Let me preface by saying I've only had one visit and it was for my 5 year old, this may be long but…read moreI hope it helps anyone that is in a similar situation. I switched both my children to this pediatrician after the lack of care I received at our previous office. It's a night and day difference. Let me tell you what we dealt with BEFORE we made the change to Blue Fish Pediatrics, it's a LONG list. Long wait times in the waiting room, and exam room (45+ minutes) Different pediatricians every visit even when I requested the same one. I was constantly invalidated. I never felt heard, I always felt judged for asking questions, there was always a condescending tone as if I was stupid. Whenever we would see the actual pediatrician, we only saw them for about 3 minutes and they quickly moved on before we had a chance to speak. It was so rushed. So, long wait times and no actual interaction with the person who is taking care of my children's medical needs. If any of this resonates with you, PLEASE switch your children to Blue Fish. I cannot BEGIN to tell you how wonderful I felt after my son's visit. First off, the nurses were very kind and everything was organized from the start. They were all super friendly at the front desk and whenever I called to make the switch! They nicely answered all my questions about the all paperwork that was needed. Moving on to his actual appointment, I felt heard and I felt so comfortable. My questions were answered fully without any condescending or judge-y tone. We waited maybe less than 5 minutes in the waiting room, and about 2 minutes in the exam room before the actual pediatrician, Dr. Townsend came in. He was so thorough and I'm sure it was about a good 15-20 minute full on exam for my son. (Longer than any wellness visit he's ever had). I did not feel rushed, I asked a ton of questions that I probably didn't need to because he covered everything. I ESPECIALLY loved that he asked my 5 year old for consent to check him. My only regret was not switching my children to this place sooner. Everything was so clean and sanitized. My child was so happy, he said he wanted to go back so the doctor can check for the birds in his ears (their otoscope plays birds sounds I think, whenever they check their ears, it tweets!) He's never said that about any doctor's office. They genuinely seem to care about what they do, and it definitely shows. I would recommend this place to ANYONE with a child. Seriously, the best!

We were pleasantly surprised to receive exceptional care from day 1 from Dr. Townsend. On top of that, administration and all support staff has always been incredibly friendly and helpful. In response to recent negations with BCBS, the staff sent an incredibly helpful and transparent email detailing options for patients to either choose to self pay or reschedule. They addressed all potential concerns openly and candidly, which was so helpful in a confusing time. We would hate to lose access to this wonderful office to care for our daughter, and hope BCBS and MH negotiations come to an agreement soon so we can return to our trusted pediatric home!

Dr Nguyen, nurse Kelley & sarah are honestly the best peds staff I've ever seen. ( there is another…read morenurse that sees us but her name has escaped me and she is very sweet as well) My daughter had a ton of issues when she was real little ( ended up with ear tubes placed) so there for a while we were always in for high fevers, and ear infections etc. Sarah the triage NP is honestly the best. She is very thorough & always fits us in if we need to be seen and always makes me feel heard & she comes out to see my daughter when we are there and my daughter runs to her and gives her hugs. Nurse kelley is the sweetest person & my daughter adores her. She always remembers us, and her & my daughter talk like they are best friends. That doesn't sound huge until you are a mom, and you see your kid light up. ( my daughter is 2.5 so the fact she remembers her speaks volumes to who kelley is as a person) and I know we are not "special" in any way. They are just that amazing of humans - not just at their jobs. Dr Nguyen is truly amazing. There is nothing I can't ask or be honest about. She always gives us solid advice & real world answers not just its time to start potty training and then nothing else. She gave me idea for books, dolls, particularly potties etc for me to use to help. She is a mom not just a doctor and she makes me feel understood and heard. She also remembers me & my daughter and not just things you can put in the chart. Even the billing person who I can't think of her name at the moment but came to talk to us about the changes in our insurance plan when it changed at the beginning of the year. Which I really appreciated that they wanted us to be aware of our insurance plan. I thought that went above & beyond the Standard care. She was an amazing human as well. Extremely sweet & gave my daughter a sticker & bubbles. Which happens to be a fan fave at our house, and she remembered it. My daughter was sick with a high fever and I told her we were going to see the doctor's office... and she said yayyyy the doctor's office! She had been in a terrible mood ( she is 2.5 so everything was just awful in her opinion) so it's just a testament of who these women are to our family when even a sick baby realizes they are good ones. She thinks they are her friends, and I happen to agree with her. I do feel like I get to see some friends when we go in. They are always very fast. Efficient. Very thorough. And I have never felt rushed. They always fit us in. So not only the staff we interact with, but their front office have to be stellar at their jobs as well. We have seen other drs in this office when Dr Nguyen was out, or booked & we have really liked all the other staff as well. I think they are amazing at their jobs, and amazing humans as well. I appreciate everything they do for our family.

First, I would like to say that the front office staff is not very organized. I had to fill out…read moreinformation for my children to be moved over to their practice twice. At our visit, they still had not faxed over our request to transfer from our old pediatrician. This to me shows that they are not really thorough in their procedures or care. Secondly, I have a tween and they gave them paperwork about feelings of suicide for them to do on their own. Our old pediatrician never gave us paperwork like that and it made my child wonder why they would give them that. I understand that mental health is important and should be discussed, however I am not wanting that idea to be introduced to my child at such a impressionable age especially if they are not going through something like that. The experience with the nurse was great. She seemed caring and proactive about getting my child's information moved over. She gets 5 stars! Dr Nguyen. I believe we had seen before for we decided to switch over with a different/younger child and felt that her care was great, however this visit was different (not sure if it was because we have a tween). She made a comment about medication that my child was taking and made me feel that it wasn't ok. I asked Dr Nguyen if it was ok (prescribed by previous pediatrician) and she said, yes. Then she asked my child if they wanted to ask her anything or say anything with me not in the room. When we declined getting the flu shot, I had to fill out paperwork saying that I was given the option and declined. Again, these are things that we have never experienced at our old pediatrician especially on a first visit. It felt very sterile and that parents are not the ones making choices for their own children in my opinion. Also the extra paperwork about suicide, asking her things with me not in the room, and paperwork declining the flu shot just put me off. With all this to say, I'm considering staying at our old pediatrician and doing the drive because there I felt heard as a parent and my child's care was most important.
