I scheduled two appointments with Pep Boys in Ocala on 8/21/2025. Both for Oil changes and a tire rotation. I arrived at the Pep Boys, 2170 NE 49th Ct Rd, Ocala, FL 34470 in Silver Springs for my 10:30 Appointment and found out my appointment was made at a different store in Ocala at 2425 E Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL 34470. Anyway, the lady told me she would work my car in for the oil change so I left it there dropped my son off for his class at CF and returned an hour later to drop my truck off for service and take the car. They had not touched the car, even though there were two employees in the office and one actively working in the shop. I told them I could not wait any longer as I had to return my son's car to him. So, I took the car and drove down to the other Pep Boys at 2425 E Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL 34470. Asked them to use my trucks appointment to service my son's car and they said they could have it done in 45 minutes to an hour so I left it with them and my wife and I ran an errand. Came back and same thing as the other store. They had not touched my car! And same scenario two guys in the office and two in the shop. I understand people get busy but don't promise what you can't deliver. I used to get good service from Pep Boys but not anymore. I have other auto Maintenance choices and Pep Boys is now off my list. read more

I brought my Mercedes to this location for brake & light services and received outstanding service from beginning to end! The dealership wanted to charge me an arm and a leg so I wanted to see what my other options were. When I called to make an appointment The gentleman that answered the phone was very professional and accommodating. I felt like I was in good hands . When I arrived I noticed how clean everything was. That made me very happy. Also when I got my car back it didn't even look like anyone had touched it ! I had an appointment for an oil change. I arrived promptly at my appointed time and they were not busy at all. One of the employees was sitting in the customer waiting area eating lunch and having a personal discussion with another employee who I later learned was the manager. After standing there for 5+ minutes, the manager finally asked me if I had an appointment. I said yes and they told me it would be at least an hour or more to get the oil changed. I was leaving town in a few days and needed the oil changed before my road trip so I agreed. After about 30 minutes it did not appear that they had done anything on my car...I continued to wait. After another 20 minutes or so they finally looked to be changing the oil. After waiting about an hour and ten minutes I asked for status...the manager went to check and said they were finished and resetting the oil change indicator. I waited another 15 minutes and they finally brought my car around. I paid and they told me that they had been unable to reset the oil change indicator...so I looked on YouTube and figured out how to reset it myself...it took about five minutes. A few days later I got in my car headed toward Atlanta and got just past Gainesville and started hearing this loud flapping noise coming from the left front undercarriage. I pulled off the road and looked under my car to find that the screws that held the skid plate under the engine were gone and the left side of the skid plate was flapping. I was able to find a Pilot that had zip ties so I zip tied the skid plate in place...which required me to crawl around on the ground (I was not dressed for this). I have owned this car since 2016 and it has been very well maintained...and I have never had this happen before. Pep Boys on Silver Springs in Ocala are incompetent and don't care about the quality of work that they do. DO NOT GO THERE! read more

Set appointment for a Tuesday morning 9:30am here it is 11:05 and I'm still sitting in waiting room my vehicle is still not pulled into the shop and still waiting to check my tires. Full disclosure I did not have an appointment scheduled. I had called on a saturday at about 2:30 to see if I'd be able to get my alignment done. I was told that if i bring my car in they could squeeze me in (they were open until 7:00). fast forward near closing time I was told it wasn't going to be done but it would be on the schedule for Sunday. no big deal. I'll survive another day. Sunday came and went and when I called as asked as to its status I was told "we're trying our best to get everyone worked in". What upsets me is that if they weren't going to be able to do it. just be honest and say so. I understand I was a walk-in of sorts. I would have much rather been told they were too busy and to try one of the other stores. So instead of getting it done at another store that could have had the free time to do an alignment I have to drive with a crooked wheel until I can get it in elsewhere. Just be say no "no. We can't do it." I would at least understand that. read more

