I showed up for a tire patch, made an appointment and everything. It took over an hour to get my wheel off the car. Why on gods green earth did we put my tire and spin it on the FACE OF MY BRAND NEW GLOSS BLACK WHEEL Scratching it to kingdom come. (Thank you so much to the lazy tech who didn't want to walked over to the actual work area and not the FACE OF MY WHEEL. Then about another hour later the tech hands my key and tells me I'm all good to go. One of the service advisors hands me my paper work and sends me on my way. YES they did not charge me anything after being frustrated as I was actively late to work.... I walk out to my "ready to go" vehicle just to hear the tire hissing from the "plug" in my tire from the OPPOSITE side of the vehicle. And when I walk back inside the service advisor tells me he is not sure why it is and that he didn't hear what it sounded like be before.... There was no noise before. We walk outside to show him it's pouring air out from the brand new plug; then he thought that was the perfect time to say that I was gonna end up needing a new tire. (Nobody even hinted at this) My paper work from them says "tech found nail recommended plug-in tire" Then after I leave the facility- I find out on my own that my wheel weights had been removed from the wheel and none put back on. I generally have good experiences with this place. Today, I took my Jeep in for a coolant flush and an evaluation of the suspension. These two problems were mentioned at a dealership I took my Jeep to last month but they didn't have time to get to. Also, the estimate for repairs this dealership had was way more than what Pep Boys charged me today. The service tech, William, is very friendly and knowledgeable. Great customer service at good prices. Going forward, I will be a repeat customer. read more

Went for a tire rotation and check brakes. Also asked to check AC because it wasn't blowing. It cost me $60 for them to tell me it was the blower (I didn't have them do the work) and $35 shop fee. Which I believe is a charge for bringing in your car?!?!? $100 gone! The initial estimate was $1400. I went through it and ended up with just the pads and tire rotation. Will not go back. read more

I wasn't initially going to leave a bad review because I received good service. However, the morning after I brought my car in I started receiving calls and texts saying I didn't pay and if I didn't come in that day to pay they would be calling the police. Evidently they mixed me up with another customer but one it seems they do not check their records before calling people and two while I'm not condoning not paying their services they didn't even call to ask what happened or figure something out but immediately jumped to saying I needed to come in that day or the police would be called without even attempting to confirm if they were calling the correct person. I paid $1k plus only to be treated like a criminal. Warning that if you experience issues and email the customer service email address the responses provide they'll just have the local store respond vs corporate. If your local store is like mine the manager will just try to gaslight you and sweep the entire situation under the rug and act like it wasn't a big deal. Great to know between staff and managers what type of people they employ and what behavior they accept. Needless to say I'll never be returning to any location for business ever again. read more

I took my Kia in for an oil change, to get a nail removed from one of the tires and fixed, and for a tire rotation. When the technician called me over to review the work, he said they couldn't patch the tire because they didn't find any nail. However, I immediately noticed that the tire that needed fixing was still in the exact same spot which clearly meant the tire rotation was never done. They told me the oil change was completed and even placed a new service sticker on my windshield. When I questioned why the same tire hadn't been moved, the technician looked embarrassed and seemed unsure if the mechanic had actually done the job. He ended up saying he wouldn't charge me for the service. While I was there, I also noticed that the lobby was full of people waiting, with about six vehicles lifted in the shop but no mechanics were actually working on them. About two weeks later, my Kia's dashboard warning light came on indicating low oil. When I checked, the oil level was indeed low, which makes me doubt whether the oil change was done properly (if at all). It's really disappointing when businesses don't do what they say they will. I trusted them with my vehicle, but after this experience, I won't be returning. read more

Had to have roadside assistance come change a flat tire. The driver recommended this location for its location and he said they will take good care of you. And they did in fact take great care of me.Took the tire here and they took my vehicle right back and was able to patch it. Adam did a fantastic job. I'll be a repeat customer for sure. read more

i scheduled a state inspection on the website. when i showed up the associate told me the inspector retired nearly 7 years ago.

