My whole family got food poisoning from their General Tso's chicken yesterday. The food itself did not taste bad but it wasn't worth it.

This is your average Chinese take out spot right by Msgr. McGolrick Park. It's not really a dine in place. They took covid seriously and everyone in there were wearing masks and gloves. There's even a screen protecting the staff from their customers when you go to order. I ordered over the phone for pick up. It was a little difficult understanding because of the language barrier. They don't tell you what the items cost because they assume you're familiar with their prices already. It's all pretty cheap anyway. I had some trouble understanding why my bill was a little hiigh but it turns out she had added an extra order because she thought I wanted ribs... The food itself was very heavy and didn't really sit well. I know that's expected of cheap Chinese takeout but this one really made me feel like I was stuffed with fat and sodium lol. I ordered the crab Rangoon wontons which were really good. Perfect amount of filling. A bit on the sweeter side. I also got the sweet and sour shrimp which were these giant doughy fried shrimp balls. They were fun to eat but very greasy. You needed the white rice to balance that out. I got the beef with Chinese vegetables which was ALL just vegetables. The veggies and beef were fine. There was also a lot of sauce left over. I also got the shrimp lo mein. The shrimp tasted a little too fishy but there was a decent amount of them. The noodles themselves lacked flavor and adding soy sauce didn't really help it. It would have tasted better if the sauce was cooked down a little more. read more

I've been in Greenpoint my whole life and this place is my favorite spot to go when I'm hungry and in the mood for some semi-greasy take-out. The women who work here are nice and to the point, the food is made pretty quickly, and they apologize for making you wait even when you feel like you've barely waited at all. The food is tasty and the prices are great. I've only done takeout since I live around the corner so I can't say anything about delivery, but I definitely recommend this place if you're in the neighborhood and in the mood for Chinese! read more

I love Peking Express!! It's my favorite Chinese food take out place in Greenpoint. PLEASE bring back the old veggie dumplings that were large and chewy and full of veggies. They've been replaced with these tiny, underwhelming new dumplings that are nowhere near the same as the old veggie dumplings. I used to order the dumplings 2 times a week. This is the best Chinese food spot in Greenpoint by far. I've been eating here my whole life. Prices everywhere have gone up, but here the prices have not changed much. Still very cheap, for large and delicious portions. Probably the last og NYC Chinese takeout spot left in Greenpoint. Vegetables are always on point, and they have no issues taking special order requests. Sometimes I ask for extra sauce, no rice, no broccoli, broccoli only, no onions etc. they always make whatever annoyingly specific request I have. The ladies who interact with customers are always kind and very friendly with all neighborhood regulars. They are cash only, and I usually call for pick up and the order is ready in 10-15 minutes. Came in for takeout and waited 10 minutes, super quick! Took my food home and sat my ass down on my bed and completely destroyed my General Tso's chicken combo with pork fried rice... I love this chinise take out place! I can't remember my first experience with this place but I have been a fun since forever. Everytime I call I get some extra fortune cookies :) My dad is jealous! The prices are very good (bet. $4 - $6 for a small portion). And for me small portion is for 2 dinners. The food is very good. I especially like their baby shrimps and vegetable dumpligs. I've been going to them for years and I have to say, their food is delicious! It's a pretty small restaurant with only about 6 tables inside, so most of their business is takeout or delivery. I once was in there with my Grandmother and a man walked in and ordered about 6 orders of the fried wontons. He stated that they were the best fried wontons that he's ever tasted and drove in all the way from Upstate to get them. I completely agree! Their fried wontons have always been one of my favorite dishes there! They have tasty lo mein, beef/chicken with broccoli, boneless spare ribs, broccoli in garlic sauce, sauteed shredded beef in hot pepper sauce, egg roll, crab rangoon etc. I can go on and on.
