The food was good, not overly fantastic for the price, but the waiter we had by the name of William was absolutely so awful that I refuse to ever go there again. He was borderline rude to me. He was very dismissive of me but was very attentive to my husband. He clearly does not like women and showed it. This was our anniversary dinner and there was no mention of our anniversary. They really need to clean up their wait staff. The restaurant itself was pretty but the experience was definitely one that I'll remember and not in a good way. Hope they get rid of him. Called to inquire about online menu because it says Indian restaurant but menu was totally american. Kid that answered phone was rude. Told me I was looking at wrong menu (obviously) and couldn't get off the phone fast enough. Also said they weren't offering takeout and it's Saturday night. Kind of strange during pandemic. Read other reviews since then and they said the same thing about rude staff and food is supposed to be mediocre. Guess that rude guy saved me a trip. No interest in trying them now. read more

If I could not put a star I would. The manager/owner of this place should be ashamed by his service. My family came here last night to have a wonderful meal only to be treated with disrespect. The food came in an about an hour & everything was cold. The naan was half cooked and tasted like it came from the frozen section of an Indian grocery store. Is this what elevated Indian cuisine is? When my father started to express his concerns the manager/owner said "you be quiet and listen to me." He was not apologetic for his service and had no remorse for treating my family poorly. They ended up paying $400 for the bill & didn't even eat the entree. Judging from the numerous one star Yelp reviews this man has done this to several POC patrons. Please save your money. Very inconsistent. We ate there in April and got the famed avocado salad, which was excellent, with fresh chunks of avocado and corn as advertised. This past weekend, the same thing was a mush of greens under a tortilla. This website won't allow a post of the photo. My fish was very bland, without the advertised sesame seeds or sauce. My daughter's tequila drink looked (and apparently tasted) like seaweed. When I called to inquire about the discrepancy in the menu? I was so looking forward to going to Peerce's Plantation tonight with some friends and my first impression was OK - loved the atmosphere and fire pits, however, I don't appreciate creepy staff looking at me and my friends all night. The app was great... the lump crab/cucumber dish - delicious. From there, it took a nasty turn. I ordered a "filet" and the waitress said it comes medium rare, so that's perfect for me and exactly how I like it. When this arrived I was ready to dive in, but after two bites in (and even the appearance) I realized it was well done. I showed my steak to our waitress, and she agreed it was not medium rare, apologized and said she would have it corrected. Fast forward five minutes and to my surprise, the waitress is bringing back my original meal/steak and said "I am sorry, but the chef and Manager asked that I cut the steak in half to prove that is medium rare." Mind you, this a filet and is not large. Not to mention, we are in the midst of COVID and after taking it back to the kitchen then walked back out to the table, I immediately said "I will cut this in half, but there is no way way I can now eat this". After a few minutes of reflecting, I asked to speak to their manager. To my surprise, this guy was all over me telling me I didn't know what medium rare was! Mind you, I am great on the grill and make this temperature steak for my family on a monthly basis. To say that we were all stunned by the tone deaf manager was an understatement and the way he was inappropriately yelling at me was very off putting. He showed me a picture that he took of the inside of the steak, which I then compared with a generic google search of a "medium rare steak". Needless to say, we will never return. My message to you is don't be fooled by outward appearances because negative, aggressive and demeaning management can be lurking inside. Be nice to your customers! read more

Foods tasted very good and met my expectation. The outdoor dining environment was nice. The service was on average. The price was a little bit high and the quantity was relatively small. When I booked the reservation, there was an option for the purpose of dining. I selected as for a birthday celebration. Unfortunately, there was no word from the restaurant about the greetings. Went on a very cold night and were welcomed by a stunning, cozy interior with warm fireplaces, welcoming staff, and a huge bar for a pre-meal cocktail. We all love this restaurant! The food is absolutely amazing and the ambience is A+ wonderful. As a soft shelled crab lover, I believe these were the best I have ever eaten. Others in our groups have remarked in the same manner about their entrees, such as the halibut and other seafood. The more traditional entrees such as the biryanis and Tandoori selections met with the same overwhelmingly positive response. My brother is a "meat-and-potatoes" only guy and he requests this restaurant when he comes to town. The setting is beautiful and feels like a garden oasis. The waitstaff is professional. Overall, this has become our favorite restaurant. I can only wish they were open even for lunch. read more

