A cute place to visit and support local artists in Lisbon. There are so cute shops and food spots to see here. I would consider this the hipster part of Lisbon. For me, it's not my style. If you're a tourist, this is more about supporting locals. Nothing historic, just lots of cool art. If you're local, I imagine this is the place to get cool unique things. The one thing that's really pretty to see here is the bookstore. Other than that if visiting from another country, I would find other things to see. read more

This was one of my favorite days in Portugal - spending it at the LX Factory, getting to see the work of local artists, and eating some delicious simple Portuguese food. I came on a weekend so there were tents set up by artists and vendors in a large area which made the day even more interesting. It feels a little to me like a condensed version of the Arts District in LA. It is very busy on the weekend, but worth it to navigate just so you can see all the tents of vendors. There are vintage shops, ceramic shops, cool clothing shops - so many spots to find great gifts and be inspired. It feel industrial/warehouse-y which makes the vibe feel so much more interesting. We ate at Chickinho (pronounced chickeen-yo) because I really was craving some grilled chicken with piri piri oil. This spot specializes in chicken, especially grilled chicken with piri piri. We ordered the whole chicken, got a deliciious red cabbage coleslaw, and some wedge potato fries and a tomato/cucumber/onion salad. Everything was just so fresh and tasty. The piri piri oil was already at the bottom of the dish that the chicken came on so we just kept dipping the pieces of chicken in there and wow was it addicting. I couldn't stop thinking about this meal for a couple of days and really wanted to go back again, but we opted to try another spot that was well known for their piri piri chicken. I have to say overall, I still enjoyed Chickinho the most because of the sides and how well they seasoned and cooked the chicken. And I really liked their piri piri oil. read more

The charms of Lisbon's LX Factory - a one-time textile manufactory - were a little lost on me. I'd read that its restaurants cater to tourists so made no attempt to arrive hungry. Nor did I arrive angling for a cocktail. I expected to see art and unique artsy products for sale but after I wandered the shops on the ground floor and what was open on the second floor I left with, basically, a shoulder-shrug. I'd found only two places here (a bookstore and a sort-of-camera store) that really caught my interest and the rest seemed not to feature anything that I liked more than things that I'd seen for sale elsewhere in town. I have a hunch that LX Factory is slightly more fun if you stop and enjoy a drink, perhaps on a sunny Sunday afternoon. That's the day that they feature the outdoor "Sunday Market" at which (hopefully) they feature a wider array of unique art and/or handmade offerings. I spent long enough in Lisbon that I didn't regret making time for the LX Market but if I'd had only a short time to see the city I'd not have been happy having spent any time here at all. read more

LX Factory, located under the 25 de Abril Bridge, consists of more than 50 businesses- shops, restaurants, and bars. It is an artsy and trendy place. There is also plenty of street art including "Bee" by Bordalo II. The Ler Devagar bookstore is a must when you're here. We also stopped at Beers for a short break. read more

Lovely funky place to spend part of the day with many gift stores and different places to eat and some art on the walls and also fun to people watch. My favorite stores included: Ceramica, More Than Wine, and the Cork Store. I ate at Sophia and it was a great pizza place with indoor and outdoor seating. Areas to improve would be the two bathrooms which are tiny and not handicap accessible. Also they do not have free WiFi here, which they should, as I had trouble to book Uber or Bolt. Luckily a salesperson helped me to get free quick WiFi so I could return to my hotel! I also do not mind buying something from a cafe so I could use the WiFi, but I did not see any signs for WiFi here. If there is accessible WiFi, please let me know. Highly recommended! read more