Sorry I'm the first but this was the worst experience I've ever had. I change brakes myself but this time I didn't have a jack to get my truck high enough. Waited over 2.5 hours for a simple brake and resurface job. Employees are extremely slow no concept of time. If I had to do this again I'd go elsewhere. I came here for 2 new front tires and an oil change. when they looked at my tires they found out that the back passenger tire was about to fall off. It was being held on only by the brakes. The rear wheel bearings were broke. Mike was amazing and helped us above and beyond. Tillis, the manager and service writer, is the man. I went all over Ocala and checked 5 different place to see what it would cost me to do an oil change, everyone else wanted at least $100-$111. Tillis got me the amazingly inexpensive price of $64.48 out the door with tax disposal fee and everything. He truly looked out for my bottom line and made sure I was happy with the service that him and his highly trained staff provided. I will NEVER take my vehicle anywhere other than Pep Boys on Silver Springs Blvd. Tillis also got me a few other perks and services for free that I have never seen any other place do for less than $30 per item and there were 3 total. So basically I got $90 worth of free stuff and an oil change for $64. I feel like I got the oil change for free since the value of the free items/services would have been $26 more than I paid for the oil change altogether. I have never left and oil change feeling so satisfied. Like I said before I will NEVER go anywhere else. read more

My daughter recently had her brakes and rotors replaced along with a high mileage oil change. She waited 3 hours and was charged $500. A week later she came over for a visit and my husband decided to check the oil. The oil cap was gone and oil had spewed out over the engine. We took it in today to complain. We never received an apology. They degreased under the hood (after I asked them to) with no offer to reimburse us for the new oil cap or the lost oil we had to purchase. My daughter could have lost her engine due to their incompetence. Stay away from this place! read more

In December, 2012 we found a Groupon offer for 3 oil changes for $30. It sounded too good to be true so before buying the group on we called our local Just Brakes store #631 in Ocala, Fl. We were concerned about the May expiration date as we thought getting 3 oil changes in 4 months didn't make sense. We spoke with Patrick who handled the service counter. He told us that we just had to get the first oil change before the May expiration and we could get the other two when needed So both my wife and I each bought a groupon offer. Today we went for our second oil change and we were told by the assistant manager, Richard Clemons, that the offer expired in May and he would only give us an $11 credit on any of their oil changes. We explained to him what Patrick had told us and he said that "everything that Patrick ever told you was a lie" and that Patrick was no longer with Just Brakes. He then went on to blame Groupon for the problem. At our request he called the store manager John Speer who also offered only an $11 credit. That is not what we paid for. The fine print on the Groupon also says "First oil change must be redeemed by expiration date on Groupon." which is what Patrick told us. We feel Richard Clemons and John Speer should honor the Just Brakes Groupon offer that was made by Just Brakes and bought by us. It's deplorable that they would change the terms of the offer and then blame it on a former employee. Meanwhile the shop sits empty! We can't possibly be the only customers who were duped by Just Brakes. We will never go there again and will tell everyone we know how we were first duped and then treated badly. I have contact Groupon who agreed with us, the groupon offer states "First oil change must be redeemed by expiration date on Groupon" and that it was ridiculous to expect someone to get 3 oil changes in 4 months. Also after our first oil change we were solicited by Just Brakes by email to write a good review online in exchange for a free oil change. we never received the free oil change. read more

Back in September my boyfriend visited this location for a fuel pump replacement and it was probably one of the worst experiences we had ever had when dealing with a vehicle. Last night the very same fuel pump went out and we had it towed back to Just Brakes (warranty reasons). We are so glad we did. The new management is absolutely wonderful! Harrison was so eager to help us and took care of getting the part replaced in a very timely fashion. He answered every one of our questions and took his time breaking down our invoice after the job was completed. When we went to pick up the vehicle there was a slight confusion in pricing but instead of getting upset or annoyed with us, Harrison did everything he could to make sure we left happy and returning customers. Quenton was up front when we picked up the vehicle also, he was a very nice guy who was so nice and very professional. The Just Brakes employees we had the pleasure of dealing with were wonderful and I highly recommend you using their services. If you were like us and don't want to return to this location because of previous experiences, trust me, it's a completely different atmosphere, attitude, and experience the second you walk through the door.
