We stopped into the location because it was close to where we were staying, and we were really hungry. The building is divided into two areas, restaurant and bar. We opted to sit in the restaurant, since there was no one else in there. While we were there, several people came in and went back to the bar. We wondered if we should have sat in there instead since it was favored by the locals. We ordered appetizer to share between the two of us, and I ordered a cup of their chicken rice soup of the day. The soup was the star of my meal. I wish I'd gotten a bowl instead, since it had good flavor, and hit the spot. The appetizer, on the other hand, was underwhelming. I tried the deep fried mushrooms, cheese sticks, and buffalo chicken strips. The mushrooms were the best of this grouping. The cheese sticks had a funky, freezer-burnt flavor that I didn't care for. The buffalo sauce was way too spicy for my palate and the chicken strips were doused in it, so I couldn't even scrape it off to eat the chicken. My husband said the jalapeno poppers were pretty flavorless. I'm not sure how much longer this restaurant will be able to survive with little to no patrons, and lack luster food. I'm not planning to return. read more

Great burgers. Great fresh cut fries. One of few places to get Real Milkshake. 5 star there. Clean Friendly waitress.

Just went to Cappys for dinner food was great service was good highly recommend when in Rawlins Wyoming

So we did not see many options to eat in Rawling. When we got there there were a lot of cars in the parking lot. True some were junk cars but it looked ok. The reviews were a little harsh but we decided to give it a try. I had to laugh at the comments that the place should be called Crappies. I ordered the hamburger steak with salad and mashed potatoes. It was actually pretty good. It wasn't just a small hamburger patty but a good sized piece of meat. It was well seasoned but the mashed potatoes were from a box. If you are driving through and are desperate give this a chance. read more

The casual atmosphere is just right for the worker needing a meal or the traveler. The French dip sandwich was the right size to split along with cottage cheese. Our order came already split with plenty of aujuice for both of us. Both plates were garnished with dill pickle chips. Their specials were on an illuminated sign as you walked in the door. The waitress was cute, respectful, and patient with us. 5 stars given for food and service read more

I will try and keep this nice. When we sat down, we had no idea what we wanted. Menu's came and we decided to have fajitas. This is not a Mexican restaurant. The meat should have been thrown out. The beans were absolutely tasteless. The rice was something from Chef boy ar dee. Excuse my spelling. It looks like a nice place and I am sure a person could find something that they like, probably not the fajitas. read more

We wanted some breakfast while on the road and I found this place on Yelp and it nice reviews so we came on by. First we placed our order over the phone and the lady was super nice, we order the two egg classic it came with hash browns, toast and eggs, you have the opt to add bacon or sausage which is a different price no biggie. I order one with bacon the other just no meat, when I got to the place everyone was nice the decor was interesting and not in a bad way. While waiting I wanted to change my order where I received bacon as well. I must have told the wrong person because my order came out to a high price then what I thought and by time I realized that she had already slide my card. After looking at my receipt I notice they charge me $5 for a side of bacon. I told the lady I just wanted to change my order to have bacon now and according to the meaning it should have $9 something. She looked like she had an attitude with the whole situation and she advise me, I should have told her instead of the other girl. I wanted her to take it off but she said it would have charge my card again. At this point I said nevermind and took my food. She wasn't happy and I don't care because it was my money! Would I come back probably not, but you can for sure try the place out, the food is not bad at all. read more

Don't be fooled by the outside( needs paint). The breakfast here was amazing, our waitress was very attentive and food was served fast! It looks recently remodeled inside. Will definitely stop by again on our way to Salt Lake City. read more

I stopped here while driving through the town, it was the last place before getting back on the interstate and nothing else caught my attention. I got the Spicy Chicken Ranch that was described as "Cajun seasoned" but it tasted like it was just fried and then tossed in Tobasco. Not the worst but not what I was expecting. The fries were undercooked, like half of some fries didn't make it into the fry oil. The experience was still decent because the staff was super friendly, the food came out very fast, and the tables and bathroom seemed pretty clean. read more

We had breakfast and it was delicious. The people of this family restaurant are very hospitable and we will definitely come back on our trips to Idaho. read more

I was in Rawlins for a couple days and ate dinner here twice. Both times the food was excellent. (Cheese burger, salad, french dip) Service was fine too. I would definitely go here again on another trip through town. read more

Good food , eggs a little overdone. Server was great! Quick with a great smile!! I would come again. read more

Huevos rancheros with their signature green chilli sauce was excellent! Friendly staff and fast service.

Great food and service! There are some negative reviews, but our experience was wonderful.

SLOW! stoped for lunch, selected special and took an hour! Food came out warm but was tasty.

