This InterContinental property is an ideal boutique-like hotel and spa on the Portuguese Riviera. The hotel occupies the first 3 floors and above the hotel, are private residences right on the seaside coast. The number of rooms are limited so there is no Club InterContinental lounge at this property. They do offer a full breakfast buffet with seaside views overlooking the pool The train tracks and walking promenade that connects Estoril and Cascais separate the hotel from the water. If you have already been to Lisbon before and looking for something different, this Estoril/Cascais location would be a nice change from the hustle bustle of the city. The clientele tends to be those looking for a very low key and relaxing stay. The service and concierge were exceptionally excellent in catering to any of your needs during your stay. Cascais is about a 10 minute walk and has a great city center with good restaurants and sandy beaches. Estoril is a 10 minute walk the other direction and has a large casino that is fun to visit and supposedly has the best Cantonese Chinese restaurant in all of Portugal. (Full disclosure: I did not try the restaurant!) And if you still want to go into the city, it is only a 30 minute train ride with the station right in front of the hotel. The InterContinental Hotel in Estoril/Cascais is a very nice property with great amenities that I would definitely come back and stay again when in the Lisbon area.

This hotel exceeded our expectations!! We stayed for a week! Nice views while having breakfast! Our room faced the beautiful ocean! We would open the window at night to hear the waves! So relaxing! They had a crib for baby which was a plus! Very comfortable. Our bed was so comfy! My 10 year old was able to fit lol. The customer service was soooo awesome!! Hotel was very very clean! House keeping was on point! I really love the breakfast! Omg I loved the salami and cheese and the breads! So good! We always were able to choose other breakfast items off the grill! So good!! I would recommend this hotel. I can't wait to go back

If you wanted to be spoiled in Portugal stay at the intercontinental Estoril. We have never had such great service and we've stayed in amazing hotels around the world. This is a five star hotel with five plus star service.

My husband and I stayed here for the last 5 days of our honeymoon, and I have to say, it was absolutely perfect. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and because I had written in the notes when we made our reservation that it was our honeymoon, they upgraded our room and had chilled Champagne and strawberries for us on arrival. These are the other fantastic things about the hotel: Location: The location is perfectly located for a beautiful walk along the boardwalk to the various beaches, tide pools, and restaurants. It's also about a 15 min walk to the Caiscais city center, which is a cute little beach town with a little more restaurants/night life than Estoril itself. The location is also right next to the Monte Estoril train station if you want to take that to Lisbon. The location of the hotel also gives you amazing views! Spa/Pool: This is another spot where the staff plays a huge role in how awesome the hotel is. After a day at the beach, my husband and I loved going to the spa floor that had a mini-heated pool, chaise lounge chairs, sauna, and steam room to relax a little more before we got ready to go out for dinner. Ricardo, one of the spa workers, was so kind, he would always come over to check on us to see if we needed anything, and would bring us free herbal tea just because. :) The outside pool is also great, but was a little cold for my liking (however, because my husband and I visited the hotel in May, the temperature of the pool was probably perfect for the hotter summer months). The pool decor and chairs are very modern, so you definitely have a luxurious feel while you are lounging poolside. There's also a bar by the pool (not swim up) for you to order some cocktails. Rooms/Amenities: LOVED how modern the room we stayed at was. The room was huge! We had a gorgeous walk out deck with a full set of furniture that overlooked the pool and the ocean. The bathroom was also huge, with a separate bathtub, shower, and closed off toilet area. You could also change the lighting color, which was just a really cool touch. Bed was very comfy, and had an ipod/iphone/ipad charging station. Breakfast (served 7AM-11AM): We had breakfast included in our booking, and it was also a great touch. Breakfast was served in the lobby/balcony area overlooking the pool and ocean. There was a wide variety of cold cut meats/cheese like the typical European breakfast, but also included hot breakfast with eggs, sausage, bacon, toasts as well. You also order anything a la carte, so there was an excellent variety! Breakfast is served from 7AM-11AM, so my husband and I would sleep in to about 9ish, stroll downstairs to breakfast at our leisure to fill up, then head down the boardwalk to the beach! Overall, I loved everything about staying at the Intercontinental Estoril. My husband and I want to take an anniversary trip there in the next few years because of what a wonderful time we had! Thank you for making our honeymoon such a incredible and relaxing experience!

