Two months later, the weather dipped into below zero temps, we smelled gas fumes and the smell only appears when you're warming up the car and when it's really cold. Found out, Willis did not run the VIN number or fix the recall on it and will not work with us to our satisfaction. After 2 months, Willis told us the car depreciated $6500 which is 1/3 of what we initially financed since we now have to eat that money. We went across the street to Mercedes to fix the recall issue. Obviously, Willis did not complete a multi-point inspection on this used vehicle as they initially stated. I just found out $2000 more needs to be done to this car to pass inspection. I believe Willis knew this car had issues which was not disclosed, and passed it off to the next unsuspecting customer. We were told Mike Thomas would call my husband to discuss further. That was 2 weeks ago. They are no longer a reputable company if they continue to treat their customers with disrespect and lack of integrity. Since Mike doesn't feel necessary to speak to us, we just went to a competitor of theirs and purchased a new vehicle for our daughter. I will not return to Willis due to their poor customer service.

Steve came highly recommended by our friends, Jim and Darcey Widmann, and now we know why. After shopping all over Des Moines for a truck, we encountered dealerships that either patronized us, hassled us, or made us feel like we didn't know what we were talking about. Some even tried to convince us that we couldn't get what we wanted. But when we walked into Toyota of Des Moines, it was a completely different experience. From the moment we were greeted, we felt welcomed and respected. Steve allowed us to choose the vehicle we wanted without any hassle. Every incentive was explained upfront, and the level of transparency was refreshing. What truly set them apart was their willingness to meet our needs on the trade-in. We were told by a Ford dealer (who originally sold us the Bronco) that we could never get the trade-in value we wanted, but Toyota gave us exactly what we asked for--no questions asked. Steve and the entire team at Toyota of Des Moines worked with urgency, respect, and professionalism to finalize the deal in a way that left us completely satisfied. This level of customer care and attention to our needs is what made us feel valued. Toyota of Des Moines embodies what it means to be a true car dealership. We are now proud Toyota brand loyalists and look forward to a lifetime of Toyota ownership, provided the company continues to deliver on its promise of quality in both manufacturing and sales. If you're out there shopping for a vehicle and struggling to find a dealership that truly listens and puts the customer first, look no further than Toyota of Des Moines. Thank you, Steve Henigan, and the entire team--you have earned our loyalty!

I stopped in to pick it up around 3:30 earlier this week. I appreciated his effort to make things right. Unfortunately, my experience at the cashier counter was not as polite. When I came in to pick up the loaner, the cashier (the woman with darker hair whose desk sits against the back wall) was rude. I thanked her for helping get a temporary solution in place. She made a point to tell me that the vehicle had been pulled from another customer to be given to me. Her tone made it seem as though I had demanded to take a car from someone else, which was not the case. I was told I was receiving an "emergency loaner," and I had no knowledge it was originally set aside for anyone else. If there was an internal issue or last-minute adjustment, that is not something a customer should be made to feel guilty about. I understand that end of day situations can be stressful, and I even considered that she may have just been having a bad day. However, speaking down to a customer and placing blame on them for an internal decision is inappropriate. I should have addressed it with a manager while I was there, but I chose to reflect on it first. Again, the advisor's service was excellent, the interaction at the cashier counter, unfortunately, was not. I was hesitant to leave a review as I have never left one before and I would like to believe she was just having a bad day, but I have not yet returned the loaner as my vehicle still is not completed. I should not have left feeling guilty about taking a vehicle that was offered to me and for keeping it longer than expected. It is unfortunate that I felt the need to create an account to leave a review, that's how much this interaction has bothered me. I hope something was lined up for the other customer who is also without a vehicle. I was hoping me taking this would've been an overnight fix.

The very first…read moretime we took it in for a oil change after we bought it (to the dealer Dewey) they said a shock needs replaced, the engine is leaking oil, battery is testing low, and suggested an alignment since tires are wearing uneven. We purchased a $4000+ warranty with the vehicle but the only item they will cover is the oil leak. Not sure how I feel about the "certified" vehicle any longer. I feel they should have taken care of the shocks within such a short amount of miles driven? Live and learn. On a high note the staff is very nice and friendly. I am hoping the financing/sales team with set this straight with the shock. Seems it is out of the hands of service team. The Expedition is in the shop at this time. They did fix some items on this vehicle a few days after we purchased it after we pointed them out so that was good. Best of luck if you purchase a certified vehicle. I suggest you take it to another shop within 3 months to have everything looked over and catch these things early. We didn't and are now paying the price. Maybe you will have better luck.

After they 'disassembled' the vehicle, they found the other $50000+ in damages. I'm no body repair person but come on, I guess they employ low skill estimators or possibly they are just dishonest. This was by in far the worst repair experience of my life. No possible way would I refer a single person here. When I approved the estimate, they called me to let me know I could bring it in so they could start repairs. One of the most obvious things that needed to be replaced was the grill, we had hit a deer, oddly enough the grill was on backorder and was the last thing they were waiting on to complete the repairs.

Said the car had remote start. So I agreed to buy it. My bad for not testing EVERYTHING. They were supposedly fixing the wiper issue while I signed the paperwork. Again, my bad for not testing it before I left. Go to run errand and the car starts panic mode and won't start. Turns out there is an aftermarket security system they didn't tell me about. The "remote start" doesn't work. Go back, they try to charge me a diagnostic fee for the remote start and say they can't diagnose it after having it for four hours. Finally they agree to waive the fee. I call a jeep dealer who tells me that my car does not in fact have a factory remote start. Spend a week arguing with them until they agree to install a remote start. At the same time, I am dealing with the third party security system company, and have to get that system removed. My windshield sprayers still don't work right, had to replace lines and they fire in reverse (front wipers work but trigger rear sprayer and vice versa) but I figured out how to get that to work on my own. Now I have a dead battery. So I go to use the physical key in the fob to open the car. Turns out the physical key doesn't work. So I go on my own to get a new key from the jeep dealership. They try to make new keys, but even cutting the key from the vin doesn't work. They say they can't do anything but order parts, and to call the dealer I bought the car from. GM Josh basically blames me for not buying the warranty, saying they don't test the physical keys, and I already got a free remote start out of them so tough luck. Gives me the same repeat that they buy thousands of cars, they don't know all the details, blah blah blah. Again, I admit my bad for assuming the physical key that came in the key fob would work, but they wouldn't even compromise to help fix it. Don't buy a used car from here unless you check every little key, fob button, and function, or are willing to spend thousands to buy the warranty or pay for repairs. BUYER BEWARE!!!
