I purchased a tire after having a flat on 6/22/25. This morning (7/01/25) while in rush hour traffic on I-95 that same newly bought tire blew out. I came here asking if there were possible defects, if I somehow got a used tire, or if anything could be done. I was told by Marvin, no, they only sell new tires and because I didn't have roadside assistance I had to pay for a new tire. I let him know I wasn't asked about adding a warranty or roadside assistance when I originally purchased or I would have added it. There was no concession or even discount offered. Not even an attempt to figure out why a "brand new tire" would blowout so quickly. He was quite dismissive. I was told nothing could be done and I must have ran over something since I had no way of knowing what was on the highway. This was a highly frustrating response with no attempt to figure out what actually happened to the tire. read more

Well I have to report that Pep Boys failed to diagnose a pretty significant issue, a failed radiator. Our vehicle started overheating again & we took it back to them. They said there was no coolant in the vehicle. Ok so where did it go because there were no visible leaks on the ground. They added coolant and said it was fixed. When we picked up the vehicle it started overheating on the way home (what the heck!!! ) We finally took her to an ASI certified shop and not only was the radiator shot but there was oil leaking down the back of the engine. Dang Pep Boys if you didn't want to work on the vehicle or you didn't have the expertise to fix my vehicle, just say that. I could have gotten hurt on the road. On the plus side (reason for 2 stars) they didn't charge us for adding coolant and the incorrect diagnosis. Bottom line they have lost my business. I have been going to Pep Boys for awhile now for oil changes, new tires etc. the prices are reasonable. I have had tires delivered from Tire Rack and they received them and installed them. I will continue to go there for service when my warranty runs out on my vehicles. Great value for the price. they are remodeling in the store right now, so don't expect the place to look great. Not sure why or what the reason was but never have had a good experience here. Employees just standing around, acting like you're bothering them, inappropriate conversations. This location has terrible customer service. I had my car serviced here (axle work and back brakes, and alignment) for a total of $2,564. I was told they were unable to recalibrate my power steering because of a technical issue. Picked up my car and it had no power steering making it almost impossible to turn. I took it to the dealer who informed me that the 10050M fuse was popped, and the only way that could happen is if the car was jump started backwards or if the mechanic at Pep Boys accidentally popped it when servicing the car. Still waiting for corporate leadership to return my 3rd call. I DO NOT recommend this location. read more

