The waiting room was stocked with K cups for their Keurig at least and I passed the time with multiple cups of earl gray! I made an appointment online a few days in advance for an oil change. They had advertised for a 30 minute oil change so long as one had an appointment. When I first arrived the front seat attendant stated they were "backed up" so I was expecting a 30minute to 1 hour delay on top of the original 30 minutes. 2 hours and 40minutes later I received my oil change. Sitting in the waiting room, chatting with other customers and discover that 4 of the 5 customers waiting are in for the same reason. Every one of us told it was a problem with TPMS. I'm furious. I will not ever come to this location again. The customer service sticks big time. I'm heated because I actually like the company. I've been waiting 2hrs for a tire I need replaced due to my original tire having a piece of metal in it. I have struts under warranty as well that I wanted check. I still have another HR or longer to wait. LET ME GIVE YOU THE BACK STORY: I called ahead of time and asked was it better for me to make an appointment. The answer was , come in. I come in. The next question I asked was, how long will it take. 2hrs at the most. IT TOOK 2HRS JUST TO PULL IT IN. I just hate miscommunication. So I a real life ex-mechanic who is here from out of state wander into this place of lies. These fools sell me a radiator flush for $113.30. They charge me $38.57 for coolant, $62.02 in labor, and $9.89 in the other category that I assume is disposal. So expecting the worse because I know the games they play at these establishments I quickly popped the hood in the parking lot and checked the fluid. Guess what green in the tank and amber gold in the overflow. I asked to speak with a manager and was quickly greeted by one. I said look here and look here what do you think happened. Great experience last weekend. We had family In from out of town that had a flat tire Friday around 6pm and needed to get back home that night. After frantically calling about 5 other shops Pepboys said to bring it in. They found the problem and installed a new tire in just over an hour! They also have a comfortable waiting area with TV and club chairs, a charging station for cell phones and a coffee machine. Assistant Manager, Billie, and technician Travis were both amazingly understanding and friendly. I will bring my own car back for service next time I need anything done. Highly recommend! read more

My first impression was not good. My appointment was for 10 am and 15 minutes later I'm still waiting for a representative to check me in. My appointment us for an oil change to check out why the new Dakota tire we purchase with pep boys less than a month ago are leading air. Hopefully the technicians are faster than the customer service reps. The waiting area is very nice. They have a charging station for cell phones and laptop and free wi-fi. Also has comfortable lounge chairs with television and coffee table. It also has a water bottle refill station and a Kuerig Coffee machine. It's 12:07 pm. I have been here since 10am. I asked them what's the status of my vehicle and the gentleman said that they have not even taken the car back! I have been a faithful Pep Boys customer for a while but this is very upsetting. Is 12:37 so 30 minutes after speaking with the manager he got the oil change completed and are working on fixing my flat tire. He apologized about what occurred. He said they got swamped but did his best to get me out of here which I really appreciated. I went to Pep Boys to get new front brakes and four brand new tires. I realized after awhile that my tires always looked low. I found out that reasoning for it was because they gave me the wrong size tires! I won't lie to you I was shocked. I called Pep Boys and after being on hold for 20 mins I finally got a hold of the Service Manager. I explained the situation and he acknowledge they were the wrong tires and offered to prorate the (at this point) used tires. Pro rate?! Seriously! I explained that I was't going to pay for their mistake. After 5 minutes of going back and forth he agreed to give me new tires no additional cost. I dropped off my car and 4 hours later was told they didn't have all four tires. They had lost the fourth tire. Instead they offered me lower grade tires than the ones I was supposed to get. I begrudgingly took them so that I didn't have to deal with them anymore. Do not go to the this Pep Boys. Find someplace else. read more

