The coffee itself is fine, but the prices are outrageous. They also charge extra if you don't pay with cash, which feels absurd in 2026. I ordered, sat down, and was told they'd call my name when my drink was ready. After waiting quite a while with no announcement, I went up to the counter and discovered my coffee had been sitting there the whole time--they never called my name. Overall, a disappointing experience. Given the small size and high price, I won't be returning and wouldn't recommend it. There are several other local spots nearby that offer much better value and service.
I've been coming to this spot on and off, and it's consistently solid--though it's definitely a place I visit when I'm "in the mood" for it. People's Coffee shares a space with Town Hall Burger next door (I believe that's where the waffles come from!), and parking is conveniently located right out front. The indoor space isn't large, but there are a couple of long tables that work well for families or friend groups. I especially enjoy the outdoor seating for early morning reading or work, though it can get a bit noisy once the lunch rush hits.The food menu is relatively limited, but if you're into smashed waffles, it's worth a try. The coffee isn't anything special, but here are the two things keeping me come back: One is the chai drinks here because it's nice to have a solid chai option without needing to drive to Cary! The masala chai latte is reliably good, and this time I tried their seasonal strawberry Akashmisi chai. It was summery, unique, and delicious. Second is the thoughtful service. They honestly can get slow at times when there are many people, but they often bring drinks directly to your table and add little inspirational messages on the cups (I am not a fan of the inspirational messages themselves, but always appreciate their effort of personalizing this experience and trying to bring people a smile!!)
Food, coffee, and staff were a 10/10! I had a turkey sausage, egg, and cheese waffle sandwich and a strawberry espresso lemonade. I did wish there was some syrup for my sandwich but it's not a deal breaker. They have plenty of other creative waffles as well and the prices aren't bad at all. You can also order from Town Hall Burger and Beer next door. It's a small and cozy space inside but there is plenty of outdoor seating. Plenty of parking as well.
Going to preface this review by saying that it really is quite difficult to have an exceptionally good or bad experience at a coffee shop - generally, if you can be just a bit better than a Starbucks and have a solid vibe going, I'll be impressed. That being said, People's just felt a little too sterile for it to be on my regular rotation, and nothing else really made up for it. It starts from the fake turf grass outside, and stretches to the assembly line affogato that I didn't bother finishing (soft serve and an espresso shot in a paper cup). Everything just whispers annoyingly loud enough that this came out of a cookie-cutter. Again, it's not that anything was overtly bad - people's just isn't a spot that can really compete with all of the other coffee shops that afford more personality.
Had a yummy breakfast and some drinks at People's. Came here because we saw they had plenty of outdoor seating so we could bring our dogs! The cereal waffle was good. Nothing special and a little pricey for a small waffle. however, we loved the avocado toast. It had plenty of toppings and was delicious. I wish for $11, if would've come with 2 slices of toast instead. we got 2 seasonal drinks to try. Although they were good, the thai tea cold brew tasted nothing like thai tea. Just cold brew mixed with cinnamon. Overall we spent about $30 for all of this, which we thought was a little pricey. the service was pretty fast for a tuesday morning.
On a mission to find the best matcha latte in the triangle and I can confidently say it is NOT here. It was too milk-heavy imo and the matcha was barely noticeable. When I got it, the milk was sitting at the bottom and not mixed fully. I loved the environment, there was plenty of open indoor seating on a Sunday morning. There's also a huge patio with ample space and seating for days with nice weather and sunshine. They have a lot of food options including toast, waffles, and açaí bowls which looked good but I didn't get to try. Service was friendly and fast. I would come back to try a different drink.