Dwayne took my keys and when asked how long it would take for an oil change and tire rotation, his response was 60 to 90 minutes. Follow up: I endedup taking my car elsewhere after a terrible experience. It was still a fail, but less things and a significantly less expensive fix to get to the inspection pass. I appreciate the responses I recieved from corporate level, but do not recommended returning to this particular Pep Boys. I note now that their reviews trend low already and I should have paid attention to that before chosing this location. There are bettor options in our community; even a better Pep Boys. Details of my terrible experience: My experience at the Pep Boys #77 at 7311 Ritchie Highway was profoundly negative. Actually, I am still here with my car parked exactly where I left it for a 9am appointment. It is now 10:25am. As background, The is for a Maryland State Inspection. I made the appointment in person a couple of days ago. I said I would be staying at the shop. Then I had a voicemail the next day to call to confirm my appointment. I called back and confirmed that I would stay. I arrive at 8:45am today for my 9:00am appointment. I saw that I will stay. 30 minutes go by and I ask what my status is. I'm told I'm next. Great! Except it is now 10:30 and my car is still out there. A few minutes ago I went back to the service desk and spoke with someone and then the manager. They explained to me that ALL INSPECTIONS are drop offs. Essentially that I had an appointment is meaningless. This was at no point explained until I was trapped here. The manager did explain the process (repeatedly), but in my opinion in a dismissive manner and with no concern for the fact that this was described differently one three previous occasions as having an appointment and it would take about 2 hours. More than an hour and a half past the appointment time and it hasn't even started yet. Rather than good customer service by at least acknowledging the situation I was told that I scheduled this for drop off and could take the car elsewhere if I wanted. However, being it is Saturday morning and I'm now stuck here that is not an option for me really. In conclusion, while I hate to give a negative review before the process is complete, I do not see a recovery from the dismissive attitude of the manager and the nonsense of having a 9:00am appointment that they have no intention of being anywhere close to keeping. Valuable time missed with my family and being stranded in a lobby with bad coffee and broken WiFi access is no way to spend a weekend. Perhaps I should have taken the managers suggestion and taken my business elsewhere. I will also add that in my now 1 hour and 40 minutes of waiting for no action past my appointment time, I also did appreciate all the socializing I saw. One would think they would be more active if so far behind schedule. The car finally went in at 10:45am on a 9:00am appointment. Let's see how this goes. So far if there was less than * ranking I'd give it. The saving grace though, Bubba's Burgers is going to get a great review later. 12:10p and they failed the inspection. I went in to store #0077 for service on November 16th at 9:12 a.m. I purchased the buy 3 get 1 free tire deal and requested the warranty be added as well. After my service was done, I left the store. The TPMS started going off before I even made it home. On November 17th at 2 p.m. I called the store to inform them of the TPMS issue. The manager told me to come in. When I got to the location I was told that I would not be able to be seen and that I could leave my vehicle for pick up the following day. I would have to take off of work in order for this to happen, so I was unable to leave my vehicle. On November 23rd I walked into the location and spoke to the Assistant Manager. I was told they were too busy and to come back on Monday or Tuesday. On November 27th I walked into the location, and again, was told that they were too busy to see me and given the option to leave my vehicle in hopes that it would be serviced the following day. I could not do this. On November 29th I called at 3:30 PM. I was told they were too busy to see me and that I could not make an appointment for the service I need. On December 1st at 1 p.m. I walked into the location, and again, was told that they were too busy to see me that day. On December 2nd I called. I was told that I could drop my vehicle off, but there was no guarantee that it would be serviced the same day. I could not take the chance as I had to work the next day. Today, December 6th, at 8:30 a.m. I walked into the location. I explained to them, again, everything that had been happening since the day I got the tire. After checking the tire, they told me that the tire had sidewall damage. How is this even possible with a brand new tire?? Nevertheless, they were going to replace it under my warranty. Well, as it turns out, the representative who helped me on November 16th never added the warranty for the tires. Although I started having this issue the same day I got the tire, they were unwilling to help me. The only resolution that they offered was for me to buy a brand new tire for $202 (to include installation and warranty for this tire only). With no other choice at this point, I had to accept this. I am a single father and corrections officer who works a strict schedule, often with mandatory overtime, as well as having pick my child up from aftercare. It is nearly impossible for me to take time off from work, and unfeasible to leave my car at the shop overnight with hopes that they "might" get to it the following day. Still, I have put in constant effort to resolve the matter since the problem started (which was the very same day my vehicle was serviced). The response of the staff and management at this location has been irresponsible, ineffiecient and unaccaommodating to say the least. I believe I was given a faulty tire to begin with. The only resolution to this problem is for Pep Boys to refund the $202 I just spent for a bad tire they gave me in the first place. Pep Boys should also cover the other 3 tires under warranty as it was not added due the incautious problem made by their employee. read more

If you are looking for service on your vehicle or a tire changed don't go here. I scheduled an appointment to have one tire changed on my truck for 5:00 pm. When I scheduled the appointment the employee told me my appointment was a 5:00 pm, but I could show up at 4:30 pm. I arrived at 4:20 and checked in and turned over my keys. I then shopped around the store until 5:30 pm. At this time I went to the waiting room to look in the work bay to see if my truck was being worked on, it wasn't. It was still parked in the same spot that I parked it. I went to the counter and asked when my truck was going to get worked on. The person at the counter checked and said it is next to go in. I then asked if appointments matter and I was told appointments get preferential treatment. At 6:30 pm my truck was still sitting in the same spot, so I went to the counter and demanded my keys and tire. They gave it to me and I left. I have never had an issue going to this pepboys. The current staff treat me very well. When searching for parts on the computers. The tech assisting me- actually notified me the system had the wrong oil filter listed for my vehicle as he was far i love you woth my make and model and proceeded to guide me to what size was actually required. He even discussed what brands were best and what he would recommend on his own vehicle. I was in and out in 30 mins for a tire rotation (without an appointment). I was recommended cleaning products that I still use to date! The appearance of the store is a bit on the older side but that has more to do on corporate funding vrs the employees. I love the window. The service members work very well and I noticed the gentlemen who had my car doing all the safety checks. I was impressed with the care he took in making sure everything was how I left it. They are more helpful then their competitors and don't hawk you 24/7 while you browse. If you need assistance, they do take a moment to find you the right guy. But I rather wait for the expert any day. I send all my friends and family here for quick service. All in all. The company needs to invest more in their staff and locations. These boys and girls have a lot of potential and it goes overlooked. Keep up the amazing work team. read more

