If you care about your house - walk away (actually run!!) and hire someone else. If you want a bunch of excuses and ruined floors - this moving company is for you! We had some heavy items to be moved and because they didn't bring enough movers they DRAGGED one of the pieces across the room which resulted in pretty significant damage to the floors. They will tell you if you don't purchase the extended insurance they are not liable for the damage. I'd say if you don't know how to move things maybe you should not be moving them, eh? Such nice people, hard workers, friendly but lots of damage and breakage. I was surprised my breakage was hidden from me! Heartbroken to find thing when I open drawers! Called one of the owners and he had the move call me. Mario is the best, sweetest, Linder's person you will ever meet. He never should have had to call me. The owner should of called. Mario was limited with what he was authorized to do, and his brother in law never called me back as Mario was sure he would. My case was handled very unprofessional. My $5,000 media armoire was so damaged and hidden from me. Six of my Portmarian dishes were broken by the 15 year old owner son not knowing how to pack dishes. He was always very sweet, had a lot of empathy, just needed more training. I have waited four weeks thinking this is a family owned business and they know how to make things right. I've moved three times in the past six months - once within SF and twice between the Bay Area and Carmel. I've experienced a variety of movers that provided various levels of thoroughness. For this particular move, my movers cancelled on me the day of the move pretty late in the morning, wanting to move me the next day. That wasn't an option as I was fleeing a situation with a very hostile living situation and a landlord on the property that misuses alcohol. I didn't feel safe staying there at all. I called G Brothers and they said they could do it the next day and then called back and were pretty flaky and wishy washy in pricing and then just backed out. I gratefully found Mario and his nephew and they were able to be there within ninety minutes of me calling to request the move. I didn't mention I needed packing too. That being said they wrapped the furniture in blankets and plastic, nothing was damaged (haven't finished unpacking but I'm sure everything is fine), not even the glasses which were put into boxes I already have without paper. In my other moves, larger companies with packers with paper broke expensive china by dropping it and then hiding it, or things somehow broke in the paper. So that being said, moving 2.5 hours away with limited packing materials on a last minute move, up an epically difficult staircase in a mini-forest to move me into a cottage late at night was solid service. Especially when I couldn't figure out which room to put the bed into. Super kind team, authentic and real. My only minicomplaint is the high price with insurance $125 + $40 for insurance, that being said - it was a last minute move and they essentially were working again the next morning at 6am. This company responded quickly to my request for moving service. I had another company lined up to assist me in the move, but they had to cancel the day before my scheduled move day for personal reasons. PP&M took the job through a text message. I want to premise my saying that Nine months prior I hired movers to move my one bedroom apartment and they changed me $300. It took two hours total. Therefore, I was expecting to pay around the same being that peninsula pack and move only charge five dollars more an hour than I paid previously and I had the same amount of stuff that I had previously. This is how the event went down with PP and M: Two high school boys showed up 45 minutes late. Two hours in they weren't done loading the truck. I became concerned about how much money this was gonna cost me at that point and didn't wanna be rude and tell them to hurry up. Instead, I started moving things closer to the truck to make it easier for them and to expedite the process. I was hoping they would get the hint that they were working too slowly. At this point I wanted to contact the owner of the company, but was confused as to who was responding to my text messages as I thought it was the Mover's themselves. As the original text message never said he was sending anybody different. The boys carried as little as possible at a time and never broke a sweat. They didn't use any saran to wrap any of my items and my mattress ended up dirty. Even though we discussed wrapping it, it was not done. At the receiving end, I asked the boys to pick up their pace. They responded by saying they were sorry, but continued to work slowly. Boxes were placed in the apartment randomly instead of according to the room that was labeled on the boxes. The boys ended up taking six hours to move my belonging. One of the boys borrowed my broom to sweep out his truck, and never returned it to me. I've moved many, many times and have NEVER been charged so highly. I paid $155 an hour which I thought was reasonable; however, six hours to move the stuff was not reasonable. The move ended up costing me $930. I didn't want to pay the full charge, but was afraid that they would retaliate because they know what I drive and they know where I live. Maybe I just got really lucky all the other times I paid less to move! I know we are experiencing inflation right now, but I paid a 300% increase, not 7%, which is what I've read is our current inflation rate. read more

Our family was very impressed by the quality and the respectfulness that the movers demonstrated while moving all of our belongings. Upon their arrival they got straight to work and respectfully checked in with us before moving items and never complained about all of our ridiculous requests. They charged me more than $650 for 4 hours of moving, couldn't give me a cost breakdown to explain the charges, took an extra hour to go get tools that they forgot to bring and then when came back they said they could disassemble the tv mount but they couldn't reassemble it at the new location for some reason. Great job! While planning our move from Pacific Grove to San Diego on October 26 we ran int scheduling problems. Just when our situation seemed dire we called Peninsula and talked to Mario. He was polite, confident and accommodating. We scheduled our move on the day we need to. He and his brother arrived a bit late but they loaded the truck efficiently. We arrived at our new home at 8pm and Mario arrived within a half hour. They unloaded the truck and were off in less than two hours. Being able to do our move the same day was a tremendous help. Peninsula pack and move offers an insurance policy that they want you to sign on but they give no details on what that insurance policy covers. Mario and team saved the day. My elderly parents were moving out of a tiny home with few furniture and we all thought it would be easy. Wrong. My mother called me the night before the move and said she gave up. She began emptying her closets, drawers, shed, and her house was now filled with "stuff" she didn't know what to do with. I quickly texted this company to let them know that my parents will need help with packing. They made a quick rearrangement in their schedule so they can devote rest of day to helping my parents. Look no further for a moving company in the Monterey Bay Area. IT CANNOT GET ANY BETTER than Peninsular Pack and move. Their bid is more than fair. the movers were efficient, quick and honest. They took time and extra energy to go over and properly pack each piece of merchandise. They were on time, and did not break until the emptying out of the house was complete. This is a FAMILY run business, and the manager is superb. Answered any call within minutes, and was at the house to do final inspection, checking all the way to our final destination. These people drove straight thru to Northwest Washington, and did not make us wait 7-14 days for our delivery, like the rest of the bids we got. I can attest that what I am telling you is true and correct. You will be very confident if you pick this company, and it will take a load of your mind.
