This place was clean! And Great Location and Service. We had a set up pick up which is out of pocket to be picked up and dropped off from the airport. Different time of pick up Separate Pay in cash. The location is very central so it was perfect!!! Our room was very clean and spacious no weird smell! Our bedroom view was great you can see people walking!!! Such a great location to be! Our stay included breakfast, the breakfast was good a lot of bread options and drinks and cheese!!! The staff were very nice esp the lady at the front desk! The elevator is small so thats expected in Europe. When it was down we had to drag our stroller down; BUT when it was time to check out and elevator was still down they let us used the staff elevator for our luggage so that helped allt as we have a lot of stuff due to the baby. Overall i hope they keep up the cleanliness and great service! They also gave a complimentary water in the room please dont take the bottle you will get charged for it. This was a nice little relatively modern hotel right in the tourist mess near the waterfront of Lisbon. We stayed in 5 star hotels in our other legs of Portugal travel but just needed a simple affordable last night after returning to the crazy busy Lisbon before our flight out. About $130 with a decent sized room moderately nice queen bed and chair, tv, fairly decent bath and a mini fridge. Others state being pushed to dine in the restaurant but we never got that and the check in associate and her likewise counterparts on other shifts were all very helpful and friendly . The evening guy gladly gave me nice big glasses of ice in a tall crustal glass like I use at home so I could have a room drink while catching up on news (3 times). European hotels do not have ice machines so this is my drill and they were flawless. The hardware was a tad hammered around the room but not a big deal yet the walls and finishes pretty nice and fresh. When you check in it's extremely confusing because the front desk is literally at the counter of the little restaurant. But they handle that well. The restaurant looks very nice but what I saw the food seems mid plus. Pretty enthusiastic service though. If you need an affordable but decent room in the mess of things close to the Alfama and Baixia sites this is a reliable choice. Not the best but worthwhile for sure. read more

On my final night in Lisbon I left the over-crowded Christmas markets nearby and was en route to the big, waterfront plaza where the official tree would be lit and fireworks detonated. I'd still not sampled the little clams for which Portugal is known though, and when I spotted them on the menu at My Story Ouro I succumbed. I knew this place was for tourists and that I'd likely regret stopping but, throwing caution to the wind, I entered. About My Story Ouro, I'll say this: * I had a ridiculously good time here. A "large" beer was ordered, arriving in a stein that a comic book hero would appreciate. I laughed until I could laugh no more. It was enormous. * The food was good, those little clams and more. * The service was nuts. I was served by so many different people that I had no idea who was responsible for my table and each server also seemed to have the need to go to tables outside, leaving ajar a door which allowed cold air inside. Despite my getting up at least 4 times to shut that door - and my asking every server to shut it directly - they couldn't seem to master this concept. * My choice table along the street-side window was the best place from which to watch the thousands of people go by, making their way to the plaza. And when fireworks from the plaza began, it was easy to run out to the street to watch before returning to my table. I can't say I have anything other than good memories of this place but unless you order a giant beer on a night when there's fireworks, the service levels make me disinclined to recommend it. read more

Stayed here for three nights, and it was absolutely amazing! It was close to all of the attractions and walking distance to literally all of the attractions that you would ever want to see. The staff is amazing, you get a welcome drink, and you get complementary little snacks when you check in. They will go above and beyond for you. All you have to do is be nice. read more

