I have had some shitty experiences in the past but this one takes the cake. Got seated after the waitress tried to seat locals first even though we were standing there first. Got our coffee quick sat nearly 20 min before finally getting to order. We then sat another 40 minutes with 3 different excuses and watched tables of very obviously locals order and get their food all sat after us. All we ordered was a pancake and French toast. We were there for an hour and ten minutes before finally leaving never receiving food. If you are not a local. Do Not Go Here! read more

We travel to Saratoga several times a year for business. We always try to eat here at least once during our trips. We enjoy the breakfast menu and have eaten lunch as well. Our server is always extremely pleasant and their outside patio sits right along the river, providing a beautiful view. read more

Pretty enjoyable breakfast spot if you are able to get a table outside! It is usually in the shade and it is right on the river so it is really fresh for some coffee. Told me they have a strict no pets policy, and as I was leaving a dog comes into the restaurant and was allowed to stay inside the restaurant. Wouldn't let us sit outside. 2 stars for Discrimination against Cats. (contained in carrier). Also forgot my side of bacon. food is only ok for the price. read more

Glad the older reviews were ignored and we tried this place. The food was comforting, I got the Million $$ burger which was delicious. Onion rings on the side had great seasoning on them. There is a nice patio seating area directly next to the river which created a nice relaxing atmosphere for lunch. Will definitely be going back while we are in town. read more

As a bicyclist passing through Saratoga I decided to have breakfast here. I had the Spanish Skillet and substituted a pancake for the toast. I was extremely impressed. The waitress was very polite and attentive and the food was wonderful. The skillet had just the right amount of jalapeño to keep it flavorful but not too hot. The pancake was perfect. There is also a outside dining area with a view of the river. I will definitely return here again if the opportunity arises. read more

The very best place in Saratoga to eat at.. heavy duty BEEF burgers, not from CHINA. Only thing is that they close a 2pm. They need a life too. The place for breakfast! Great patio along the river! Sit outside, if weather permits. This is a no frills diner type place serving a solid breakfast (and lunch - but have never tried it). Nothing too fancy. but it's hot and cooked to order. And the coffee is decent. You will leave full and satisfied. The country ham and green chile are both really good. Get one of those, or both, with your meal. The service is efficient, but maybe not overly friendly. Which is fine... they are probably so tired of yuckin' it up with out of towners ;) read more

The sandwich was a little soggy and looked as if they literally just threw the food into the box (none of the meat was even in the sandwich). The food was okay, nothing too special. Over the years this building has been many things. It was a drive in for many years and then the old building virtually got removed(or perhaps did) and another diner with new owners replaced it, followed by a Pizza Hut and now Hugus & CO which has gone back to the diner theme. Everyone that works there seems very nice and eager to assist. The building is right by the North Platte River so you can get a wonderful view while you are eating! The restaurant serves primarily hamburgers and Mexican Food. I sampled some of the burgers and fries which were great but I ordered a Indian Taco. As much as I wanted to like it I simply did not. Of course I am very, very picky when it comes to Mexican Food. The Indian Taco instead of a deep fried with a light flaky tortilla type thing as my previous Indian Tacos at other places have been this one seemed to be deep fried pizza dough with green chile and all of the fixings on top. It tasted like pizza. I wasn't terribly impressed with the green chile either but I am sure some people would find this dish here enjoyable. I simply did not. read more

I almost gave this three stars because the servers were not very friendly. In fact, our server was borderline rude. However, the food was fantastic. We ate breakfast and lunch there. The burgers were fantastic. They use hand-formed patties using local fresh, not frozen, ground beef. For breakfast I had biscuits and gravy. I normally shy away from ordering this in restaurants because I have been disappointed so many times. Not this time! We had originally stopped in to have breakfast but found out that they stopped serving breakfast at 11. The lunch menu had a good variety. The husband and I decided to have the Hen House Burger with onion rings (excellent). The daughter had the Fish and chips (large portions). The son had the Big nose dog. Everything was served hot, crispy and tasted fresh. The service couldn't have been better. She was friendly attentive and on time with refills. So sad to say this was a super disappointment. We had lunch there on a previous trip to Saratoga and had a good lunch sitting next to the river. We tried to have breakfast there today and sat for 30 minutes with no service beyond coffee and water delivered by the bus boy. It appeared there was one waitress working and another waiter just wandering around. And, the waitress was busing tables while trying to serve the whole restaurant. Left and went to the Saratoga Spa & Resort for a perfect breakfast and dining experience. As we sat waiting for service, we could not miss the array of dead bugs on the window ledge. I get by here 3-4 times a year. Was there Saturday morning and the food for both myself and my wife was bad. Hash browns white, cold and soggy on the bottom, crispy on top: Obviously frozen and not cooked enough. Wife's huevos rancheros were fried eggs over recently canned beans. Blah. Bad food made worse by a real bad attitude from the staff. Obnoxious rock music on loud on the river porch. I (used to) like to eat out there. Did I mention "LOUD?" I like rock music as well as the next guy, but 100 db at 0800 on Saturday? Local station, was not good rock, either. "Maybe your could lower that volume just a teeny bit?" Nope, manager won't let us. (Manger is a meany, I guess) "That music is pretty obnoxious," sez I: Sorry, no can do. Asked three times if it might be turned down a bit. Nope, go straight to hell: Pretty much f&*k you. I've seen this before in poorly managed restaurants. Kids come in early, set up, turn up music too loud, won't budge. Pure contempt for the customer. No tip from me (yup, that guy). Don't worry, I won't be bothering you about what passes for music in those parts since I won't be back. Listen, eat where you want, lord knows there are not many place to eat in Saratoga , but consider somewhere else. Couple of good restaurants in Walden, only an hour away. These folks have an attitude, their food is bad, and they have an attitude. So here's the tip I didn't leave on Saturday: Cook the friggin' hash browns so they aren't frozen any more, lose your bad attitude and turn down the obnoxious music when a paying customer asks you to do so.
