    Pork fried wonton

Anyone who loves Chinese knows Pecking. Even if they refer to tot a that yummy little place in Amelia. Everything is fast hot and fresh. They have a multitude of dishes to choose from and they are all great. So, here we are again. Every single day I get a text from my kids, asking, cane go to pecking today? I couldn't eat the stuff everyday but I guess my family could. There are three long dining tables but they seem pretty tight. They mostly do pick up.

We were looking for a quick service Chinese restaurant to order food from for a picnic in the park. (Or usual place was located too far away from the park we were at.) Food was ready when promised. Everything remained hot while driving from the restaurant to the park. Large potions. Most containers were bulging with food. Main dishes also came with white rice. My children loved the sesame chicken. So much so, that I never got to try any. My favorite was the vegetable lo mein. Noodles and vegetables were not overcooked, or over sauced. Lemon sauce served with the lemon chicken was more sweet than lemony. The bed of lettuce the chicken was served on was soaked with oil, and the bottom of the tempura breading was soggy. While I appreciated that it was white meat chicken, the dish was disappointing. Chicken and assorted vegetables had a balanced chicken to vegetable ratio. General Tso's chicken tasted like General Tso's chicken. We had pleanty of food for leftovers.

Hunan beef special (comes w/ pork fried rice &egg roll), crab rangoon w/sauce, wonton egg drop soup, fried noodles &our fortune cookies.

The food was fresh, hot and very good quality. It to mention the portions were more than enough. I'll definitely be going back.

Dont judge a book by its cover. Best chinese on beechmont! Try the egg rolls. Large portions, quick takeout service.

It was standard take out Chinese food. The portions were generous for the price.

Excellent food, great prices. Best of it's kind in the area. The downfall with all takeout Chinese places, though, is the ambience.

Very busy. Full off flavor and very nice portions for the money. Take out and eat inside. Lacks decor but food is well worth it.

Your typical Chinese place. Decent food. Affordable prices. The line can get pretty long during their busy hours. Just wish they delivered.

Ask the Community - Peking House

Are they still open with the Corona 19 I called on a Wednesday evening about 6 and no answer for 60 minutes?

Hi Dave, we are open! We're just so busy Wednesday evening we had to disconnect the phone to stop taking orders. We don't expect to do that again but expect longer wait times. Thank you for your patience.

Tommy and I were talking about this place after dinner. We both agreed this place is pretty solid and would stand shoulder to shoulder with any Chinese buffet in Columbus. For around $14 each, we both got plenty of that good, hot and satisfying Chinese food we both love. The place looked clean and the service was very nice and polite. Kudos for keeping up with removing our used plates promptly. We wouldn't hesitate to come back again. 5 stars And Here's Some More To Chew On: * Be sure to try the Shrimp and Vegetables, Breaded Shrimp, Teriyaki Chicken Skewers, Butter Chicken and Chicken and Broccoli. * The only weakness was the Hot and Sour Soup (bland and watery) and the Vegetable Lo Mein which looked to be made with spaghetti. They were not bad, just not all that good. ** If you ever dined at the Hong Kong Buffet in Columbus, this place is basically a smaller version of that restaurant. Same decor, same tables and chairs and very similar recipes are used. Same owners? Maybe...

That seems like a gimmick to make this buffet appear cheaper than others when in reality it is about the same price with less selection. The place wasn't busy on a Saturday at lunch. They had one sushi area, small in size tucked away in the corner but I didn't try that because I feel sushi is the devil's work :) The buffet consisted of 3 rows with each side having their own food item. Some food tags (the little cards taped on the glass above the food that helps us identify what the heck we are looking at) was missing or misplaced. One row consisted of fruit and desserts. The other two was the lunch/dinner food. The honey chicken was very small and hard. The fried rice was phenomenal. The crab rangoon was cream cheese wontons. Maybe it was a case of a misplaced food card I talked about earlier but they were still delicious. The egg rolls was good with an exception of the vegetable one, it was bad. The chicken and broccoli (I assume that's what it was because of the abundance of broccoli but the card was gone so I am unsure), it was just bad because the broccoli was far too hard and way too large. I am one of those weirdos that like raw broccoli but this was huge cuts that, honestly, was borderline offensive. The pot stickers, the pork on a skewer stick, was good. Other chinese restaurants have better but it wasn't bad here. Just overcooked and needed a better sauce. The mushrooms was really good. Perfectly cooked and the sauce was great. My husband and our daughter liked the salmon but I didn't try it because I hate too fishy fish flavors. The desserts was our 2 kids favorite, of course. I think they probably tried one of everything with an exception of the weird slug looking jello-y banana thing they had. It was very unappealing looking sitting there sad while jiggling around on it's tray hoping someone would be wild enough to try it. So, my brave husband did and he immediately made a face. The little cup desserts was cute, our son liked the chocolate one but the strawberry didn't seem to go over well with either kid. I tried a small taste of one of theirs and noped it right back onto my daughters plate. The pairs was delicious. Overall, not a bad buffet but not the best. Good for when you want a less busy buffet to enjoy the bare bones of what Chinese food has to offer. Still don't like the drink not being included in the price though.
