Will definitely keep coming back. Great food and atmosphere. Service was on point and food came out hot and fresh. 2 thumbs up!

Another struggling family restaurant business during COVID. A single slice of white toast with what tastes like diluted strawberry ice cream topping costs $2.50.

The level of creativity and flavor that they create, without losing "traditional" southern feel, is truly amazing. Love this place.

Great food, great breakfast. They have traditional burger joint food but also some amazing healthy options like quinoa and keto bowls.

I ordered an egg white omelet with steak and cheese, and it was hands down the best-tasting egg white dish I've ever had--the seasoning was perfect!

The staff was friendly, patient, and hustling through the morning rush. I did get a giggle when my apple fritter showed up on the receipt as "Apple Critter" and my Bavarian cream was labeled "White Filled Donut." Not wrong, just... delightfully literal. I grabbed a dozen for coworkers and an apple fritter plus a Bavarian cream for myself. Both pastries had good flavor, but the texture threw me. They were unusually dense - not the fluffy, airy interior I expect from a fresh donut. I'm not sure whether the dough needed more rise time or a different balance in the recipe, but something in the process made everything feel heavier than it should've. Inside is lively and very much a breakfast spot, not just a donut-and-run joint. You've got people ordering plates, grabbing coffee, chatting, and the whole place has that small-town morning energy. Busy, loud in a friendly way, and full of regulars who clearly love it. I'd come back for breakfast or coffee without hesitation -- the atmosphere and service make it an easy choice. As for the donuts, I'll keep taste-testing my way through Whiteville until I find "the one."

Walking in, it raised many memories of my youth: not fancy or particularly clean (especially the restrooms) yet greeted by pleasant smiles, friendly servers & staff, always more important to me/us! Our server was quick with taking and returning with our drink orders. She followed with attention to the time we needed to decide on our orders. Further, she was one of only 2 servers of a completely full dining room! I'm so disappointed I didn't get her name...I just didn't want to interrupt her industrious focus. Each of the 4 of us ordered a brunch item: eggs, omelette, and waffle with either country ham, bacon, sausage and/or grits, and coffee, that my husband stated "was the BEST!" A disappointment I do have is the condition of the restroom. It neglects an opportunity to reflect the positive qualities of the "front of the house" yet, we would return to Waffle International if ever passing through again.

Pulling up to this place you can tell that this is visibly a hole in the wall restaurant. The outside looked tired (old) and is not appealing to customers. But, it was still busy, as this is cited as the "best breakfast" in Whiteville. That is undeniably subjective. When you walk in you will notice that most things look dirty (except your table). The floor is sticky, the bathrooms are dirty, and the paint on the wall is peeling. It is also dark on the inside (poor lighting). Our food took about an hour to get to our table. My waffle was actually great, meanwhile my eggs and bacon and all of my dad's food were cold. This is because our server left our food that came out first sitting instead of giving it to us, and waited for my waffle to come out. We would have rather had that food first while it was hot, and I would have been fine with getting my waffle afterwards. That was disappointing. What bumps it up to 2 starts instead of 1 is the service. Our server was nice, and frequently checked on ALL of her tables.

To give you an idea, my husband and I ate there this evening and here's what we had (all excellent). Appetizers: tuna tartare with capers, wasabi, sesame seeds, lettuce, and crisps. It was well balanced and delicious. The other appetizer was Cambodian Spring Rolls, which were perfectly browned, and eaten by placing them in a romaine lettuce leaf with crumbled peanuts and dipping it in an amazing but light sauce. The textures and flavors played off of each other wonderfully, elevating it far above any regular spring roll you may be thinking of. For entrees, my husband had the special, Paella (saffron rice, mussels, shrimp, clams, and a whole crab, red bell pepper). Every item was perfectly cooked, neither undercooked nor overcooked and it tasted fantastic. My entree was perfectly cooked pan-seared salmon filet, with perfectly grilled large asparagus and the most amazing take on grits I have ever had (not your mama's breakfast grits). They were delicately flavored with butter, a hint of cheese and I don't know what else but it understated while still having flavors that seemed too complex for grits to have, without being overdone. There are menu items for both the more and less adventurous diner, and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. A gem in the middle of nowhere.

I like the ambiance too, they have elevated ceilings and the dining area is spacious, and it's clean Remember when KFC was good? Well Smithfield's has captured that with their tenders, the meat is tender and juicy, the breading is good and well seasoned it really is what I remember KFC being, delicious. Bbq pork was good, nice and meaty, needs some sauce though, not sure if you're supposed to ask for it separately or what but it was good, just needs sauce, the hush puppies were on point as well, Cole slaw and potato salad all very good I'd be more than willing to come back and try more of the menu