What a cute coffee shop!! I finally live on this side of Durham where I'm close to more stuff like People's coffee! It was mt first time visiting but I've heard a lot about it from my friends because they serve Smashed Waffles here and in college Smashed Waffles used to be my favorite place until they closed down on Hillsborough st at NC State. The outside was decorated very cute, like a lawn. It's a very nice place to sit outside and enjoy the weather. The inside is small so I'd suggest getting there early if you wanted somewhere to sit. They have barstools as well. I waited a while because there was only one person working. I had the Masala Chai Latte, and it was really good! I'd probably visit again.
Coffee and staff here are absolutely great. They will work with you and they will produce a good cup of coffee. The location is good and though the inside is small they have a nice outdoor seating area that is partially shared with the adjacent restaurant. I have knocked down a start though because in all of my coffee trips here (I live within a short walking distance). The food has had a hard time keeping in line with the quality of the coffee. I believe it to be primarily a case of them simply not selling enough of it to have everything ready prepped and fresh. However there are a few options next door if you are really in the mood for something to eat.
I really loved my iced chai that I got here. I got an iced chai with oat milk and vanilla and honey and the brand of chai that they used had a nice spice that wasn't too sweet. The barista that helped me was also very nice answering the questions I had about their seasonal flavors.
Little coffee shop that has a nice patio seating in front. It's connected to the business next door in the back (Town Hall Burger & Beer Durham) which it shares a bathroom with. I'm not a big coffee fan so I was here for the smash waffles. They are incredible and worth the visit! I got the savory variety with bacon egg and cheese and I would absolutely return. The cookies and cream was tasty too.
Hands down the best avocado toast I've ever had. And I've had a lot of them. And their waffle treats are extra special too. It's important to note the fantastic outdoor space in front of the restaurant for warm months. Brought my dog here and had a lovely breakfast!!
Cappuccino came out quickly and, even though there is no "real cup" option, it was well made and stayed warm while I was drinking it. The smashed waffle sandwich came out minutes later. I ordered the BFF, which is scrambled eggs, bacon, and cheddar cheese. The sweetness of the waffle mixed perfectly with the smoky, salty bacon and the eggs. I would have preferred the waffle a little more done (it was kinda doughy and chewy), but it held the fillings together well enough to deliver it to my mouth, so I was happy. The interior is very minimal. There are a few very narrow tables and a few seats at the bar (which is crowded with pastries and other things), but wide enough for a laptop and your food/drink. I thought the hall to the restroom led to a larger space in the back, but it actually just connects to the back room of Town Hall Burgers, which shares the building's set of public restrooms. Efficient. And single-user, so gender-neutral. All in all a decent place for all day breakfast and good coffee.
Cute place but just way too expensive. Coffee drinks come in two sizes here, small and large. That's 12oz and 16oz, or tall and grande in Starbucks terms. Menu shows prices for a small size. I ordered "large" (which really is a medium) pecan pie latte, and the upcharge for a "large" size, which is just extra 4 ounces of the drink, was whopping TWO dollars. They were out of oatmilk, but that would have cost another 50 cents, bringing a price of one medium size drink to $8.50. I'm sorry, that's just way too much even for post-covid inflated reality. I liked my coffee, it was enjoyable and had just a touch of sweetness yet familiar notes of pecan pie flavor. But was it worth it? Absolutely not.
This a great place to get coffee and of course breakfast. They are serving it up all day too! The burrito has great flavor. I customized it with egg whites, turkey sausage, and cheddar cheese. It did take over 15 mins to get though. Don't know if was a bad day for them. It won't keep me from coming back! The coffee was solid and the service was super friendly. read more

