My friend and I, and her special needs son, went in yesterday between 1:30 and 2:00 in the afternoon, and while we saw a couple of open tables, they indicated they were not serving anyone at that time. Having a special needs individual with us, I feel we were discriminated against. I liked the exterior it had that nostalgic diner look. I was there for breakfast and the place was busy but I found a booth. The place wasn't real clean and the staff was less than freindly. My waitress was eating her breakfast behind the counter while while performing her duties. I ordered eggs,bacon,hashbrowns and whole wheat toast. The breakfast was okay except for the soggy bacon. I thought the prices were a dollar more than fair. In summary a not so clean place with poor customer service, average food and prices that are a little high. This was a nice stop on a long drive from Denver to SLC. It does double duty as the front desk for the motel behind it and being a diner. Apparently, there are several of these making it a limited chain. We went in, they took our names, and had us wait in the car until there was a place open. They are practicing good COVID practice, even if some of the guests don't seem to. I got the Philly Cheesesteak and the wife got a patty melt. No, it did not taste like it would in Philly, but it was very good as was the patty melt. It was worth needing to spent 45 minutes listening to a book in the car while we waited. read more

Well, I should have been tipped off when I noticed the check in for the motel was inside the diner. The lady at the front was friendly enough but she was checking someone in as she took my money for dinner. Where to start... The place only had 4 people eating so I figured service would be fast and friendly. It was fast enough but the guy cooking/took our order/seated us was far from friendly. Chili cheeseburger w/fries. The fries were fine but that's all that was. One hamburger patty on the bottom half of the bun. No top half. Covered in what they called chili. It had beans so it wasn't chili. No flavor at all. Let's definitely not call this guy a chef. Not even a cook. I'll call him "Microwave Man" because that's all he did. Someone orders chili dogs. I watched as he put 2 dogs in the microwave and zap them. After he put the "chili" on my burger, he threw a little shredded cheese on top and zapped it too. Someone else had ordered a side of mixed veg. I watched as he put a baggie with veggies into the microwave and "cooked" them. Why he was wearing gloves I don't know. He not only touched food with them, he touched everything else as well. You'd be better off going to the store and getting bologna and white bread. The whole place could really use a good scrub down as well. This has got to be one of the worst I've ever been to. Yelp really needs to update their app so we can leave 0 stars. The staff is friendly, the place is a quaint old diner and clean. I had a cheese burger and chips. That burger was actually grilled on a grill and not the flat top. The cinnamon roll was gigantic Then! On the return trip through Rawlins we stopped here again and had just the opposite experience. It took 20 minutes to get water.