I had to utilize this location since they were the only ones fitted with the proper equipment to assess and fix my vehicle. Arrived on time for my scheduled appt sat over an hour before my vehicle was pulled into the bay to be serviced. Service was completed within 20mins. Long wait - felt like I was at the Drs office just waiting. They should assess what equipment is needed by service and schedule accordingly and not waste customers time. Dismissive behavior - I equate this to being slightly disrespectful or the napoleon complex "you're in my house and you're not my customer" go sit down. I approached the counter to inquire what was going on and how long more especially since I still was not up to par after my surgery and the Caucasian mixed like guy just said I didn't check you in James will address you. Sir you have a system which house a database. James did come several minutes later and he updated me. Upon checking out he applied a coupon which was nice hence the 2 stars. Cleanliness - The lounge area was dirty I mean I understand it's a tire shop but so early in the morning I was shocked. You could tell the floors were wet and someone just tracked all over it. Extremely poor customer service, workers were extremely hostile and rude refused to give me their name or customer service when I called to get the situation handled. If I could give zero stars, I would. There are some good auto shops in Annapolis, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME with these people when there are plenty of better shops worth spending your money at. On Sunday, 12/22, the store was listed as open until 6 p.m. on Google. I arrived at 5 with a donut on after busting my tire on the highway. I showed up to a building with the lights on, a full parking lot, doors locked, and nobody around. I knocked and called and left a message, never heard anything back. I drove home on a donut, frustrated but willing to forgive considering it was an hour before closing time a few days before Christmas. Then, the next day, I made an appointment for a late drop off for Tuesday 12/24 knowing that I would not be getting the car back quickly due to the holiday. I checked my email the morning of the appointment and saw it was cancelled without a reason. I scheduled another one online, this one for the mid-afternoon on the same day because I found out I would be able to leave work early. About 20 minutes later, I got an email that that one was cancelled, too. So I called the store. No joke, this is what I was told: "Oh yeah, our online system doesn't match up with our schedules, because we usually like to do that over the phone. We don't really use the online system. If someone makes an appointment online, we usually have to just cancel it." I suggested that maybe the online scheduling option should be either be embraced or removed, because the current standard is pretty confusing for customers. Based on the response, I would expect that change to be made any time soon. read more

Over five hours to do an oil change and tire leak, and still waiting. Left the car at 11:30am and at 4:30pm it took four trys for me to get the one desk attendant to answer the phone, only to hear the car won't be ready for another half hour. Well past. Am waiting here for with my handicapped mother (dropped off by her eldercare companion at end of workday), watching a disedifying episode of Judge Judy. There's only one other customer with me now, as there was only one in the waiting room this morning. So, why five hours for minor service? Pep Boys reliably serviced all our vehicles in Florida, so when we moved to Maryland we sought out the nearest Pep Boys when it was time for new tires. Was able to schedule everything on line and at a convenient time. Arrived early to my 8:30 appointment (but after the store was to open) to drop off my car; however, no one was there. Afraid of being stranded as I had planned to wait nearby for the vehicle to be ready, I didn't want to use the drop box for fear of being stranded. One hour later, still no one to open the store. Mechanics have been here since 7:30... Surprisingly poor service. Will not return to this location. read more

