Maitland Tire goes back to the quality and friendless that kept me there for 10yrs. read more

I just called to see if they had my tire in stock before I drove there (because I have a flat tire). The man on the phone was rude the second I called. He told me one second he's going to look to see if they're in stock. He didn't mute the call so I heard him talking bad about me for even asking to see if the tires are in stock to his coworkers. I had MTC install new wheels on our Tesla Model X. After installation, the car will not moved and cause a system fault. We ended up towing the car to Tesla service center. There they found the wheels were installed the wrong way causing the rims to scratch against the control arms of the steering system. The wider wheel that was supposed to be on the rear were installed to the front causing the damage. read more

As a young woman, I am constantly getting screwed over in any type of situation where I need my car worked on. That never happens here. They are always so accommodating and very transparent with prices. I've brought my car here many times and they get me in and out quick and will help me out in any way possible. He never once said anything along the lines of 'I'm sorry you had a less than great experience at my store'.. I manage a customer service based business, and it's a pretty basic practice that when a client isn't happy, it doesn't matter who's fault it is, we apologize that their experience was less than perfect. Maybe his guys were just following his example? Anyway, continue reading for my original review. I chose this shop based on their positive Yelp reviews, and since I'm new to Maitland and unfamiliar with shops around here. I brought my car in on a Saturday morning, just as they were opening. I was told it would be about 45 minutes until they got to my car, so I left it with them and walked home. I requested a synthetic oil change and to have my wheels/tires balanced. About an hour later I received a call from the shop saying that my wheel lock key was broken, and that they cannot remove my wheels. I asked how, and they said the last shop that worked on my wheels must have broken it. Sounded like a funny theory, since the only person to touch my wheels in two years was myself, and I only use hand tools to work on my wheels, especially on the wheel locks. Since one of the wheels did not have a lock, I asked them to please balance that one at least. I didn't feel like making the guy uncomfortable by calling him on his lie about my key. Upon picking up my car, I found the key back in my glove box, and it had been thoroughly chewed up by their impact wrench. Now I have three wheels that I cannot remove from my vehicle, which could be a problem if I get a flat. Of course, I need to now purchase a new key. Since I don't have the registration card for the original lock set, I must buy a complete lock set, which run me about $45. All in all, the guy at the desk was friendly and they had my oil change done in a timely manner. The $64 bill plus $45 lock set means I basically paid $110 for an oil change. Based on that, and them not just being honest about a little mistake (that I wouldn't have really cared about), I will not be going back to Maitland Tire for work. Oh well. read more

I'm happy a place like Maitland Tire exists. I recommended all of my friends and colleagues to come here if they need any maintenance done. Customer Service: They're always very friendly and polite. If I have a small issue and my partner had many minor issues with his car, we can always drive up and ask them to look. If it's something small, they try to just help with no charge. It's really an above and beyond customer service from them. Wait Time: I am always early so I can't speak about how long the wait time is for other slots. I'm either the first or second person on Saturdays. I wait at the Starbucks across the street and 30-40 mins later I am on the road. Price: The price is reasonable. We once had to replace all four tires to one of the cars. They helped us shop and compare prices. We were pretty happy with the options. Service: We're always happy with the services provided by the Mechanic(s). The car is well maintained. If they noticed something that needed attention, they give you pros and cons. They tell you what to look at and how to check if what they suggested is necessary or something you can just tolerate. Thet don't try to scare you into fixing things to make more money. read more

