I spent 8 days in Lisbon and Peixola is the only restaurant I repeated. I loved everything about it from the tasty tapas style cuisine to the speedy service from friendly staff and ambience. My favorite dishes are the shrimp tacos and various Cod dishes. Only thing I didn't like at all was the cuttlefish taco. The caramel petit gateau is easily the best dessert I've ever had. I can't wait to return to Lisbon so I can visit again.

Salmon tartare

This was my favorite spot that we went in Lisbon. The fact that we went to the spot our very first night meant that the bar was that high. We overheard a man at the bar saying that this was his third night in a row visiting the spot. The server was super friendly and spoke great English. He also recommended some delicious cocktails and even gave us a try of the famous cherry liquor. the ambience is modern with glass artwork yet it's still had a very comfortable feeling. It's walking distance from pink Street in the harbor so it is very centrally located. Food wise we shared everything that we got, including the salmon tartare the softshell crab sandwich, the croquettes and the shrimp. Would definitely recommend!

Tiger prawns with truffle puree

Tiger prawns with truffle puree was good, but more of an appetizer than an entree. You're not going to be satiated with two prawns and a puree smear. Black squid pasta with scallops was more filling, but nothing spectacular.

This is what I'd call a fusion restaurant. Dishes include flavors of Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, etc. Nothing was bad, nothing was amazing. I wouldn't come here if you want authentic Portuguese dishes. Service was fast and friendly. However, they completely forgot about our dessert till we waved them down and asked about it.

2" - $4 dollar tacos? Really?

04/29/23 - LISBON - Ever since we were in Porto Portugal 4 days I've been obsessing about trying this restaurant. We ate dinner @ an excellent restaurant named Taberna Dos Mercadores. (5 Stars on Yelp). We struck up a conversation w//the couple sitting next to us from Washington DC. They were telling us this restaurant was so amazing they went there twice while in Lisbon Portugal. I became obsessed w/trying this restaurant as we were headed to Lisbon several days later. I book marked it in Yelp. My wife & I did a half day tour of Portugal and spent the rest of the day checking out small shops indowntown area. The Yelp app said they opened @ 7pm we didn't want to go all the way across town to our hotel & then come back so we walked over. Much to our surprise and delight they were opened when we got there just after 5pm. I don't know if you've ever been to Lisbon but it quite hilly w/many ups & downs. It was a pretty laborious task but we were rewarded by an open restaurant. We ordered 3 dishes @ P *Taco de Camarao - Shrimp Tacos w/guacamole? & salisify chips? (Where?). While they were good @ 2" diameter for $4/taco I felt they were a bit pricy for a bite sized morsel * Filetes de Bacalhau com purée de wasabi - codfish fried in a wasabi purée (absolutely delicious & the best dish) * Camarao Black Tiger Prawn w/a truffle purée & Kimchi mayonnaise (Mehhh just ok) This place was pretty good but honestly I wasn't totally overwhelmed like the couple that I met in Porto

Late post. That tiring walk appreciating Lisbon city ended up to this restaurant with warmth smile from people at the bar. We ordered our usual favorite: ceviche, tacos, pasta negro (squid ink) , some fried fish and their beers and cocktails.. The place is cozy .

Amazing spot! Loved the hospitality from the servers and all the dishes we ordered were simply delicious! There were some additional seating around the restaurant but the main seats are at the bar that wraps in the center. As soon as you walk in, you're welcomed by the staff. The menu is well curated to highlight the Asian, Latin and Portugese fusion. We ordered several different types of tacos, seafood entrees and dessert. The portions are tapas style so on the smaller side, so come prepared to order more than 1-2 items. My favorite taco was the sardine tacos. It was fishy at all and paired nicely with the vegetables! At the end of the meal, the server also gives you a shot of Ginginja which is the cherry liquor and it was such a nice ending after a rich dessert! Definitely check them out if you're in town and of course head to pink street afterwards!

Very cute bar style dinner place in lisbon

Awesome meal. Highly recommend. We walked by it and saw the cute bar seating and then checked on google to see high reviews so came back another night to eat here Drinks are very well done - highly recommend - Doris - half sugar. Delicious and dangerous as I can likely drink Manatt of these - espresso martini - also quite good - cherry liquor shot - we got that for free at the end Food was very well done. We got 3 things to share - soft shell bao. Flavor is excellent and the bread was really nice with the soft shell crab and mayo - deconstructed sashimi tartar. Love it. Not a fan of the toast point but the tartar itself was yummy - pasta Neri with scallop. Divine. And this bar is famous for meeting other at the bar and of course we met a swiss couple next to us and now hanging with them at another bar. Highly recommend. Also shout out to Ema who was our server. Delightful.

