We got lucky choosing this hotel for our stay in Lisbon. First and foremost, the location is so good. The hotel is located in Chiado on the edge of Bairro Alto, a great place to look at graffiti art during the day; the bars and the narrow streets are filled with life at night. From there it is a short walk to Baixa (shopping and restaurants), a short walk to Praca do Comercio (where the big Rua Agusta Arch near the water), a short walk to Principe Real, a short walk to so many different points of interest throughout the city. Although Belem is a wonderful neighborhood, forget about going there for pasteis de nata. The best pasteis de nata is served at Manteigaria (Rua do Loreto 2) 1 block away from the hotel.
Our room was charming and airy with tall ceilings. The bed was comfortable with good quality linens. The only nit to pick was that the floor in the bathroom required a 2 inch step up between the sink and the shower. The daily complimentary breakfast is quite the impressive spread. Have your croissant looking over people and the trams coming and going in Praca Luis De Camoes. Sandra and Franciso were our hosts during breakfast. Ask them if you want something hot from the grill like bacon and eggs. read more
