Called the day before to make an appointment and had no issue. Was told the service would take an hour or so. With an hour and a half being tops. We dropped the car off and I asked the approximate time. The employees told me that our car would be going in next since we had and appointment and that it shouldn't be long. I called the store and hour and a half later to see if the car is done and was told it would be done in twenty minutes. Go for pickup and it is still not done. It's almost three hours later. Omg I love this pep boys! My Mini Cooper broke down when I was down in Miami for business and I called freaking out, thankfully Ronald was able to calm me down, call me a tow truck and service my vehicle. Everybody was friendly and professional from the manager to the cashier. They could have charged me astronomically but what I appreciated the most was how much they tried to save me money and instructed me on how to avoid the same issues in the future. This is definitely my car spot when I'm next in Miami, I've never had such a good experience when I've been to Pep Boys in Tampa. Thanks guys!!! read more

I suggest you come here if you enjoy wasting your time. Showed up at 6, told me to make an appt. made one for 8pm then Juan Carlos, the service advisor said there were too many cars. What was the point of making the appt online? To test my knowledge for computers? Then you call the 1-800 number and they say yea, the services dept do that sometimes. Really? Then you ask for a store manager and they do retail and not service and can't help you! What an amazing place! I'll stick with tire kingdom that respects and values people's time and don't have incompetent service advisors and "customer service" representatives running the show. Thieves, liars and little regard for customers! I took my car in to get a diagnostic because the check engine light came on and the engine was stalling. I was advised that the car needed a new engine and that it was basically unfixable. I was given a $5,000 estimate to repair the car. I took the car somewhere else. Basically, the issue with the car was that the sensors for the spark plugs were loose. They were readjusted and tightened and now the car is back to normal. The personnel in this location basically stole $105 for an incorrect diagnostic. DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE LITTLE REGARD FOR YOUR MONEY. Bad customer service, horrible estimated wait times to gain business. I took my car to this location for new tires a job that typically takes 45min - 1.5 hours and waiting for over 3 hours. I specifically asked the mechanic for a time estimate because I had other things to do that day. The mechanic reassured me it would take 1 to 2 hours but no longer than 2. And what do you know I was there for over 3 hours watching them take their sweet precious time on my car walking in and out the waiting area to watch the soccer game on TV. They kept speaking in Spanish laughing and chuckling not know I understand Spanish. This location is a bad representation of the Pep Boys brand and the franchise owner should take a deeper look into the mechanics he hires. Worst experience of my life. I would not recommend this location to anyone. Horrible customer service. They kept me there for 4 hours just to install a battery when the battery wasn't even the problem. Apparently they just wanted to sell me the battery and get rid of me. Pep-boys should really invest their money in training their management and staff since the employees don't know how to treat their customers correctly. The manager was also screaming at one of the mechanics in front of all of us, calling him names such as "idiot" and "retard". NEVER again shall I take my car to this location. read more

I seriously hate this place .. Is all about selling & no customer service ... I have a warranty for a battery and I can't even borrow tools to get it out myself .. Bullshit .. I've been coming here long enough to know they can do that in less than 20 minutes .. I even worked in a pepboys and I know how this works .. I really regret spending so much $$ here .. Obviously don't care at all .. ********************* Update: I was able to get help because a very nice guy Ronald, told me to go to the parts dept. and talk to Carlos.. He let me borrow some tools & ended up Heling me take the battery out and testing it for me .. It just needed a re/charge and he explained what to do ... That didn't take 1 to 1 1/2 hours as I was told previously by "Joel".. I was extremely upset (still am) with this man... Between Ronald & Carlos everything was taken care off in less than 30 minutes and I was on my way (tho o missed my son's dr's appointment anyway)... I really think someone should sit down with this so called manager and explain to him that sometimes little things go a long way ... BTW I bough the tools they used .. Horrible service . I had work done in Orlando and took the extended warranty. Cl..d decided he would lie to me and tell me my parts had limited warranty and service was not covered. It took three days of serious fighting and this guy Clif.. continued to insist I had no coverage. The proof was there and after being seriously irate the car was finally worked on. Took my Mitsubishi Galant in for replacement of the right hemi axle. While installing the new part, the "mechanic" (I use the term loosely) punctured the transmission seal. When I told the service manager of the new problem they caused he said it was not their fault and that is sometimes happens. Interesting how he contradicted himself in one sentence. When I insisted they repair the seal, the mechanic cut the grease boot on the new hemi axle they just installed and then claimed that it also "just happens sometimes". NEVER again. I'd rather walk than have these people work my car. -100 stars is possible. read more

Unsure of why appointments are made for oil changes. Had an appointment for 11:00 and my car was not looked at until 12:15. At one point I thought all the mechanics quit, because no cars were being serviced. While I thought it was conveniently close to my job, and that it would take 1 hour at most, I was mistaken.