The worst dining experience ever. I will never ever return. The owner is absolutely horrible. My girlfriends and I went out to celebrate a birthday. It was a cool night and there were 2 heaters next to our table. We asked the waiter if he could turn on the heaters. He wasn't sure if they were working. The waiter then brought the manager over and my friend asked him if he could please turn on the heater. He replied to my friend, "what did you say to me", my friend asked can you turn the heater on. He replied, "WHAT DID YOU ASK ME??". Then he said, "someone needs to go to Home Depot to get propane". He was yelling and nasty. I replied that there was no need to be angry and yell at us. He proceeded to tell us to get out of his restaurant. There was absolutely no need for this reaction. I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant before. We wanted to like this place because it is very near our home, but we were very disappointed with our meal. We had Lamb Vindaloo and Malai Kofta for takeout. Let's just start with the rice. The rice was terrible. It was old, lumpy and dried out. The Lamb Vindaloo only had two very large chunks of lamb, two large hunks of potato and one large hunk of a tomato in the whole dish. Vindaloo should be spicy hot and the curry/gravy was just terrible tasting as well with very little hot spice. The Malai Kofta was very good, but not enough to return too this establishment. If you want good Indian food I suggest you go elsewhere. read more

Quite disappointing...been here a handful of times and always had a great experience besides today. Have not been here in a while so decided to make a reservation for dinner. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a male host who was very pleasant and took us to our table. The waitress then came up and took our drink and food orders. Everything came out super quick. A little too quick. Apparently there was a wedding happening so hopefully the food was not the excess from the wedding. We got 2 appetizers...samosa chaat and an eggplant appetizer. Both came out Luke warm. For our meal we had the chicken tikka masala which we raved about in the past and were looking forward to. The chicken tikka masala was not how we remembered it. The chunks were huge and the sauce was not that great. I remember during the previous visits, I would love to dip the garlic naan in the sauce but this time I took a few bites and had enough. Not sure if the recipe changed or the chef changed but it was not as good as before. We barely touched our food and packed it up. We were only there not even an hour, that shows how fast the food came out which was a little suspicious. Overall, atmosphere was good, people were friendly but the food was sub par. After waiting so long for a reincarnation of Peerce's, we were totally disappointed in this iteration. We almost didn't go inside, because they hadn't shoveled last night's snow, which had melted and refrozen on the walkway, and negotiating it was an adventure. Once inside, the barman asked if we had reservations, which made it hard to suppress a chuckle because there was only one other couple in the entire dining room. Even though there was no shortage of tables, we were seated at a table-for-two that would be an appropriate size at a deli or Mickey D's. It was so cramped that we had them remove the candle and our water glasses to make room for the plates. I have to say that I was very impressed with the preparation of one of the chicken appetizers (called a 'small plate', but it was way smaller than that): I finally found a kitchen that can dry out chicken thighs. Yuck. The fried spinach "small plate" was okay. I had one of the shrimp dishes, and again the kitchen worked its magic and brought out three (just three for $28) overcooked, dried out, stringy shrimp. My wife's beef tenderloin (shouldn't there be alarm bells when an Indian restaurant has beef on the menu?) was too rare, and amazingly, also dried out and tasteless. At least the kitchen was consistent. My wife loves Indian desserts, but when she was given the dessert menu she found that they only offered Western-style sweets. And all this for $112 before tip. My daughter, my adult granddaughter and I chose Peerce's on a lovely May evening to celebrate two birthdays and Mother's Day. The three of us love Indian food, and have eaten in a number of Indian restaurants throughout the US. I had eaten at the Ambassador Restaurant (same family) On a number of occasions and was excited about Peerce's reputation. We