Theres a part where you can walk by some glass cases and it has a sensor where it triggers a light to come on. When I walked into the room it was off. I continued to walk around and it remained off I was in there for about 5-10min before I walked in front of it. I finally made my way to the case and the light clicked on. I thought cool and looked at all the things then it turned off when I walked away and stayed off. Then when I revisited some of the things I was looking at before and the thing came back on while my back was to it. In my mind I thought finally someone else is in here with me. I turn around and nothing, then it turned off. It did this a few more times while I was in there theeeeeeen I decided fuck that I'm going to leave the room I'm not guna die today. Yes I can melodramatic sometimes, I've accepted this about myself. Lol some other weird stuff happened and I thought cool I get the point I'm leaving altogether. Lol overall they had some cool film stuff to view but this place is creepy.

I was on the hunt for a restaurant still open on Christmas Eve / Day while visiting Lisbon for the holidays, and was delighted to see that a few of the shops next to my hotel, including The MOB, still opened their doors in late December. The shop is apparently themed after the Italian mob (although I couldn't really see the references), but I also loved that they had a live fish tank and great indoor and outdoor seating spaces. My mom and I took a seat outside and decided to split their sardine salad and shrimp / salmon paella. The sardine salad was solid, with a ton of fresh veggies and a generous helping of sardines. The sardines provided all the salt and fat the salad needed, but a hit of the white vinegar the restaurant offers on the side really brought the salad together. The paella was also good; the shrimp and salmon chunks were both tender, and I loved the pops of freshness from the green peas and tomatoes. The rice wasn't quite as flavorful as I was expecting, but it was still a good meal. The portions are also quite generous -- we split just one salad and a single / one-person serving of the paella, and it was plenty.

A cute place to visit and support local artists in Lisbon. There are so cute shops and food spots…read moreto see here. I would consider this the hipster part of Lisbon. For me, it's not my style. If you're a tourist, this is more about supporting locals. Nothing historic, just lots of cool art. If you're local, I imagine this is the place to get cool unique things. The one thing that's really pretty to see here is the bookstore. Other than that if visiting from another country, I would find other things to see.

With nothing on our agenda for the weekend, we heard about this "flea market" online and decided to…read morecheck it out. I did a bit of online research about it, and saw several pictures posted. The pics were nothing really exciting; however, it was a gorgeous Saturday in December, so we thought we'd check it out to kill time. We caught public transportation from Praça do Restauradores, which zoomed us over to the Apolonia train station and a short walk to the market. Little did that Mercado de Santa Clara was gonna be HUGE, and apparently THE thing to do on a spectacular Saturday morning!!! The pics I saw online did absolutely no justice to what we had in-store for us! The place was overflowing with what seemed like hundreds of vendors, all hawking bric-a-brac and doo-dads and even "crap"! It was definitely a "flea market," indeed!!! It was truly fun to see all the stuff folks were trying to sell and make money off of. Lots of interesting stuff; lots of uninteresting stuff. Exactly what one would expect from a flea market! We even splurged on several ponchos and blankets that were too cool to pass-up!! :D We easily spent a good hour and a-half roaming through the "aisles." Shoppers were there in-force! And, too, being right next to several outdoor cafés made it easy to refuel and people-watch! (The indoor part of the market wasn't nearly as fun; but, still worth checking out.) The market is on Saturdays and Tuesdays, so I'm thinking I might pop back there on Tuesday, as I had my eye on something that I'm crossing my fingers will still be there...! We both cannot recommend the Mercado de Santa Clara enough...!!! :D

As this is my first time in Portugal, I appreciated the info. Check-in was a breeze and again, so friendly and welcoming. Today, we enjoyed breakfast that is included (maybe in only some bookings?) Caught a glimpse of the library, turntable, and vinyl collection. Love this place!!

This boutique hotel s located in the Baixa neighborhood. The location is one of the best things…read moreabout staying here because so many areas are within walking distance. The hotel was clean and the staff made the experience extremely pleasant. Everyone we interacted with was so helpful and welcoming. When we first reached the hotel, the Uber driver let us out at a location that wasn't exactly in front of the hotel. As we were walking, we got turned around and called the hotel to let them know that we couldn't figure it out and one of the front desk's associates actually came out to find us and walk us back to the hotel even helping us with our luggage on the walk back to the hotel. If you're visiting Lisbon and want to be located in an area that has so much to offer and with so much energy, I would recommend this hotel
