We stopped into the location because it was close to where we were staying, and we were really hungry. The building is divided into two areas, restaurant and bar. We opted to sit in the restaurant, since there was no one else in there. While we were there, several people came in and went back to the bar. We wondered if we should have sat in there instead since it was favored by the locals. We ordered appetizer to share between the two of us, and I ordered a cup of their chicken rice soup of the day. The soup was the star of my meal. I wish I'd gotten a bowl instead, since it had good flavor, and hit the spot. The appetizer, on the other hand, was underwhelming. I tried the deep fried mushrooms, cheese sticks, and buffalo chicken strips. The mushrooms were the best of this grouping. The cheese sticks had a funky, freezer-burnt flavor that I didn't care for. The buffalo sauce was way too spicy for my palate and the chicken strips were doused in it, so I couldn't even scrape it off to eat the chicken. My husband said the jalapeno poppers were pretty flavorless. I'm not sure how much longer this restaurant will be able to survive with little to no patrons, and lack luster food. So we did not see many options to eat in Rawling. When we got there there were a lot of cars in the parking lot. True some were junk cars but it looked ok. The reviews were a little harsh but we decided to give it a try. I had to laugh at the comments that the place should be called Crappies. I ordered the hamburger steak with salad and mashed potatoes. It was actually pretty good. It wasn't just a small hamburger patty but a good sized piece of meat. It was well seasoned but the mashed potatoes were from a box. I got the Spicy Chicken Ranch that was described as "Cajun seasoned" but it tasted like it was just fried and then tossed in Tobasco. Not the worst but not what I was expecting. First we placed our order over the phone and the lady was super nice, we order the two egg classic it came with hash browns, toast and eggs, you have the opt to add bacon or sausage which is a different price no biggie. I order one with bacon the other just no meat, when I got to the place everyone was nice the decor was interesting and not in a bad way. While waiting I wanted to change my order where I received bacon as well. I must have told the wrong person because my order came out to a high price then what I thought and by time I realized that she had already slide my card. After looking at my receipt I notice they charge me $5 for a side of bacon. I told the lady I just wanted to change my order to have bacon now and according to the meaning it should have $9 something. She looked like she had an attitude with the whole situation and she advise me, I should have told her instead of the other girl. Stopped in for dinner on our way to Salt Lake City. It is located, conveniently, right off I80. I had the sub club and liked that it was toasted. The sliced onion was a bit too thick for my liking. But other than that the sandwich was delicious. The homemade fries were limp and tasteless so it was easy not to eat them all. I had asked for scrambled eggs and hash browns crispy, my eggs were stone cold and the hash browns were basically raw potato and cold. My father ordered the bacon and egg breakfast, it was entirely cold including his hash browns being raw as well. Very good burger. Stopped in one afternoon after work. It was well worth it. The restaurant is on the far west end of town away from all the other restaurants. I think it must be the place the locals come to. There were several families and plenty of laughter. I saw several other plates that had hearty portions.
