There were tons and tons of vendors with all sorts of things at great prices for several city blocks with roads blocked off for pedestrians making it easy to shop. There was a nice mix of antiques and ceramics and old and new. I got a few small keepsakes as well as some totes and clothing for my daughter at fair prices. Definitely worth the visit. Plus, we walked through the charming Alfama and did additional shopping and snacking along the way. Several really cute breakfast spots can be found here.

Vendors range from vintage knick knacks to handmade jewelry to touristy tchotchkes. It's a bit out of the way depending on where you're staying - we opted to Uber which took about 20 minutes. The roads surrounding the market are very windy and hilly so it's not the most walkable depending on what you're used to. I ended up purchasing some beautiful handmade jewelry from one of the vendors. She was incredibly sweet and her prices were reasonable for the quality of materials. These pieces are some of my most prized possessions now! There's also food stalls with refreshing lemonade, coffee, etc. I highly recommend stopping by the Flea Market on a Tuesday or Saturday to get some unique treasures to remember your trip to Lisbon.

If you're a tourist, this is more about supporting locals. Nothing historic, just lots of cool art. If you're local, I imagine this is the place to get cool unique things. The one thing that's really pretty to see here is the bookstore. Other than that if visiting from another country, I would find other things to see.

The charms of Lisbon's LX Factory - a one-time textile manufactory - were a little lost on me…read more I'd read that its restaurants cater to tourists so made no attempt to arrive hungry. Nor did I arrive angling for a cocktail. I expected to see art and unique artsy products for sale but after I wandered the shops on the ground floor and what was open on the second floor I left with, basically, a shoulder-shrug. I'd found only two places here (a bookstore and a sort-of-camera store) that really caught my interest and the rest seemed not to feature anything that I liked more than things that I'd seen for sale elsewhere in town. I have a hunch that LX Factory is slightly more fun if you stop and enjoy a drink, perhaps on a sunny Sunday afternoon. That's the day that they feature the outdoor "Sunday Market" at which (hopefully) they feature a wider array of unique art and/or handmade offerings. I spent long enough in Lisbon that I didn't regret making time for the LX Market but if I'd had only a short time to see the city I'd not have been happy having spent any time here at all.

The main course took 30 minutes (luckily they advised us of this as we ordered) and came out amazing! The duck was so tender and flavorful with the rice. The flavor profile was mind blowing honestly. Atmosphere: Was lively. There was a live singer walking around singing 2000 r&b hits all night. The restaurant is lightly dim and perfect for a date. Honestly, hands down the best restaurant I tasted in Lisbon while on vacation.

They also were able to close the slats on the patio roof cover to let less sun in. There were a couple kids menu items, I just remember the spaghetti and the kids enjoyed that. It's a 25-step climb from the front door to the lobby/office. It's another 25-step step climb from the lobby/office to the one person/luggage elevator that only goes from floor "one" to floor "four" with no stops in between, and which was out of service during our two-night stay. So, I counted about 150 steps up to the roof, a little less to our room on the fifth floor. The rooftop bar offers a 20% discount to hotel guests, but only on food, not on alcohol. The complimentary breakfast is served up there from 730am to 1000am. Fruits, meats, eggs, cheese, pastries, coffee and juice. Good stuff. Upon check in, the staff helped us get out luggage up to 5th floor room. Room was clean and spacious, as was the bathroom. A/C worked well. We had an early flight and asked for assistance getting our luggage down as a taxi was picking us up at 630am the following morning. We were told the staff doesn't show up until 700am. (I found it odd that there is no staff overnight after the rooftop bar closes. What happens if a pipe bursts or something of that nature? Very strange). Anyway, the manager said he would show up at 620am to assist with our luggage. And he did show up at 620am. Also gave us a to go breakfast of juice, fruit and a meat and cheese sandwich to nosh on at the airport. Nice hotel, but not very accessible if you are old, frail or differently abled. The stairs. My husband and I loved the Alfama neighborhood so much that we really wanted to purchase souvenirs from it. We were walking along the beautiful, old, cobblestone alleys when we encountered this shop. An employee spoke very nicely with us. He explained how he prints tiles in his shop, and he showed us how he does the printing. The shelves had other merchandise such as handbags, keychains, mugs, water bottles, stuffed animals, etcetera. I purchased two wallets and one tile. Unfortunately, I later saw on the inside tags that the wallets were not made from actual cork but rather a synthetic material and were made in China. I had planned to give those wallets as gifts to friends, but I instead donated them to charity. I did give the tile as a gift to a family member.

Cerâmicas na Linha was widely recommended by acquaintances and influencers all over Tiktok but none of that prepared me for the overwhelming compulsion to buy everything minutes after stepping into the shop. Were it not for luggage restrictions, I would have definitely done a lot more damage here. While the store itself is not super large, it's easy to spend hours browsing as there are a multitude of items ranging from decorative centerpieces, ornamental trinkets to practical tableware as well as intricate Portuguese tiles. I was just in Japan marveling over all the ceramics that I wished I could bring home, but I have to say the Portuguese ceramic game is on a whole another level... the pieces are unique (no two pieces are identical), well-made and best of all, very economically priced. I ended up purchasing multiple pieces of tableware (plates and bowls) while my partner bought a large ornamental ceramic cat as a gift -- all for around 70 euros! Make sure to ask them for bubble wrap (priced at 1€ per square meter-- the ladies at the counter will tell you how much you need) to protect your pieces for the journey home. A must visit during your trip to Lisbon to stock up on the most unique of gifts and home tableware, but if you plan on visiting I would recommend bringing along an extra suitcase! :^)