The lounge/waiting area had a Keurig coffee machine and a window into the shop so you can watch the mechanic actually working on your vehicle I thought that was wonderful except for the glare where one of the shades was missing the glare made it hard to see. I did an online chat to get pricing on the labor cost of my pre-purchased shocks and boots I was quoted 29.99per shock or per boot when I got there the price was double that. I had assessed $250.00 charge and left paying $430. Know that I had an additional $69 charge for a missing key for my wheel locks that was the charge to remove it. James the mechanic was wonderful he communicated with me and was done under the 2 1/2 hours he told me was gonna take to get the job done. The 3 stars is for James. Had my truck towed on Friday night, was told it would probably up on the lift and worked on by Saturday morning - I needed the rear brake drums serviced and the parking brake cable changed - I couldn't finish the work myself because I don't have a driveway. Came back Saturday evening to find out that they "just had too much going on right now" and it would probably be done today. Lo and behold, I come in today and they still have yet to even look at my truck, it's sitting exactly where the tow truck driver left it, and half the bays are empty. I'm told that I need to be more patient because everyone's going on vacation, and it will probably be *looked at* maybe by Tuesday. It must be *super* inconvenient to have to delay that because a car is broken down, right? Bottom line - even if this is the only place you can get towed to, push your car into traffic and get it totaled so you can get a new one before you ever take it here. read more

When I checked in was not informed of any delay in service, an hour later my car had still not been taken back and was told there is still someone a head of me. Asked why is there an appointment system when clearly they are not followed I was told the appointment system really doesn't work So unprofessional to take appointments and then not given the courtesy or respect of anyone's time frames or to offer an explanation. I dropped my car off and in about three hours I had my inspection certificate ready. I give up on this place. I used to go to the Pasadena shop down the road and decided to go here for minor things like wheel alignments and tire rotations. I bought a 1 year wheel alignment package and used it 3 times. Two out of the three times it seemed like the car came back EXACTLY as we dropped it off!! I contacted the service manager after the second "alignment" (didn't really align anything) and he said to bring it back during the week when more experienced people would be working. No apologies or offer to fix it personally. I scheduled my appointment for a weekday morning. When I picked it up, it was still not aligned. In my mind, if you cannot do something as simple as a wheel alignment, there is no way I'd allow something more complicated. read more

It disappoints me to give this place such a low rating, however, I feel it is necessary to warn others of what my boyfriend and I experienced. I went for a standard oil change and to get one of my tires patched due to a nail. They completed the oil change but forgot the reminder sticker. Normally that wouldn't be such an issue however, given how often I am on the road it matters to me and it's the small things that count. The tire so far has stayed in tact. That's about where the 2 stars were earned. Later that day, my boyfriend (who owns a Jeep Wrangler), needed to drop off his vehicle to replace ball joints. Pep Boys guaranteed me in person while I was waiting completion of my service that they would easily be able to complete the job within about 2 hours after he arrived. The Jeep was dropped off and we awaited a call back. After about 2 hours of nothing, we ended up calling them to see how much longer the wait would be. They never ended up starting the job and said they would work on it the following day. The next day, I went in for a state inspection (on a Monday) after I had been told by one of their employees that it should not be an issue. I got there and one of the guys in the service department about chewed my head off for requesting the service because apparently the only person who does them was out, and had been out for awhile, due to medical reasons. Way to have a single point of failure by the way. Anyhow, I figured I would check on the status of the Jeep. They ended up telling me (never calling my boyfriend to inform him) that the parts were wrong/too small. I relayed to my boyfriend where he then contacted them, went in to investigate and found that they had been using the old parts! REALLY?!?!?! My boyfriend essentially had to supervise them in the process to make sure it was properly completed. The next day, he got the jeep back and found that they had damaged the axle seal. He made yet another appointment, but was told that there was no mechanic available to do the service. However, it ended up they could not do it at all. So due to their negligence, he had to bring it into an actual dealership. Pep Boys did pick up the tab for that and reimbursed the costs Long story, short....this is not the type of service I would wish on anybody. Avoid if possible! read more

