Passenger side (bad alignment side)

This Pep Boys is terrible!! Find some where else to get your vehicle worked on. I thought Pep Boys was a reputable place to get good service but apparently not. I brought my vehicle in for an alignment and it was done incorrectly. When I brought my vehicle back for it to be redone, they were saying that guy doing alignments was a new guy and I needed to come in when their "vet" was available. I'm a busy man, I don't have time to keep coming back and forth to Pep Boys hoping that the right guy is there or not. When I eventually found the time to come back, the store manager, Israel tried to lie to me in my face. The bad alignment caused my tires to wear on 1 side, the side where the alignment was done incorrectly. My tires are 22 inch Vogues priced at $525 per tire. 1 tire is CLEARLY worn down to the point where it's almost slick but he's trying to tell me to my face while comparing both tires that they are worn evenly. My vehicle is pulling hard to 1 side and it shows in the tread-wear of my tire. That's what happens when an alignment is done incorrectly. He's attempting to weasel his way out of getting my tire replaced. Do not come to this Pep Boys or maybe even any Pep Boys for that matter, they exhibit a great level of ineptitude. Update: After the realignment, the alignment was still done incorrectly and Israel brought my car back to me saying that I have a bad wheel bearing. Which is a lie, all my parts are brand new in my front end. This guy is a scum bag and has a condescending demeanor. I'm going to speak with the District Manager and revisit this post!

I don't know what's changed, but I used to get decent service from Pep Boys. Recently my truck has been running hot. I took it to another shop and they didn't do much to help, so I ended up back here. They've since had it twice now for about a week each time. In the 9 years I've had this thing, the engine temp has been rock solid just before the midline. The high speed radiator fan would come on when the external temp was 95°. Recently though, it has started overheating. The pic below is the temp gauge today when it's 70°outside and the radiator fan is running hard too. I can't believe it's this hard to fix. **Edit** Let me add some more detail. Another shop got first crack at fixing it. They replaced the thermostat for $300. The initial problem was no can heat. After their 'repair', it started overheating. So, I went to Pep Boys. They replaced a radiator hose and said I needed a new battery. I was out the door for $600. I live a mile from the store. It started overheating on the way home. I turned around and took it back. We were going to Europe, so they had it over a week. All they said they did was drive it around. They said there must have been an air bunker in the system because it was fine. We returned and I picked the truck up. It started overheating again on the way home. Remember, I'm one mile away. When I called this time, I was told that if the gauge wasn't in the red then I was fine. They also said the high speed radiator fan coming on when the external temp is only 60° was fine too. For nine years, the temp gauge has been rock steady at just below the midpoint and the fan doesn't come on unless the outside temp is 95° I found another shop with 230 five star reviews. I took it to them at 8:30 on Monday. At 9:30, they called and said they needed to replace the thermostat and water pump. They used Ford parts and were done at 2:30. They said the thermostat the other shop used was junk. Out the door, their price was was $450. That's half of what I had already paid other shysters to do the same work. I'd like my money back Pep Boys. Your folks are incompetent and crooked. I paid idiots $900 to do was another shop did in one day for $450.

Drove past Tire Mart, and as soon as I got out I was greeted by the manager Mohammed who asked me what I needed. We discussed and went with new tires on the front and slightly used on the back. He got right to work and all I had to do was sit in the waiting room. Where I noticed they also do oil changes, tire disposal, and oil disposals. The waiting room is quiet and not super crowded. The weather channel was playing and there were 4 adults sitting in the room. One of the men in the room said he trust tire mart and he has been coming here 25 years. Mohammed came and told me one of my tires was good and he didn't see me needing to replace it!!! What the what he came to tel me I didn't need to spend the money They have a whole little room with tires, all kinds. The place may not look like much on the outside but if I need a tire the service and speed are well worth me breaking up with the chain stores and coming here!

Hao, and company diagnosed the problems and provided an estimate which equals about three car payments on a new vehicle but a lot cheaper than a dealer would charge. We swallowed hard but decided to move forward with the repair and they completed the work quickly and efficiently. Their positive friendly aporoach to everything was really refreshing! When I went to pick it up, they asked me to come out in the shop to show me the parts that failed and were replaced. Other times they were a fraction what the dealership wanted. 2. Fast. 3. Nice. It's genuine. These are kind hearted good people. They are not putting on a face for the customer like some dealerships. Im old. I can tell the difference. 4. Excellent mechanics. This is most important of course but they know their business inside out. Im not a good mechanic myself but do enough of my own work to recognize excellence and competence in others. 5. Some might complain about the less than fancy location but that's one thing keeping their overhead low. I literally could not have come up with a better place to get my car fixed if I thought about it all day and asked God for help.

I scheduled an appointment at 10 am on 2/29/24. I dropped my car off and was told it would be ready by 3 pm. I contacted the shop 1115am because I received information that my car wouldn't pass inspection unless I got my brakes done. Which the quote for my brakes on 2/28/24 was $580.00. On 2/29/24 after inspection the new total was $980.00. She stated if I didn't do it they wouldn't pass my inspection. The price is now $450.00 more than what I was quoted. If you look at the photos the new cost is coming from labor, mind you it's 1115am and no one person has touched my brakes yet. I asked what time they would be done she said 230 pm to 3 pm. So I show back up to this shop at 245 pm only to be told they haven't even started my car at all. They stated they were behind and to come back by 530pm it would be ready. So now it's a rush job to get done before they close. I get a call about 455 pm saying my car is ready for pickup. So I asked how many hours for labor was I charge he said he gave me credit so roughly an hr and a half. As you can see in the photos the hours are showing 9 am to 11 am, nowhere showing the true times my car was worked on. On top of that I drive and hear a loud squeaking noise when I go to brake. So I call and let them know about the sound, she stated we're not doing brakes on the weekend. I asked to come back on my off day on Wednesday, she scheduled me for 8 am. I am here now 3/6/24 and she come and tells me they don't hear anything squeaking. So the man comes back after the second drive, she says he still doesn't hear anything but my transmission is messed. So now I'm like what in the heck is going on. She tells me to wait for it to cool down and the he can drive with me. I was like it's my off day now I'm about to be here all day again. I asked could I take it to another Midas she said no the 3 year warranty is with us. So I was over it, I go to leave she was like give it 2 or 3 weeks are if you still hear it come back. I'm like it doesn't matter if I hear it you guys don't so I'm the crazy person that hears squeaking. So I could only post this because I won't get any help there. Listen to my driving videos. The reason I didn't go to Firestone as usual was because their pricing was not as reasonable when I checked. When requesting an appointment online, I got exactly the day and time slot I needed to fit my schedule, and the shop got me in and out in under 45 minutes. The best thing about the service however, is that the owner is Lisa and the front desk staff member was Lexie. Lisa assured me her lead tech had been with her for five years. The shop was clean, orderly and nicely maintained, further inspiring confidence. The service personnel in the bay were efficient, considerate and polite. An exceptional experience in every respect. Needless to say, I will be back.