were quickly seated inside (our choice), but waited quite a while for our menus. Service was slow, but the restaurant was very busy. We placed our orders: Baked corn and avocado salad (good), Kashmiri Naan, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Chicken Biriyani. After the salad, the Kashmiri Naan arrived. It was tough and did not taste like any Kashmiri Naan I had ever eaten. We then waited, and waited, and waited for our entrees. OMG what a disappointment! They each tasted watered-down. It was not the degree of spiciness. We all like our Indian food mild. It was the uninteresting taste. We decided the chef must be preparing Indian food for people who normally don't like Indian food. We have never left an Indian restaurant without taking every morsel of uneaten food with us. That night, we left it all there. Never disappoints. Upscale Indian food. Very diverse menu to suit any palate. Tonight our group had chicken vindaloo, crab marabala and braised short ribs. Everything was superb. Vindaloo was loaded with chicken (not with vegetables like other places). The braised short ribs were fork tender. My crab Matabele was full of lump crab meat with delicate spice as to not over power the crab. If you are looking for intense Indian spices (I like both) then the crab would not be the dish for you. Service was timely but not rushed. I read another review that they felt rushed (thank you for that heads up review by the way) so I intentionally ordered the appetizers and then waited to order the entrees. The martinis were not "dry" as requested but the blue cheese olives were delish. First time we have eaten inside and the ambiance was lovely. Tables not crowded together. This is not an inexpensive restaurant. If you want cheap prices then go to "fast Indian" places like Cafe Spice (which is good by the way but run of the mill Indian food. Chunks of chicken in a sauce etc.) Peerce's is spectacular, unique, high end cuisine. The dining experience is the icing on the cake. Call to make reservations. We just had another amazing dinner last night at Peerces. It started with a wonderful salad with goat cheese that was delicious. My beef tenderloin and potatoes was amazing & my husband's crab dish stellar. The wine list is reasonably priced our Pinot Grigio is $24 a bottle the physical renovation is an unbelievable. My husband who is not wild about Indian food loves this restaurant. If you want to dip your toes in a different type of food with unexpected deliciousness - this would be the place to try. They had a great atmosphere and nice service. The food was fine. It's definitely a place for people who don't know good authentic Indian food but want an elegant atmosphere. I was told at the beginning that I had to order all of my food at once. Basically telling me they need to flip the table. I'm not a fan of being told how I need to order. The samosa was fine. The corn and avocado salad was 1 cup of avocado and cucumber(not in the description) with literally 3 kernels of corn. The veggie fritters in curry was actually great. The chicken cheera was described as spinach, green chili's, ginger and tomato. It came as sabzi(creamed spinach) with a few pieces of dry chicken, no tomato at all, no ginger, no green chili. The tenderloin tandoori was a piece of tenderloin with salt and pepper on a bed of a flavorless sauce. It was supposed to come with seasonal vegetables but actually came with more of the creamed spinach. It's a great place if you want sub par Indian food at at a high price with a nice atmosphere. read more

We heard great things about this place, another offering from the powerhouse team behind a couple of other amazing Indian restaurants, and they were ALL TRUE. We were especially drawn by the description of the outdoor dining area, and it was lovely - a shady patio with lush plantings and lots of fans. The staff was consistently brisk and professional but also seemed genuinely warm and friendly (shout-out to our server in the lounge area whose name we unfortunately did not capture, and our awesome waiter Nelson!). We loved the food, especially the Crab Kerala appetizer with lump crab and sweet corn, and the Garam Masala Goat, which my husband ordered out of curiosity but was truly transcendent with layers of warm complex flavor and amazing texture. The only negative was other couples crowding into the outdoor lounge or strolling through the the restaurant without their masks. It was a pretty long drive but worth it and we definitely intend to go back. read more