Triple a brought my truck to this location after my car shut off for an unknown reason, the place is busy, customer service was fine no complains there, the assured me my truck would be looked at same day in which it was, they seem nothing wrong with it since my car was not doing anything at the time claimed to had it running for 45 min , so I basically was charged 99 bucks to tell me nothing was wrong , but that's better than paying more for something that I didn't need so it was ok no complains at all read more

It is now 11:15 and my car still sitting in the parking lot. The mechanic not working they drinking soda and eating snacks and acting like they busy. It now 11:15 am And my car still sitting in the lot. It don't take three hours for oil change. I am getting my keys and I will never recommend this location. I just wasted three hours of my time. Update: I spoke too soon on the work being fine. They evidently don't know how to balance or inflate tires. The day of the installation, the car started shaking at highway speeds. I initially checked the pressure in the tires; they were all at least 3 PSI higher than the manufacturer's suggested pressure, and they all had different pressures. They claim that all their mechanics have credentials, but I don't know what credentials you can earn by not knowing how to check a tire's pressure. Today I took the car to a Subaru dealership. They balanced three of the tires, but told me that the fourth was bad, and they can't imagine that the installer didn't know that. I'll be taking the car to a different Pep Boys this weekend, in hopes that some of their mechanics know how to spot a bad tire. read more

Had a very bad experience with Pep Boys yesterday. I brought my car in for them to check one of my tires for a nail. I even called to ask if I needed an appointment. I sat in the waiting room and watched the workers while waiting. The worker on Bay 1 (Mike) was putting tires on a truck and Bay 2 was empty, until a car pulled in to be serviced. I checked the status since I thought that I was next. I was told by Jason C at the front desk that the car that pulled in was one of the worker's car who was off and was working on his OWN car. Really? I was then told that I would be up after Mike was done with the truck in Bay 1. When the truck in Bay 1 was done, I thought, great, my turn (it was almost 6pm at this time). The truck was moved out of the Bay about 20 minutes when I went AGAIN to Jason C at the front desk. I said, where is the person (Mike) who was supposed to work on my car? He said that he went up the street for something. Again, really? So, I sat for almost 2.5 hours for nothing. Could have been taken care of by someone was off work and working on his own car, and then by someone who had to leave the premises while I waited for him to come back? And all I wanted was for someone to check my tire for a nail? So, I left, went up the street to Tires for Less and they took me in right away. They couldn't have been more professional. I will NEVER go to Pep Boys again and I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. Very poor customer service.... read more

Worst experience ever would never recommend them and will never use them again I went there to get four tires changed after the work was done they called at 4:45 and left a message that it was ready for pick up I left immediately to go pick my car up and when I got there at 5:05 they had closed for the evening due to weather And that wasn't even that bad but never said that they were closing early I had no way to get to work the next day they had my car locked up I spoke with somebody there that said the service manager had already left it was five minutes after closing they never once told me they were closing early so I had to miss a day of work because of this and I couldn't use sick time because it's a new job I've never had to call out Then I tried calling their customer service and it said it would be a three hour wait that I could put my phone number in for a callback it has now been over 10 hours and have not received a call back yet I would like to speak to the district manager It's been over a week and still have not been contacted and when I did finally pick my car up the next day they acted like it was my fault for not calling back after I got the message to pick up my car and I said why would I call back if I didn't know you were closing because I came right up here and when I asked for the phone number of the district manager they said they don't have one and we would have to call the customer service phone number again read more
