    Coastal Sourdough

Absolutely outstanding! So happy to have found this gem during our stay in Pt. Arena. Tried the Coastal Sourdough and blueberry scone and highly recommend both. Can't wait to go back next Wednesday.

Wow!!! I was shook. This place is perfect for PAs needs. There was a line out the front and I can see why. We got a loaf of bread, three brekky pastries & 3 Sammy's. One Sammy's bread was a bit burnt but we peeled it off and ate it all down.

Drool Worthy - can smell the fresh baked blocks away! **CASH/VENMO ONLY! I made the rookie mistake of not having cash on hand. The kind staff held my order for me while I ran up the road to the ATM.** I have seen Pelican bread at a few shops around town, and was curious to see what other breads/pastries they make. Their brick and mortar site is only open Wednesdays from 8am -11am. Came by at 9:15am and there was already a queue out the door and down the sidewalk! I was curious to sample an assortment, and ended up ordering their sesame sourdough loaf, a bag of granola, an almond croissant, cheese croissant and their cinnamon apple roll. Wow. Everything I tried was heaven! Their sourdough has an amazing, just-the-right-amount-of-chewy texture, and the flavor is everything you would crave from a sourdough. Their croissants are flakey and generously seasoned. The almond croissant practically oozed marzipan, which is exactly how I want my almond croissants! I have not yet tried the granola, but it looks crunchy and well balanced in terms of nuts, seeds and clusters. I will definitely be making this my weekly ritual! For those not in area, be sure to check out their farmers market hours on their webpage!

Stopped by the Mendicinio farmer market and so glad we did! All the pastries n bread we purchase was ! My personal fav was the chocolate croissant with the right amount of buttery flakiness with the perfect chew n chocolate filling ( I wish I brought another one )

Gorgeous, flaky pastry croissant, pan chocolat, and a cardamom kouign-amann (so many other sweet & savory morning offerings!). Staying just south in Gualala, came up to Pt Arena for coffee & breakfast breads/pastries. Grateful for the reco of fellow travelers enjoying same out of the back of their open hatchback. Lucky stop -- Pelican Bread is open Weds & Sat only; farmers market & local wholesale. High-quality pastores, delicious, local--all I could do to not buy one of everything. CASH, no credit card. The sourdough is delicious. Surprised I hadn't seen Pelican before. It took a friend to recommend I try it.

This place makes the most delicious bread and pastry I have ever eaten. Amazing. And the sandwiches are very special.

I arrived planning to get a butter croissant, but left with that plus a loaf of sourdough, a handpie, and a sandwich.

I noticed a queue outside of Franny's, so I just got into line and waited, not even knowing what I was waiting for! Let me tell you, this review is coming almost 2 years later because the baked good I discovered here was so delightful and so life changing that it has resulted in an insatiable obsession for me. I went up to the counter finally and, feeling overwhelmed by the selection and display case, asked the cashier what they would recommend. I ended up with a croissant, a cookie, and the cashier-recommended canneles. I didn't even eat the cannele until the following day, and it was pure bliss. Cute little pasty about 2in tall with a crispy, caramelized experiour and moist custardy 'cake' on the inside. I had never eaten anything like it. To this day, I search far and wide for canneles and will go to great lengths to secure them. They are a rare delight simply because of the artistry and precision and expensive tools/ingredients required to make them. Franny's has a special spot in my heart for introducing me to the magical little pastry, canneles. For that, Franny gets all the stars!

Absolutely worth it! Excellent coffee, freshly made baked pastries/bread and a great sandwich…read more Shame on me for not taking any pictures! Found this place while researching for places to visit for my road trip up north. The reviews were not wrong. Definitely call ahead to reserve the morning buns! I didn't listen to the reviews and missed out but the rest of their items were delicious. We ordered: A lemon pound cake - light flavor of lemon which is preferred in my family. A pink concha - fresh and I loved how much sugar topping it had! I always feel places don't put enough (it's my fav part) so this one is one of my favorites. Pecan coffee cake - my family could not get enough of this. Kalamata Olive bread - how could we not try their fresh bread! And trust, it did not disappoint. Mississippi pot roast sandwich - "spectacular! Gimmie 14 of 'em"....was a little skeptical about the pepperoncini part of it but it actually gives it such a good flavor and little heat that was just right. Coffee - excellent Mocha - another favorite! loved how balanced it was and not overly sweet. Super friendly service! Inside was clean and charming. Looked exactly like the pictures inside and out. Definitely would recommend and definitely will be coming back again!

Specifically, I would recommend the sticky buns and sourdough. I have literally never had better sourdough bread in my entire life. Also, this place was started by and is completely run by women, which is super cool. It has any necessities you may need on your trip as well, because it doubles as a lil bit of a convenience store. But a super cute, quaint, and well run one. The people working there are so nice, and the saltwater taffy is to DIE for. And the store itself is adorable. I would recommend ordering ahead if you are planning on going later in the day, though, because they do run out. But really, going, even if it's out of your way, would not be a mistake. It's worth it. I promise. And remember, THE SOURDOUGH. Truly something out of this world. Sorry for the long review, but Bobby Yoe is very passionate about this place. He really does love it. Words can't all the way explain it, but this place just feels like magic. Something out of a storybook. 10/10. Totes adorbs. Bobby Yoe OUT. P.S. Bobby Yoe hasn't been to Twofish for a while, and last time he went it was before his dope Yelp journey started. Because of this, he had no pics in his phone from it, but he still wanted to include some. These pics are from the internet.