One of My favorite stops in Lisbon! There are so many shops, little restaurants and stands. I had so much fun going from place to place and then stopping for coffee and a bit to eat. I went on a super rainy day and it was still great. I could imagine how nice it would be on a sunny day. We tried a brewery that was so tasty and we spent a few hours there. Cute and trendy spot with approximately 15 dining options to choose from. The library was really neat and cool. I enjoyed it here. The different art displayed was nice and well done. The service above the LX hostel is the best offering up nice small bites and drinks. Lively crowd where smoking is an option (I'm not a fan of this). The view is decent. You're parallel to the bridge and overlooking roofs. I also had the opportunity to try matcha mama and it was ok. Cute spot but lacking in the quality of service and food options. Had to ask for check at least five times (with less than five tables dining) and the food wasn't as good as the advertisement. For example, I ordered a Moscow mule mocktail and instead of it coming with the advertised ginger foam, it was ginger flavored whip cream; odd pairing for that beverage. From the start it was off, so I left to the LX rooftop. The food has been ok in Portugal, so let's see what's up next. Enjoy! read more

I was a little disappointed with this place... when researching things to do in Lisbon it seemed like LX Factory was highly recommended, but the food options weren't intriguing and we ended up going back to the heart of Lisbon for dinner. There weren't that many shops here either. We walked around the whole place and were like "wait, that's it?" The one store we did enjoy was the bookstore. We actually bought some books and a record here! If you end up not making it out to see LX Factory, do not be too disappointed! Definitely somewhere to visit while in Lisbon. Inside they have several artists with small galleries selling unique art, clothes, and jewelry. Outdoors they have a bunch of restaurants and bars. The bookstore Ler Devagar is beautiful. The rooftop bar at LX Hostel is a lovely oasis too. Some of the spots seem very generic and touristy, but there was also a bar with live music on their patio which was tons of fun. I liked it here a lot! This is one place I could spend hours at just going through every book and really spending time here to unwind. After your purchase, you can head over to the café on the first floor and have a drink. It's not as busy specifically with the location that it's in and the staff are extremely nice and quick to recommend books that they have read or that you might be interested in based on your purchase. such a lovely experience. If you're in Lisbon, stop by LX Factory! It's a bunch of vendors/creators, under a bridge area. This isn't your typical market that has all the same things you can find elsewhere. I got beautiful, delicious brigadeiro (Brazilian candies), a woven bag that caught my eye as soon as I entered that particular "booth", a customized sweatshirt which was finished being sewed as I walked around, and vintage clothing! The vintage selection was fantastic at a couple booths, and they were well-priced. Some items were downright cheap. Quality dresses for 5 euro? Yes, please. I also had a fantastic lunch here. Even if you don't buy anything, there are so many hand made things to see. Lovely ceramics were my fave. read more

I was expecting a bit more from LX Factory. We came by on a Saturday just before 11:30 and it wasn't too crowded. They have some shops, cafes, and restaurants. It was getting close to lunchtime so we were trying to look for a restaurant to sit down at, but they all looked tourist trappy. If you're just visiting Lisbon, I would say you could skip this. It isn't really close to the city centre and it's not worth the trek. read more

OMG! Forget the Time-Out Market - for me LX factory market beats it hands down!! The plethora and mix of artisanal and maker's shop combined with al those food choices makes it a Great market with great stuff! And btw, it's massive! In the afternoon I had allocated to check this place out, I could only do the outside - didn't even make it the factory buildings first floor to check out all the food places that call this site home! This place is so cool. Although it was a rainy day, we had a lot of fun walking around and browsing the shops. The art everywhere is a fun touch as well. We stopped inside Chickinho to escape the rain and and my husband ended up ordering peri peri chicken and I had fries and glass in wine. As a whole, LX factory was ok. This seemed like a big tourist trap and I wish that it featured more local vendors versus the typical souvenir/"artsy" items that it did sell. They had shops that sold character (e.g. star wars) mugs, socks, and novelty items. They did however, have a good balance of restaurants, shops and bars. We went to Chickinho for some peri peri chicken. It was delicious and the service was great! We also went to the canned goods shop and they did feature a huge variety of fishes and it was helpful that the staff knew the amount that could be taken on the flights etc. It is a nice place to visit and walk around but again but don't come here expecting to buy meaningful gifts. read more