Dropped in for lunch with my wife. Clean place with great service. I had chicken strips and salad followed by strawberry pie--very good! Wife had sandwich with fries and followed with lemon meringue pie-also very good! Waitress very helpful; food came out hot. Would recommend! read more

Definitely a locals establishment. Didn't feel super welcomed when my husband and I entered the bar, but it wasn't I'll-mannered. The breakfast is just ok. It was busy, so it's understandable that service would be slower than usual... not a problem. I'm sure there are redeeming items on the menu such as safe bar bites, but we weren't super impressed. My husband got the tacos and he thought the ground beef to be done well. Mozzarella sticks to be expected. Spicy chicken sandwich, decent. Casino games were a plus and it's one of the only booze breakfasts in town. read more

Tried the chicken fried steak and it was awful. The cook "fried" it too long and burned it. The mashed potatoes and gravy were ok but not a lot of flavor. So disappointed. read more

Horrible! We stopped here for breakfast and it was awful. Our food came out warm instead of hot, the eggs were burnt along the edges and my over easy egg was closer to over medium. My husband's biscuits and gravy tasted like something out of a can and had cut up sausage links in it. It was not good at all. It took forever to get our meal. This place need a new cook. The one thing that was good was the orange juice! read more

The service was fast and relatively friendly but the food was very poor. The beef fajitas had an odd seasoning, the taco salad was large but unbalanced, served very plain. Had to request salsa, sour cream and guacamole. The taco meat was seasoned well but seemed wet/mushy. The guacamole was very salty. The bathroom had missing toilet paper in at least one stall and no paper towels and stayed that way during our entire stay at the restaurant. I would not recommend read more

We just couldn't stand the free hotel breakfast in plastic bags so we headed to Cappy's. We enjoyed the most delicious pancakes, hash browns, bacon, eggs, omelets and friendly service you can ask for. read more

The food here is plane and good very filling. The 5 star review is for our waitress didn't get her name but she went above and beyond

Stopped in for dinner on our way to Salt Lake City. It is located, conveniently, right off I80. I had the sub club and liked that it was toasted. The sliced onion was a bit too thick for my liking. But other than that the sandwich was delicious. The homemade fries were limp and tasteless so it was easy not to eat them all. I also saw one of the waitresses (thankfully, not ours!) drop the cloth on the floor, then proceed to wipe the table. I guess she believes in the five second rule! read more

Cappy's Restaurant & Bar - Diners Near Me - Rawlins, Wyoming

Good food. Some of the best chicken fried steak I've had. It's not deep fried like most, but breaded and fried on a grill. Some reviewers complained the the breading comes off when cooked this way and that's true, but it only comes off a little as you eat it so it didn't bother me since it tasted better this way I thought. Only downside is they are closed on Monday and Tuesday. read more

I ordered the Walleye fish! Amazing!! We were passing through and decided to stop by for a quick meal. The restaurant is dated but gave me great vibes. If I lived near this restaurant, I would be a regular! And.... The yeast bread!! Yummm read more

Better be hungry! Food is fresh home made and dang good. Staff is way cool and funny.

Stopped here in our travels. Breakfast was very good and ample portions. Waitress was very professional and attentive.

Bottom line: If you have the option, keep moving. Service is good (for the most part), breakfast.... not so much. I ordered chicken fried steak with hash browns, eggs, and toast. The best part of the breakfast was the toast. The Chicken fried steak was chewy and the breading just fell apart. I had asked for scrambled eggs and hash browns crispy, my eggs were stone cold and the hash browns were basically raw potato and cold. My father ordered the bacon and egg breakfast, it was entirely cold including his hash browns being raw as well. The restaurant it's self is a bit odd and the restroom was a mess, and when walking out the guy that came to clean it started making comments to himself about me being the one that made the mess. Overall, I know it's a small town with minimal options, but I would stay away from this place for breakfast. read more

Stopped in on our road trip. Great down home food and service. Chicken fried steak and huevos ranchero were awesome!

Should call it Crappy's. Terrible hash browns, greasy. Find somewhere else to eat. I'm choosing subway next time

Best breakfast pancakes! Light and delicious. My husband had basic breakfast cooked to perfection and the service is fast, friendly and efficient. Highly recommended. read more

Very good burger. Stopped in one afternoon after work. It was well worth it. The restaurant is on the far west end of town away from all the other restaurants. I think it must be the place the locals come to. There were several families and plenty of laughter. I saw several other plates that had hearty portions. I look forward to visiting there again. read more

Stopped here for dinner and yes they had steak/chicken etc and then I asked for a vegetable/vegetables and they offer none zero other than potatoes, what kind of restaurant doesn't offer even one vegetable but prior to attempting to order food I asked for a vodka on the rocks and well and was charged $8 for well vodka I would hate to see what they would charge for call which would surly be $9 or $10 dollars, I paid for the drink and left and never to return again read more

Kinda sad to give a bad review, when so close to being good. Server delivered food and didn't ask if we needed anything else until we were finished. I just had a side salad. Don't mind paying the price, if they weren't so stingy with lettuce mix and just 2 cherry tomatoes . Had to ask for crackers, no croutons...even on the chef salad. read more