I did my research, and Pep Boys was actually the best reviewed tire shop I could find in Annapolis. Here is my experience: 0 hours: Drove for 30 minutes to get here, and arrived on time for my 7:30 appointment, which was confirmed by the Pep Boys website. The shop was dark, and an employee who was waiting to get in told me the shop didn't open until 8. I told him I had a 7:30 appointment. He shrugged and said "happens all the time." Maybe someone should fix this. 30 minutes: I returned at 8 to find myself in line behind a guy with an 8 am appointment. Naturally, they served him first. 1 hour: they finally get my car from the parking lot into the garage and lift it. And then the technician leaves to do something else. 1.5 hours: The technician returns and loosens the lug nuts, and then disappears again. 2 hours: A technician returns and removes 1 of the 4 tires that are being replaced. He then disappears again. Meanwhile, many other cars are being actively worked on. 2.5 hours: A second tire has been removed, but no one is working on the car. I ask the counter guy if anything can be done to accelerate this process. He says he will see what he can do. 2.75 hours: there has been a flurry of activity and all four tires are now on the car. However it's still sitting up on the lift. 3 hours: And we are done. Active time working on car: ~20 minutes. Time wasted: Over 2.5 hours. Summary: on the plus side, the counter guy was nice enough, and he volunteered a 15% discount for the length of my wait. However, that amounted to $7 for losing my Saturday morning. Buying tires from Tire Rack and installing here was $150 cheaper than my local shop for the same tires. I'm not sure it was worth it. Notes to Pep Boys: 1. Fix the website appointment scheduler now. This is an insane error, and to know that it is an ongoing one is maddening. 2. Manage your people. Work on the cars in the order of the appointments. 3. FIFO - Rather than juggling multiple cars per technician, work on the first car until it's done, and then move to the second one. This is changing tires. You don't need to wait for paint to dry. I sincerely hope that you can do better. read more

Stay away from Pep Boys in Annapolis..I walked in for basic service on my truck, I was told the wait was 1 one and a half to two hours. I thought that was long but I had time so I agreed to it..my truck was parked right in front of the door where I could see it from the sitting room..A full two hours went by and my truck did not move..and to make it all worse, they had a Japanese news channel on the tv that I had to watch and listen to..no coffee, no water..employees screaming at each other in the warehouse section.. Finally I had enough so I asked for my keys back..When I got home I received an email from them stating that the service on my truck was complete! I would bet that these employees will be on the bread line in the very near future. They suck! read more

Short story. Had appointment for tire puncture repair. They took the car in, minutes later 'manager' came out and said 'tire is not repairable because tread is less than 3/32 . He shrugged in the direction of the service department. When I asked to check one out, Jason not only found one, but came out to my car and read the code. And he didn't charge me a dime. Corporate is working on the issue....avoid at all costs this place can't manage their service appointments imagine what they are doing to your cars. They only respond to reviews that paints them in a positive light v the ones that actually needs a reply. They do not value their customers and it almost costed me my car and my life. I couldn't be more disappointed with the service. I scheduled an appointment to have a tire changed. After near 2 hours, my car is done. I repeat...to replace my tire. If I was a walk in, I wouldn't be as upset. But, Pep Boys, it is extremely poor customer service to make an appointment and then not adhere to it. You have wasted my time. At a minimum, have the decency to inform me that you're behind. At least then, I could have left and come back. Woke up on Mother's Day to a flat tire and REALLY didn't want to deal with it during the week. So after a lesiurely morning and running a few errands, I had to find a place that was both open on Sundays and had availability. First place I called coudln't guarantee me they'd be done by the end of the day. Then I called Pep Boys and talked to Mark. He said if I could get there in the next 30 minutes they'd be able to fix it today. Everything was so EASY after that. Mark was great to work with, I got texted a link to 'follow my progress' as I was walking out of the shop, an hour later got a text saying it was done and a few minutes after that a phone call from Mark. When I picked it up he showed me the nail they pulled out of the tire, and best of all it was only $30 to fix the tire. Hope there are no more flats in my near future but if there are will definitely come here! read more

I'm quite pleased with my experience at Pep Boys in Annapolis. I've used their tool rental service a number of times. They've read the codes on engine computers (free) several times. If I'm in a hurry for something car-related I head to Pep Boys. Prices are a tad high but they are right here in town and convenient. I buy oil at Sam's Club and parts I know I need like filters from Amazon. For surprises like wiper blades and light bulbs and other parts I don't expect I use Pep Boys. For special order bits where I want to make sure the part on the exploded diagram is what gets ordered I use Pep Boys. read more