We recently stayed stayed at the My Story hotel on Rua Áurea. It's one of a chain, with each hotel named after the street it's in. It's very centrally located in Baixa, close to the seafront, trams, the historic Santa Justa lift, the cathedral and the Chiado shopping district. There's a metro station a few minutes away. Check in was very straightforward and we had a nice room: we found out later that the room was one of the larger rooms in the floor: it had a small vestibule area, separate bathroom and wardrobe unit, as well as a table. The room had a TV and safe, but no tea/coffee facilities. The smaller rooms look as though they have been made en-suite by having a shower and bathroom unit added in afterwards, so have no separate wardrobe. Our experience would, I think, have been different had we not had the larger room. There's a minibar, but we were also provided with a bottle of water each day and a small pack of the traditional Portuguese custard tarts on arrival, which was a nice touch. Room service was good and it was all very clean. The bathroom had a large shower, but a small sink unit, and a hairdryer. The bathroom was a little tired but the rest of the furnishings were fine. The bed was a king size and very comfortable, and the A/C worked well. The windows and shutters were very effective at keeping out street noise and we slept well. The restaurant is small but the staff were friendly: the breakfast buffet featured a great selection of breads, pastries, freshly prepared fruit, nuts, cheeses and salad, with great coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. The hot section (bacon, scrambled egg and beans) was a bit more limited, as was the cereal selection. But there was plenty to set you up for the day. We also dined there in the evening and enjoyed our meals - two courses and drinks for two people coming to about €50-55. We found staff to be friendly and helpful throughout. read more

It's the first time I have felt hustled as a tourist. Man at front (think his name was Amid) told us food great - guaranteed it and also told use drinks were half price since we got there at the end of happy hour. Service initially was terrible. Waiter didn't tell us any rules about happy hour. Asked for bread and drinks, and waited. And waited. Should have left but we were having fun amongst ourselves. Got second waiter who was very helpful. Ordered and again waited forever for our food. 3 of 4 meals came out and we eventually started to eat so ours would be warm. 4th came much later. Food was solidly average but for the Caesar salad which was a pleasant surprise, though was more like a Cobb salad. When we got the bill, drinks were full price. We asked and the man up front said we should have been told rules of happy hour and blamed our waiter - didn't take our first orders. Lots of comments about the manger would come to talk to us, but "he was in the wash room" for an extended time. We paid our bill, gave our waiter a good tip since he was the only pleasant part of the experience. I don't usually write negative reviews and we travel a lot, but this was exceptionally bad and I want to alert others. read more

I just ate at Tanuki Sushi but I couldn't find it on Yelp so I put my review on this place cuz it's next to it or something. It was sooo mid. I sat down, looked at the menu and saw chicken nuggets on the same page as a California roll and I knew we went to the wrong place. The fish in the sushi definitely wasn't from any real ocean but probably from some greenish brown pond in bumf*ck nowhere. Anyway, the sushi was aesthetic and the sangria was tasty but watered down. I'm gonna go get my second dinner now. Probably McDonald's. read more

Clean, small cozy rooms, and a modern feel. They have a few locations in Lisboa. The staff is very helpful with making restaurant reservations for you and with other things you may need. Location is a double edged sword; if you like bars and restaurants cool...but if you like quite after mid-night, not so cool. There was two issues that brought my star rating down one; A small shelf in the shower was dangling off the wall. Small repair but it was overlooked by the cleaning staff the two nights we where there. The central air conditioning/heating did not work or turn on. I told the front desk about it, they assured me they'd take care of it but never did. We had to open the window for air. There is many bars in that location so the noise level is high until 3am. I will stay here again. but I'll make sure the air conditioning works before accepting the room. read more

My husband and I stayed at My Story Ouro in August; the room was clean and modern, the staff was super friendly, the breakfast was amazing, and the hotel is perfectly located for exploring Lisbon on foot. When we checked out, I forgot a few necklaces in our room but didn't realize until we'd already left the Portugal. The staff was very responsive via email and went above and beyond to help me ship the necklaces to our home in the United States. read more

My first time in Portugal or anywhere in across the pond. Landed in Lisboa @ 8am. My partner made the reservation @ My Story and they received us right away and gave us a room. The staff was extremely attentive, helpful ( my Portuguese is not good at all) and the most friendly I have met... the opposite of what we get here in the USA. They sent up to our room that day champagne and pastries, they saw on my passport that it was my 50th birthday. I was once again overwhelmed by their kindness, I will never forget that. After returning from the Algarve we stayed once again in another one of their hotels and again the staff and rooms were amazing. read more