I found this property since I am IHG loyal (Platinum Ambassador) and saw an Intercontinental opening one week before my trip. This is one of 4 places I stayed while visiting Portugal, with 2 being AirBnB and the last a boutique private hotel. Big deciding factor was the weekend, where I would have time outside of my busy work schedule in Monte Real to explore Lisbon. I am very happy with this property, its staff, and the area. They provided wonderful recommendations to get my exploration started well off. Being the second week open of a hotel, there are a million problems that I could see happening. The staff must be of another level here, as there were none. The concierge assisted from taking my car, to checking me in, to private tour of the hotel property amenities and room features. Anything I needed was done to perfection by nothing more than a lift of the phone. The building and its grounds are extremely modern, well appointed, and shared with very nice condominiums on the top levels. The hotel operates on the bottom two floors, of which there are 2 suites available. All rooms are water facing. The views you see from my photos are from the second floor in a deluxe room. Having stayed at countess Intercontinental properties in the last few years, I can say I have never experienced the level or caliber provided at the Intercontinental Estoril. I look forward to visiting again and next time I will actually spend some time relaxing in the pool.

Located just a brief 10 min walk from the adorable Marina, it is centrally located with a gorgeous view of the water. There is always someone to open the door for you on your arrival and you're greeted with a gorgeous spacious entrance into the hotel. Service is great -- especially the cleaners for the room. They would visit my room twice a day to endure I had water, that my slippers with ready for me beside my bed, a little chocolate each night before bed... their attention to detail made me think they should train other teams in the world. The grounds are beautiful complete with a pool with a gorgeous water view, a highly rated fancy restaurant that won't break the bank, a good breakfast buffet, a state of the art gym, a spa, and very spacious rooms and bathrooms. This hotel was great for a work conference and they handled hundreds of people with ease. This is a great example of how a top tier hotel should be ran. Outstanding!

Not long after we checked in, we received little desserts waiting for us in our room. The bedding, the bathroom, the balcony views were absolutely spectacular. We truly loved the complimentary indoor spa, it was very relaxing. The restaurants also serve some amazing food and cocktails. For an extra charge, the hotel was able to provide us transportation from the airport; they even arranged private transportation to drop us off at our airbnb when we had to check out the next day. The transportation service was great and very informative, we wound up using them to take us to the Sintra one day during our trip. We unfortunately only stayed one night and I wish we stayed longer, my husband constantly talk about coming back here. Cascais is an absolute gem of a town and I highly suggest spending a night here if you are ever in the area.

From check-in to check out there were plenty of staff available at the front to assist with baggage. We made use of the spa including 60 min massages which were very relaxing and included 30 minutes of tea time before and after the massage. We also used the dynamic indoor heated pool which is free to access for hotel guests. The food at breakfast is fresh, large amount of choices. The seats in the breakfast area are older with reduced support, one day we came later and were seated in the four seasons grill dining area which has much more comfortable seating. We also enjoyed the food at Organic Caffe in the spa building, room service and a dinner at Grill Four Seasons which is by reservation only. The loss of one star is for the overall age of the hotel. We could see cracks in the walls of our hotel room, the bed is uncomfortable with a large spring mattress and thin foam mattress pad on top - uncomfortable for side sleepers. However we had our room serviced and the cleaning staff was excellent.

The hotel boasts some serious history, you've got to take a walk around and look at the all the pictures, and artifacts in display. The morning breakfast was fantastic. The bar served up some great cocktails too. The rooms are on the small side but they have so much richness to them. There is a golf course associated with the hotel as well that was fun to play! 10/10 would return!

There is only one restaurant and one bar (pool bar was closed for the season by the time we traveled). Also, the restaurant is only an over-priced buffet for all meals. No thanks! They claim to have a jacuzzi, but we never did find it. The room was not nearly as large was depicted. -Now onto the room...the bed was rock hard! It was like sleeping on a board. Plus the sheet was too short for the bed so your feet got caught on it each night. Our room was supposed to have a queen bed...it was two independent twin beds shoved together and made separately. This was fine, as I was traveling with my mom, but still odd. We had a kitchenette...the fridge door kept falling off (even after asking for repairs) and the oddest set of dishes to fill it. No knife for cutting. No wine glasses (but we did have ice cream sundae glasses?). No way to make coffee or tea. No free safe...daily fee that amounted to nearly 20 euro for the week. Very poor lighting with questionable safety on some of the lamps. The tub sat at such a height difference above the floor that getting out (without handrails) was always precarious. -Other stuff: Breakfast was included for most but not us (we were using TimeShare points). This was really disappointing and made for uncomfortably hungry mornings. Plus, without a way to make coffee in the room, this really sucked. In all, if I were to return to Cascais, I would not plan to stay here. There are plenty of other options in this adorable little town.
