The connecting room setup worked perfectly for us, plenty of space between the two rooms, and the staff had clearly thought through what families actually need, right down to the football shirts waiting for our kids on arrival. What really stood out was the spa, chromotherapy showers, a jacuzzi, and this bucket contraption that tips warm water on you when you least expect it, sounds odd but the kids were obsessed. Add in a genuinely excellent dinner at the in-house restaurant and a location that puts you right in the middle of old Lisbon, and it's easy to see why this place is so well rated. Would book again without hesitation.

Everything about this hotel was positive from the nicely furnished room with super comfortable bed, to the amenities-including the chromotherapy shower-to the fantastic breakfast, and mostly the service. All the people at the front desk and dedicated concierges were super friendly and helpful with restaurant suggestions, tourist suggestions, and travel suggestions (useful since a train strike was in effect during my stay). The head of the housecleaning department even repaired (sewed) a pair of pants I tore on my visit-talk about going above and beyond the call of duty. The hotel offers its guests a number of freebies that are much appreciated. Besides complimentary cook to order breakfast the hotel offers 3 free walking tours around the city and in room mini bar items-such as water, soft drinks, and beer-are also complimentary. The hotel even has various snacks (cookies, snacks, some food items) offered to guests in the lobby entrance as well as a daily happy hour. One final bonus are the 17th century ruins in the downstairs lounge area. Finally, the location is excellent. Corpo Santo is about a minute walk from Pink Street, 5 minute walk from Time Out Market, and very close to a number of tourist attractions in a less densely populated area than other hotels I looked at as well as a short walk from the water. Very easy for Uber drivers to find the hotel. This was my first visit to Lisbon but if I return I will definitely stay again at Corpo Santo. Muito bom!!

On our last few nights in Lisbon, we decided to treat ourselves to a stay at Locke de Santa Joana…read more This hotel is located in a former convent and is situated in a northern part of Lisbon that's a little less popular but still surrounded by great shopping and dining. First of all, this place is HUGE. I'm talking three separate buildings, two restaurants, a coffee shop, and a pool. It's incredibly beautiful with tons of historic charm. There's two entrances so be sure to head to the one closest to the coffee shop since that's where check in is. If you enter near the restaurants, you'll have to trudge across the pool area, down a hallway, and up an elevator to find check in. Each building features slightly different accommodations with one of the buildings offering fully equipped apartments with kitchens and laundry. Since we were only here for two nights, we stayed in one of the more basic hotel rooms which featured a beautiful sitting area, VERY comfortable bed, spacious bathroom with a nice shower, and plenty of wardrobe storage. As luxurious as this place felt, it wasn't as well equipped as some of the cheaper hotels we stayed at. For example, there was a kettle but no nespresso machine so the options were instant coffee or tea. Our windows looked directly into the patio of the restaurant and there were no privacy blinds, just heavy shutters that blocked out all the light. There was no mini fridge, ice bucket, or wine key. We had to ask concierge for ice which they supplied for us in a trash bag (we were just using it to chill a bottle of wine) and the wine key was provided as well but had to be delivered to our room. Directions to get to our room were vague and incorrect. We were told our room was 306 and to go to the building in which it was located. I asked if we took the elevator up to floor 3 and the man at the desk said yes. However, floor 3 was actually just a mechanical closet. Super confusing. One of the guests ended up pointing us down a hallway from the first floor, which led us to an unmarked door which eventually took us down another hallway and then to our room. More signage would really have been helpful!

Well we decided on our last night to give it a shot and so glad we did. The food was phenomenal. I appreciate they put effort into their vegetarian options by using plant based meats to add interest. The spring rolls were amazing. One fault was the service was super nice although at various times seemed to completely disappear. There are many restaurant options to chose from in this area but I highly recommend Elevador.

The hotel was clean and the staff made the experience extremely pleasant. Everyone we interacted with was so helpful and welcoming. When we first reached the hotel, the Uber driver let us out at a location that wasn't exactly in front of the hotel. As we were walking, we got turned around and called the hotel to let them know that we couldn't figure it out and one of the front desk's associates actually came out to find us and walk us back to the hotel even helping us with our luggage on the walk back to the hotel. The balconies were a nice surprise. We could hear people playing guitar and see them dancing in the moonlight. It felt like a view out of a movie. Unfortunately, due to jet lag - I was awake to find bedbugs crawling on us during our first night there. We were actually able to catch live bugs and place them in a ziplock. The staff seemed genuinely apologetic. The manager, however, was apathetic. If we had not had bed bugs in our room - it would have be a wonderful five-star stay. I understand that bed bugs can happen when you travel. They were unable to accommodate a room change and we were invited to leave. A recommendation point, an upholstered headboard cannot be properly cleaned. And both our rooms had upholsterer headboards.

We arrived at 7pm and the staff quickly checked us in with no issues. Once we got on our floor, we were a bit taken back by how old and dated the hotel was. The rooms also left a lot to be desired, but we did have a semi decent view of the city. The bathroom was also very small and the shower was a bit complicated. We weren't in the room for long as we quickly changed, headed out to dinner, and by the time we came back, it was time to go to sleep for our flight the next morning. Overall, they have an amazing staff, but the hotel really needs some TLC.