We went to him for a second opinion after being quoted a pretty ridiculous price for a right steering knuckle, tie rod, and breaks for a 2013 Toyota Corolla at Magic Mechanic. He opened it up and got right to the source. Even carefully explained what was going on and why. Ron stayed in contact with me and kept me up to date on everything, even if it didn't change much as far as price or maintenance went. What happened to these guys??? I have done business for years with them since Rob the owner (at least he was the owner when I first started doing business with them 20 years ago). I haven't seen him in the shop in a long time. Service had kinda been going down hill for the last few years and I had a poor experience with them about a year ago and said I wouldn't be going back. Well I thought I would give them another chance today. Mistake!!! I called to make sure they had time to do a simple rotate and balance. They said yes so I promptly went to the shop. They said they would get right to me. About 30 mins later they came out and said it wouldn't be much longer. OK I don't mind waiting. 15 mins later they come out and tell me they won't be able to do the work because it's raining outside and the only lift that can accommodate my truck is outside. WTH!?! I wish they would have just told me that to begin with and I would have said OK. But I wasted 45 mins only to have a service tech tell me I needed to come back tomorrow (and she acted like she really didn't care). What poor customer service! I will not be going back. After I had driven away, Cory called and said he was sorry and that he would do the work for free when I came back in. Nice of him to offer but that was my last time going there. I thanked him but let him know I would not be going back. Interestingly enough there were only one two other cars at the shop. I am disappointed that while trying to support local business in my hometown this is the kind of customer service they offer. What a shame. read more

I don't go there to get the lowest price, but rather because I like doing business with them, know them by first name, and they know me. Very old school atmosphere. New to area and needed new tire and stopped by as a drive by on Thursday and close to where I live and was told needed to order tire would be in by 10AM next morning. Showed up and no tire. Not sure what the problem was but I had my day planned and needed tire changed for travel over weekend. Now have to scramble and find another tire shop that can replace tire. Great experience. I just moved to the area had always taken my vehicle to the same mechanic in Nashville so I was nervous to take my vehicle some where new. I knew there were a few things wrong with the car including a power steering fluid leak. Dropped it off Thursday morning, within an hour they called with a list of everything that needed fixing. They had the parts ordered and the car fixed by that afternoon anywhere else it would have been at least a two day job. The price was reasonable as well. The guys were polite easy to talk to. What a bunch of con artists! Trying to rip off a 17 year old kid who earned his own money to pay for the work. Quoted $168, did half the work then called back and increased the price to $320! Not to mention they had no idea what they were doing and had to call another garage (who recommended this place to my son because they were too busy) to find out how to do the work. My son told them not to do the rest of the work and they still tried to charge him $146 for HALF the work. My son called my husband but the service manager refused to speak to him. They "discounted" the price for HALF the work to $135...Pathetic! read more

I got a full synthetic oil change (over $50) and was told it came with an oil filter change; when I checked under the hood afterwards, the same oil filter was still there from the previousmanufacturer service. I know it's the same filter because it has the same dent that it had before I drop the car off. It was most likely a lazy service technician who thought it was too hard to get the filter off so just left it. read more

I went here a couple of months ago to get a quote for some new tires. They were not the low bid. I've heard that they do a good job and the tires are great quality, but I went with someone else. However, a few weeks later, we had a headlight go out. I purchased the light myself from a part store and had the guys at Maitland Tire Co put the new bulb in. They did a great job and it was only $10. The waiting room is pretty funny. You definitely know you are in a mechanic's waiting room with the smell of oil and stained couches. The TV might be older than me, but it works, and they have a pretty good magazine selection. Their location is pretty convenient for us, so we might go back there for other car issues. They all seem very knowledgeable and honest. I would recommend them for car work. I'll have to wait to give them another star when I go back a few times and make sure everything they do is deserving of the "as good as it gets" award. read more

In the last month I've been unlucky with my car, getting a nail in one tire and two weeks later having issues with my battery. Both times I went to Maitland Tire Co and they were not only able to help me right away, but get everything fixed within 20-30 minutes with excellent customer service. Checked Yelp before heading over here to get an oil change. Like all the other reviews state, the people were very friendly, and the waiting room was pretty cozy. I didn't have to wait long at all. I asked for 4 new tires , balanced and an oil changed. Well tires are not correctly balance and after I left I realized I have no oil in my engine. I call the shop they came to me brought oil , put oil in. So the car was back to the station , in fact old oil filter in place oil was not changed, not oil filter. So new oil filter put on oil brought up to fill line. Car ready to go. On way home I hear metal banging together. Get home look under the car, the under carriage protection metal was only held on by two bolts , four missing , four bolts lose. I can never return here , it is now a safety concern. read more
