Being extremely last minute (like every year) for my Halloween costume I was a bit worried everything would be picked over. Not to worry, I found a perfect "Summer of Love" 50th Anniversary costume that will bring me back to the 60's and living on Haight Street. They've been available when I have questions, and seem to have a lot of knowledge when it comes to their products. I like the variety of what they carry, especially given that it's a small-ish store, and in fact I find they carry a better variety for children than the child-specific store down the street. My only complaint is that the products can be quite pricey, however I feel like that's kind of on par with smaller stores and with the area. ETA: My partner was with me one of the subsequent times that I went, as I've been to Mrs. Greenway a few times now. As a visibly LGBTQ person of colour, she said she's always a bit wary of new places in predominantly white areas, but felt totally welcome at Mrs. Greenway with no concerns.

Warning - this is definitely not the Kings Cross store visitors to Dundas may remember. Although…read morethe location on King Street has changed, the store is still called Kings Cross and a sign on the door says only that British foods and confectionaries are no longer sold. Looking in the door we could see clothing with logos of England, Wales etc., but the store was closed, so we returned on the next day it was open. But when we went in to purchase some of that clothing (for a Father's Day gift), we got an earful from the owner about how we must not be very regular customers, since the store hadn't sold such goods for three years and had to stop selling retail because customers have no loyalty. An odd thing to say to customers who took the time to find the store at its new location and travelled from out of town (twice!) to make a purchase as soon as in-person shopping was allowed. And, of course, recent visits haven't really been possible or prudent since retail stores have been for the most part closed and/or in-person shopping discouraged for nearly a year and a half now. It seems the store is now selling only wholesale which, given the owner's opinion of retail customers, is likely best for all concerned. If the owner doesn't want to be bothered by customers looking for the "old" Kings Cross, a change of name, or posting a sign letting everyone know that the retail store no longer exists (rather than just one saying that British food is no longer sold at the store) would probably help.

There is plenty of parking in front of the store. I found a spot, parked my car, and walked in. Valentine's Day had just ended. There were lots of clearance chocolate and plushies. There were also Easter candies and merchandise next to the Valentine's Day items. Pretty much everything at the Dollar Tree is $1.25. There are exceptions, though. Canned pop was going for $1. I was happy to stumble upon this tidbit of information. I do wish that Dollar Tree stores in Canada had a frozen food section with breakfast items and ice cream like their stores over the border do. Instead, I looked at all the candy, chocolate, and chips that I wanted, but had enough willpower to put down. I ended up getting a cute eyeglasses case with elephants on it. I was so pleased with my find. It was the only one left and I love elephants. Kathy was the cashier and she was so nice. She asked me if I wanted a little bag. I declined, saying that it seemed meta to ask for a bag for a case. She shared her story about one man who wanted a bag for each item that he had bought. They were small items. Yikes! The order was for a special event coming up and 150 of these special cards were needed in less than a few days. I handled the redesign and needed a fast printer who could deliver 150 cards in 24 hours for an affordable price, otherwise I'd be explaining to accounting why I was expensing so much on business cards when we just went through a resupply less than a month ago. Impressive was nothing short of their namesake. After checking with a few others in town, I couldn't find a decent price that came close to our usual print partners headquartered out near Caledon (they would have taken a bit longer and usually only handle much larger orders to restock us for a year's worth of business cards, stationary, etc). Thinking my only solution was going to have me bite the bullet and write a letter to accounting along with a full expense report I was ready to give up. I won't list all the prices or competitors, but on the high side one printer quoted me shy of $170. Kevin at Impressive took the time to show me what weight paper we could use as well as printed up a few samples to show color reproduction. His quote was also VERY agreeable. As the company I work for is in the midst of voting for a rebranding, that also means changing our printing partners. Kevin and all those at Impressive will definitely be brought up by me at our next meeting and even if that falls through, they have my personal business for life. Go on, swing into Impressive to take a look, it'll be well worth it.

I don't doubt their quality of printing as what I witnessed from this small company is good but this print shop has to be one of the more expensive places in Hamilton. I got 3 quotes for the identical job. I placed my order with a printer on Lansing Drive Hamilton on the mountain. Yes this printer does small and large format signs. Not only did I pay almost HALF of what I was quoted, by Impressive they also did my design service as I was in a rush. I got same day delivery too!