I really enjoy the service here. It's close enough to my home so I can drop off the car and then walk home. Most of the time my car is ready before I can even make it home. All of the workers are nice and have never asked me to get additional work done like most service stations in the area. I appreciate how I don't feel pressured to get a bunch of extra work done. Hello I went Pep Boys Baltimore at 4621 Harford Road. I am writing to let you know about extremely unhappy experience I had there. The tire pressure for the rear passenger side was decreasing since more than a month ago. First time I went there, they checked the tire and told that there is no problem and just put some air in tire. But after tire pressure again decreased the day after while I was driving to Virginia and it really put me in trouble. I came back to Pep Boys again and they checked the tire but this time they told that I got a nail in tire and they repaired it. But unfortunately tire pressure again decreased after less than one week. I went there again and after telling the story they checked the tire again and told that the plug got out and they plugged it again and charged me again for that. I asked if they are sure that it is ok now and they told "yes". Unfortunately, tire pressure decreased again after one week and this really made me nervous. Other than being charged several times and spending a lot of money, I spent more than 15 hours including the time that I was waiting at the queue each time I visited Pep Boys, and still I the problem is there. I really do not understand, how they can say there is no problem at first and then say that I have got a nail in the tire. And if there is a nail in the tire, how this is possible that tire pressure decreases after repairing it twice. I really do not expect that the plug gets out in less than a week. I am really really unhappy with this and I am dealing with this for more than a month. I would not recommend Pep Boys to any one at all. I made a appointment online for 10 a.m. to have my flat tire repaired/replaced. I confirmed that my car was towed there at 11 a.m, called three times to find out at 5:45 p.m. that, not only is my car not finished, it hasn't been looked at. 7 hours NO CALL, NO WORK... was told I would receive a call about my car. Oh, for anyone reading this, may I formally recommend: any Pep-Boys EXCEPT this one! This place has the audacity and the gull to do appointments, then not honor the appointment simply because they are short. This guy, who goes by the name of Tyrone, told my wife that even thou the appointment was set, because he was short, our appointment would be about two hours late. Two hours, like people just set appointments to waste that kind of time. Then, afterwards, he had the testicular fortitude (f***ing balls) to say this was going to take longer because he didn't feel like working. So, not only are you forcing customers in inconvenience because you're short-staffed, but you are also going to move at the speed of a snail's ass, and I'm supposed ok with that. Here's an idea for you, Tyrone, next time you don't want to work, call out like the rest of your coworkers, and don't expect the customer to understand your choice to be lazy at work. Price, location, service, and quality of work are the four factors that go into a review of a place like this. I needed to get a hitch mounted on my van and went online. I found that this location was able to do the work and I was able to do 90% of the transaction online. I found the right hitch, used a coupon code to knock a % off the total bill and scheduled the appointment for a few days out. I called the day before and yes, the hitch had arrived. So far, so good. Price was right (I mean more than I wanted to pay, but less than my wife paid elsewhere) and while I live a bit away from this location, it wasn't that bad. I mean I figured I could bring some work and get a few things done while I waited. And there's things to do right around here - places to eat and all - which is a nice touch. The reason for the a-ok rather than yea! I'm a fan is that while I arrived early for my appointment, I was told it would take between 2 - 3 hours to do the installation. That simply seemed crazy to me. What's the point of the appointment if a 20 - 30-minute job is going to take 3 hours? I ended up taking an Uber back home since spending 3 hours of my day waiting for this service wasn't going to happen. The other thing that I had mentioned on my call was that the blower motor in my van was making noise and I wanted to get it replaced. When I came in they told me it would be 40 bucks just to diagnose the problem (it squeaks, that's the problem) and that that cost could not be applied to the repair. Again, a knock about service. Whelp this pep boys may of been great for some but do not be in a emergency of a flat in the middle of the road because they will tell u it will take several hours for them to even put a spare tire on that takes 5 minutes to do . I have worked in a dealership 4 years and coordinated a service department , if it something as small as a tire we will squeeze you in between a job fairly quickly especially if it's one tire. The two (very cocky and rude) gentlemen up front told me it was $90 for a diagnostic even though they ended up checking it and telling me nothing was wrong with it for free anyway... so ya'll wanted $90 to tell me my gas cap was loose... In addition, under the leadership of Danny the store manager, they will never know how to deliver a great customer service experience. I am so very satisfied with my service at this Pep Boys! I found a coupon online which helped to decrease the price of a very expensive repair and they made sure that I was aware of a mail in rebate that was available to me.