TLDR: Asian and Latino flare meets Portuguese ingredients in an intimate environment. Come for the tacos and A+ hospitality. Vibe: 5/5. Located just above Cais do Sodre, Peixola offers diners a cozy atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of your typical touristy restaurants. When you step inside, the first thing you see is the beautiful U shaped bar that spans the entire length of the restaurant. There are a handful of 2 tops scattered about that are available for more intimate dining, however the experience sitting at the bar should not be missed. Decor is clean and cohesive, emitting a casual yet modern contemporary vibe. A perfect place to enjoy a meal after a long day of walking around Lisbon. Service: 5/5. Hospitality at its finest! The staff at Peixola were amazing from start to finish. We sat at the bar, allowing us to chat with the staff throughout the entire meal. They offered us great menu recommendations as well as suggestions for things to do/see around Lisbon from a locals perspective. When it was time to settle up on the bill, they offered us a free round of ginja as a parting gift which was the perfect way to end our meal. Food: 5/5. A refreshing take on Portuguese ingredients prepared with Asian and Latino influence. At this point in our Lisbon trip, we were experiencing palate fatigue from all the traditional Portuguese fare. Peixola was exactly the fusion-esque changeup we needed. Their menu is heavy on the small plate, tapa style dishes meant for sharing, with a few main courses for those who want a more traditional dining experience. Non Portuguese ingredients such as kimchi, bao buns, tacos and soba noodles make their appearances through several dishes, offering diners a break from the typical. We opted to go the tapas route, ordering a trio of tacos (cuttlefish, octopus and sardine), amberjack carpaccio and a Carmel cake with raspberry sorbet for dessert. The tacos were tasty, offering us generous portions of seafood in each bite. However, the amberjack stole the show with its buttery smooth texture and complex citrus flavor from the ponzu and oyster foam accompaniments. And to finish up, our caramel cake raspberry a la mode dessert paired nicely with our glasses of Port wine. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Peixola. If you are looking for a change in pace from the baccalau a bras and bifanas of Lisbon, an evening at Piexola may be exactly what the doctor ordered!

Linguine nero
Christine Y.

Restaurant with mainly bar seating. I had the linguine Nero with scallops and it was one of the best seafood pastas I've had. Reasonably priced as well. I got here at around 20h on a Thursday and got a seat (for one)

A funky rooftop restaurant with extraordinary views and a vibrant feel…read more This place ended up costing us the most on our whole trip. The entrees were on the pricier side, which is something we didn't realize until the end of the trip - when we've had better food, better experience for a more feasible price. The entrees were smaller and less flavorful than we expected. Our bill was also a big one cause of drinks. We ordered: Crispy polenta and cheese balls Razor clams and new potatoes salad with greek yogurt, roasted peppers and cucumbers Game corn dogs with wild-berries fresh sauce and mustard leaves Entrees: we ordered duck, codfish, octopus and a steak dish where no one really enjoyed it... sidenote: I know Codfish is a very popular dish in Portugal - if you don't like that fishy/seawater/fresh-out-of-the-sea taste, you might not like it in Lisbon My friends didn't like the fish and the duck. Gin Fizz was good, as well as the Rosé (we probably ordered like 8 Gin Fizzes - they were that good) -takes CC, Wifi, great view What I recommend - go there for a drink and apps. I think their entrees were disappointing but apps and drinks were great

Before coming to Lisbon, I did a little research on where to find views of the 25 de Abril bridge…read more Rio Maravilha happened to show up as one of the top places for the best views. An experience that I was hoping to capture was unexpectedly shut down. Unfortunately, due to inclement weather, the rooftop was closed to the public. Still an order of cocktails were placed with the attentive server. Shortly thereafter, the tequila based cocktail and a chocolate cocktail were brought to the table. Both drinks were good with two different flavor profiles. The chocolate cocktail with a subtle hint of coffee reminded me of a dessert which could be ideal as a digestif. It also came with a chocolate twig which made the drink a little extra fun. As for the other cocktail, well I'm sure you know how it goes with tequila :) Both drinks cost about $27 USD which was a wee bit more than I anticipated to spend. However, if you could enjoy the views from the rooftop while sipping away a cocktail or two, it will be worth it. Finding this place was also a little tricky. I had to ask the locals to help locate this place. If you're having trouble getting here, be sure to ask the locals.