What a cool area to shop, to eat, and to take in the artsy vibes galore. There are plenty of small businesses and trendy stops, nothing that screams "You're in Portugal," though. So, if you are looking for traditional Portuguese food and vibes, this probably isn't the spot. There are murals and art all along the cobblestone streets and the old warehouse setting provides ample space for a multi-use, pedestrian-friendly location. There is even a hostel! Most restaurants have outdoor seating and there was live music playing at several spots. It was hopping, even on a weekday evening, although many shops were already closed when we arrived around 7:30 pm. Expect to pay a bit more than other areas of town, as LX definitely caters to tourists. Worth a stop, especially if you go during the day when everything is open. read more

Great space near the Vasco Da Gama bridge. This is a great place to look for modern but non-traditional Portuguese items. Maybe you'll see a cute basic Portuguese shirt with Abraçu?, a Vasco Da Gama bridge shirt, or quality steam punk items here. Various local art vendors around. There is a variety of food here but I don't feel it is the best place for food. Nothing wrong with the food but just not fantastic options compared to many other places outside of this space. Great place for youngsters to visit. Connected to this space is a convention space. I think there was a health convention going on when I visited around 330 PM (1530). When I saw the LX Factory, apparently it is about 1/3 the size it was before the pandemic. Also, I don't believe the bookstore mentioned in other reviews is around anymore. read more

LX Factory is an industrial complex from the 19th century that has some nice restaurants, bars, and shops. Most restaurants have nice outdoor seating which on a nice day is enjoyable for a good lunch. Everyone's friendly and it's just steps from the city. read more

We stopped by this little artsy hipster marketplace during our bike tour and really enjoyed the vibes here. While it may not be a must-do in Lisbon, we had a pleasant half hour here quickly walking through some of the stores. I wished we could've spent a little longer here to really browse the stores, which were selling some cute and quirky gifts, and the bookstore here. We ended up getting an almond tart from one of the baker vendors near the front and an overpriced pastel de bacalhau from the large bacalhau store. Both were really tasty, and it was fun to walk around while snacking. I wouldn't necessarily come here for a meal, as the food is less local and more geared towards the international crowd (and the restaurant reviews seem to be quite poor), but it's a nice little pit stop to do some shopping. read more

LX Factory was great fun! My original intention, based on research of the Lisbon area, was to visit Ler Devagar. Little did I know that this eclectic Portuguese bookstore (which includes several floors, a café, and a well decked out records section!) would be housed among an amalgamation of restaurants and shops, with an exclusive feel to them. During my time at LX Factory, I not only went to Ler Devagar, but also decided to stop at Messe Pizzeria, which left my mouth watering for more. It was so good!!! I tried their Lx pizza (#3 on the menu) and it had such a unique flavor. It was sweet and tangy. The ingredients of the Lx pizza are tomato sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, mozzarella di bufala, pepper jelly, sesame seeds, and oregano. The crust of their pizza is thin, but I've always said that to wow me with a thin pizza the crust has to be crispy. Messe Pizzeria's crust was not only crispy, but almost so crispy that the texture resembled that of a chip! I got a brief taste of the pepperoni pizza as well which also had great flavor and was just as crispy: I love quality consistency. Regarding the strip on which LX Factory resides, there are many hanging lights, shaded areas, and the strip itself feels quite secluded from all else. There are many tourists which seem to visit the area, but at no point did I feel overwhelmed by the number of people (this could be dependent on time of day and time of year though; I went at around 5:00 pm on a Friday in late June). read more

The restaurant we stopped at Ni Michi is a latin cuisine, I would say a mix of Peruvian and Mexican food. They had live music and great drinks. read more

Today January 4th is our first full day in Lisbon. We found this place on Trip Advisor. It's somewhat similar to Chelsea Market in New York. It's located in a former industrial area that is a compilation of multiple buildings featuring restaurants and shopping. Chris and I shopped and dined here. One key to enjoying this place is good weather since much of the businesses are accessed from outdoors or have patio dining. We were blessed with amazing weather on our visit and were able to walk the entire complex and shop and eat. I highly suggest picking up a free map at the main entrance and exploring the entire complex for shopping and then choosing a place to eat. Individual businesses do not have bathrooms. The free map clearly displays the three sets of shared bathrooms located in common areas. The bathrooms were ok and could have used a deep cleaning. Overall we loved our visit and enjoyed our three hours here exploring, shopping and dinner. read more