On the surface, this seems like it is a great hotel. We actually upgraded our vacation package to stay here. It is clean, nice design, has a restaurant, etc... But, they weren't super helpful, or even a little helpful multiple times. Actually... they were kinda rude. First, the internet didn't work the first day we were there. Instead of resetting the router, they accused us of not knowing what we were doing (my BF is an IT person). So, they make us go downstairs to "show us how to do it right." It still didn't work. They refused to reset the router, and just basically said, oh well deal with it. Grrrr. The next day, we wanted a wine opener, go downstairs to borrow it, and they send us back upstairs to bring the bottle down, because they don't want us to steal the opener... WTF? Then, we are in the room in the middle of the day. The maid has already cleaned, and I just got out of the shower, and the maid just opens the effing door (hello me naked). Ummm.... why, just why? Apparently, she wanted to put water in the fridge??? Then, we want coffee in the morning, the BF was being sweet and was going to bring me some to the room... They told him no. Just no and said he had to drink it there.... Overall, Unimpressed and really pissed off that we paid extra to be treated like crap. I wouldn't stay here if I were you. read more

Nice hotel in a great location, very central and in easy walking distance to bars and restaurants. Rooms are nicely furnished and comfortable, but very small. Staff were great - helpful, friendly, and happy to answer any questions we had and help with making local bookings. The breakfast is reasonable, it's a buffet with a couple of hot items, bread, cold meats, and pastries. There's a small bar, with reasonably priced drinks. Although if you ask for a glass of water along with your alcoholic drinks, they charge you for a 750ml bottle! read more

This hotel is amazing. Amazing room to amazing staff. I had a good deal and the view from the balcony is spectacular. The staff down at the restaurant are wonderful people especially Andrè and Jordaan. They are two amazing staff. Andrè provided us with so much information of what wine to drink how it was made to where to eat. Jordaan is a great server who also provided great tips on what to do and what drinks are good. I couldn't ask for more and Lisbon when I come back I'm definitely staying here again. read more

Didn't stay here...just stopped by for a bite. Pun fully intended, here's my story. So I was in Lisbon on July 10, otherwise known as The Day Portugal Won Euro 2016. I really wanted to watch the game with thousands of crazy locals in Praça do Comércio, Lisbon's largest square. The problem was that it was my last day in Europe (my flight was later that day), and I really didn't fancy lugging my suitcase through what promised to be a rowdy and drunken crowd. So on a whim, I rolled my luggage into the My Story hotel, which is just a few blocks off the main square. When I bashfully asked the receptionist/doorman if I could leave my bag there, he instantly agreed...no questions asked. I wasn't even a guest at the hotel! The Portuguese are truly some of the nicest people I've ever met, and the employees of My Story only confirmed this. I left to watch the game, and the same doorman brought me my luggage when I returned 3 hours later. I felt incredibly grateful, but I didn't have any cash, so I decided to dine at the restaurant instead to show my appreciation. The whole evening was about what the My Story folks didn't have to do but did anyway. The doorman didn't have to store my suitcase, but he did. The host didn't have to seat me when they barely had any space, but he did. They didn't have to let me chill on the couch when I couldn't find an uber for an hour, but they did. And the bartender didn't have to get me a beer long after they had closed, but he did. It was truly a remarkable final meal in Portugal, and I don't think I'll ever forget it, thanks to the kindness of the My Story staff. Oh, and in case you were wondering about the food itself: it was fantastic, even outside the world-class service. I started with a creamy, savory mushroom-and-cheese concoction that was exceptional. The shrooms were spongy and moist, having soaked up all of the buttery sauce. Next, I went with the John Dory Filet. As an American, I had never heard of this type of fish, but the dish was phenomenal. It came with a thin, buttery sauce and a lovely risotto. I would have raved about My Story regardless thanks to the incredible kindness they showed me, but the exceptional food was just the cherry on top. read more