This was the perfect morning stop during my couple of days in Durham. I ended up with an iced hazelnut latte with oat milk, which was smooth and delicious. Of course, I had to try the Smashed waffles. I got the BFF and the OG. Both were honestly even better than I expected! The staff were notably friendly. It wasn't a shop I would likely stay a while in to do work, as it wasn't very big. But I would certainly go back next time I'm in town! read more

Nice coffee shop in the Southpoint area. Love the decor and ambiance especially the outdoor seating. Plenty of seating and friendly staff that brings your order to your table. I had the cereal mini waffle and the seasonal pumpkin spice coffee. Will definitely be visiting again soon! read more

The place is so cute! Went here for Saturday breakfast and coffee and their coffee was good, nothing spectacular. The waffles though were my favorite! It's a cute coffee shop, supporting local and a place to get your work done. The service was so kind and patient with me and she even gave me some of her favorites as it was my first time there. I'd go back to this place! It was great to sit outside, sip on coffee and hang out with my dog. read more

People's reminds me of Jubala, which is way too far away now that I live in ChatCo, in all the best ways - the single-origin offerings are so smooth and delicious, and these people make a perfect iced caramel latte without making it saccharine. I wish the storefront were a little bigger, cause I'd love to work there occasionally, but it feels a bit too cramped for that to me. (Such little tables!) read more

This place was ok, not the best but not the worst coffee. My Dirty Chai Latte was a little on the milky side but it woke me up which was what I wanted in the first place. We did wait a little longer than anticipated for our coffees because it was rather busy. It was a quick pass through so I suppose we won't be coming back since we are not from the area. read more
I literally have never gotten a latte from here that I haven't liked! My favorite is the iced honey lavender latte... they nailed the flavor without making it too floral-y (yes, I made that word up). Their staff is always super nice and quick with making the drinks too! read more
Stopped in during their opening week and loved the place! It is decorated so cute and has such a calm aesthetic. I also love how responsive they are on social media! I saw that they added food options to their menu and so I had asked if they could share that with me. They were so quick to respond, and I can't wait to stop by again to try some more of their items. Also love that it's easy to grab a good spot. Definitely should be your go to place for coffee if you find yourself going to the mall. read more
The space and decor are pretty simple, but the drinks and food are decidedly above average. They've been introducing more food dishes like avocado toast, breakfast burritos, sweet potato hash, etc. Besides the usual coffee drinks they have some original fare like a dirty horchata (horchata with a shot of espresso) and some original lemonade drinks. When the weather is nice, they also open up a window to the sidewalk and set up barstools. I'm not a huge coffee drinker but this place is growing on me. read more
Beautiful place with tons of parking around. You walk in and you see the doodle wall and it's beautiful. There's a long table you work at and one by the window. The other seating area is lower so you have to place your laptop on your lap. There's free WiFi and the coffee is great. They also have pastries in the back. They have a small menu where you can find chia pudding, overnight oats, and balls with health in it. Great overall and the instrumental music is not too loud. read more

Terrible coffee, terrible waffles, and the WORST customer service I've ever experienced. I asked them to remake a raw undercooked waffle and was shocked at being accused of eating too much of the waffle (1 bite) and wanting a free one. Not to mention the iced latte had chunks of solid caramel in it, making it impossible to drink. I would never visit this coffee shop again because of the staff alone. read more

One aspect of this coffee shop that I love is the aesthetic. I love walking in and taking in the minimalist, clean feel. It is thoughtful decorated and I can really appreciate it. The seating is well spread out and even though there is almost always a decent amount of people there, it never feels crowded. I go here because it is located close to my home but it is also consistently delicious. Coming from a coffee snob, their coffee is GOOD. I always order a pour over and I'm never disappointed. Their coffee is from Black & White Coffee Roasters which personally I think is the best in the area. Another thing that is unique about this coffee shop is their food (!!!). It's actually delicious! I have had their breakfast sandwich and quinoa salad. Both did not disappoint. Very impressive especially for a coffee shop. They not only offer coffee but tea, kombucha, and brunch! Some of the employees aren't very knowledgeable about coffee but I think it's because the shop is owned by the burger joint next door. Despite their lack of knowledge of speciality coffee they are friendly and hard working. Overall, I go here very often and really enjoy it. Yay! read more
I love local businesses! This is one is easy to support! They have great coffee form Black and White out of Wakeforest, and they make their own syrups! It's Original, simple, great music, great WiFi, great baristas. I haven't had a bad experience. Come check them out! read more

What a pleasant surprise! This coffee shop is tucked next to Aldi and Townhall Burger (conveniently close to the shoppes at Southpoint ie Target and the mall). This place is absolutely fantastic. We all enjoyed our drinks! I especially enjoyed my "dealers choice" of a drink. I told the barista that I would love an afternoon pick me up! An iced chai Latte with pomegranate sister with house made almond milk fit the bill!! read more

I was in the neighborhood and saw this cute little coffee shop where they were serving through an even cuter window. Tried the honey vanilla latte with almond milk and it was a delicious treat. For a coffee lover, the drink was perfect. Not overwhelming but just the kick I needed to get through the day. I'll be back. read more