Auto maintenance around here in general isn't for the last minute procrastinator, lemme tell ya. There are no appointments and if there are, you will have to leave your car all day and they'll get to it when they get to it. And I don't like to rely on co-workers to pick me up and drop me off at the dealership so my next option is Pep Boys. Made my appt for Pep Boys online a week in advance. I was there first thing Sat morning at 0800 when they opened and since I was the second one in line (for oil changes), my car was done before 0930. I comfortably waited in their much to be desired but still practical waiting area with the aroma of rubber tires to keep me on a natural high. I don't know if they perform any type of 24 point inspection while they're changing my oil and they didn't review what was done when I paid for it like they do at the dealer. But it was convenient and I'll probably use them again unless I feel like asking my friends for a ride. Price was about the same as the dealership too. read more

Okay, I'd have to say, Pep Boys has come a long way. Even though the turn around time is still very long, you do get quality work done. They are also very generous with the discounts. Their labor warranty is great! If the work was performed there they will work something out to compensate you if the work done did not fix the issue. I am upping my rating for Pep Boys. They really do great work. You can save yourself a lot of trouble if you book online and just plan to leave your vehicle there for a day or more. I flew out of town for the weekend, and dropped my truck off at Pep Boys and had the Super Shuttle pick me up here. It was great! Last week I called the Glen Burnie location for 6 tires for my Ram 3500 and was told they don't have but two tires but Annapolis has 4 and they don't have a lift big enough for my dually anyway. I was told Annapolis can so I called there and ordered the additional 2 tires, he gave me the total for all 6 $215 each plus tax and scheduled Sunday to be put on. I got another call, I think was Thursday, confirming my reservation. I go there today and am told they can't do it. I was then asked when I needed it done and told them I was told I can wait. The one guy chuckled and said no way. So I left. If you can't handle a dually then why quote 6 tires for it? Why do you need to put it on a lift to change the tires? You don't have a jack that can do one side of each axle at a time? I work as an automotive painter and we have a lift but no tire machine. Any lift that can pickup a single wheel pickup will lift a dually. I've worked at shops before that had alignment machines. They too will accommodate a dually. You need to come up with better excuses if your employees don't want to work. read more

The store is an average automobile parts dealer on busy West Street in Annapolis. It is centrally located to most everything and that is why I go there. I needed a tail light for my Toyota. Although everything is "self service" for looking up part numbers these days, the staff behind the HUGE parts counter were very helpful and friendly in providing me the part number for me to go retrieve it. I wanted to buy wiper blades while I was there since they were hanging right next to the bulbs. Well, just like two years ago when I bought my last pair of wipers, there is no book to help me look up the part number. Pep Boys has the audacity to hang a "Neo Reader" bar code (or whatever that thing is called) for you to scan with your smart phone and then it is supposed to open up a website for you to look up the part number online. I bit on this because now there was a crowd at the parts (customer service) counter. The website URL was wrong and the scanned showed the dreaded "invalid URL". Well, I looked on Amazon.com while I was in the store and decided I would just buy it from them since it was cheaper anyway. I bought four tires from this store a couple of years ago with the advice from my brother who said they were the best price. I didn't think I was going to keep the car very long so I went for a low priced tired. I've had one that has had a slow leak since the day I drove it out of the store. I have procrastinated so long in returning it and now it's too late. I procrastinated because the service part of this Pep Boys always seems so busy. I don't have time for that. read more

I came in there for an estimate on fuel line leak an being a master ASE tech, I was highly disappointed at the service department for refusing estimate that I had later got from fitzarald Caddilac , and goss garage 2 in crofton. Both gave estimates in person and on phone. This service department wants to put vehicle on lift to see. I knew what was leaking but due to injury I couldn't do myself. Being coupled with mistakes being performed and had to take back to get corrected in the past with one of tne experience mechanic , service is a rush job when they don't qualify control vehicle and I as customer left with and upside down steering wheel along with other fixes. Ridiculous. I made an appointment ahead of time for an oil change for 1:00, and indicated when I made the appointment that I would be waiting for my car. I arrived a few minutes early, again telling them I would be waiting, and was told they were running "a little behind." It took two full hours for them to get to my simple oil change.
