Best Mexican restaurant in the Kennebunks. You won't be disappointed. Friendly staff and awesome food.

Food is terrible and bartender was incredibly rude! The only reason people go here is because nowhere else in KBP is open.

This has to be the best Mexican place in Southern Maine. From service to food, we were in love!! read more

The negative reviews on here are crap. It is impossible to eat ANYWHERE in KBP it is the busiest most crowded place anywhere you go. That being said Pedros was the ONLY place during our trip we were seated quickly. Our servers were very nice and the food was amazing. Best salsa we have ever had at a Mexican restaurant. When you eat out you should expect, that since a human is serving you, and many other tables, at a casual texmex joint, that it will not be perfect. I loved it here. There are churros and if you are sad you should order them, just so you know. read more

My bf and I decided to stop by around 3PM on a Thursday. It wasn't that busy even when it was happy hour. Our waiter didn't seem too happy to see us. We get it, tourists aren't exactly Maine's favorite types of people. I got the shrimp tacos and the "Blanca" Sangria and let's just say it wasn't the most pleasant food I've had. He got the special (Baja) tacos and he felt sick afterwards. What was sad was that the black beans that they served with our tacos and rice were straight out of the can. The food was dry or undercooked. The alcoholic drinks tasted like watery soda. I do not recommend going here if you want Mexican food. read more

Had an absolutely incredible meal at Pedro's. The drinks were exceptional, the waitstaff was phenomenal, and the food even better. I love when a restaurant is accommodating for vegans. This would have been a five-star review, but we both looked forward to speaking with the owner about our experience, but he chose to stop and socialize at every table but ours (including some tables multiple times). As a restaurant owner, you may want to focus more attention on ALL of your guests, especially since you make a point to stop and speak with customers. The ones you miss may have something worthwhile to share. read more

Walking through KPort on our way to a different restaurant for cocktails, Pedro's caught our eye. There was live music, ample outdoor seating, and - despite the fact that it was a Sunday - happy hour specials. We still walked all the way to our original destination only to find it closed... so guess where we turned around and headed back to? (Sometimes it's a good thing when your plans don't work out the way you want them to.) Pedro's seemed pretty busy, but we walked in and immediately snagged a table that was near the doors to the outdoor patio (which is exactly what I wanted because a) it was a tad too cold to sit outside entirely, and b) it was kind of like being *at* the party without being *in* the party, does that make sense?). The cover band playing out there couldn't have been more perfect: they played classics that everyone knew (Van Morrison, Beatles, Eagles, Jimmy Buffet), and the volume was exactly right (I could hear the person I was with no problem - when does that happen anymore?). Customers ranged from young twenty-something dudes drinking crappy beer out of cans, to families with little kids who were dancing underfoot of the servers (who were entirely gracious about it), to octogenarians diving youthfully into nachos. I'm a fan of any place that brings that kind of variety through it's doors. I'm also a fan of $5 happy hour margaritas with a thick rim of salt that come in regular sized glasses. Anyone else a little exhausted of fancy margarita flavors that skimp on everything (flavor, alcohol, size, etc.)? You're not gonna find that Pedro's. You want a margarita the way you know margaritas to be? That's what you're gonna get. And the chips and salsa were awesome, too. We got the large guacamole ($12; best guac ever? no, I make that, but it was absolutely worth the price tag for the amount you get) and a small side of salsa roja ($2). The error here was not getting the large salsa roja: it was so delicious, with the right amount of spice, I could have drunk it (and yes, I did wipe the bowl clean with my finger... do you think we could start a trend where instead of a shot of cheap whiskey followed by a shot of pickle juice, we take a shot of cheap tequila followed by a shot of salsa liquid? I'm in if you are!). Baskets of chips came out without us having to ask when we got low (and we weren't charged for them like most places are doing now). I can't speak to the rest of the food... but we were incredibly happy with our Sunday afternoon here. Sure, I admit, the service was all over the place: however, there were only four employees (one bartender who was pulling double-duty as the hostess, and three servers) in the ENTIRE restaurant and there wasn't a single empty table. Every interaction we had with our server was super friendly and apologetic for the wait, so the fact that it took a little while for things to come out didn't bother us. Don't let it bother you. Have a margarita, listen to the tunes, and remember: you're in Maine, outside with a drink, and nice weather is oh-so-very short here... so just soak it all in. read more

Cute atmosphere, we ate out on the deck. We had the Large nachos with added beans- delicious. A large filled us both up- we couldn't even finish it. A little pricey but very yummy. We'll come back when we're in the area again. read more

I gave it 2* because I love the atmosphere and margaritas! Since this restaurant was sold the food is now a 1*. Everything changed and the food is awful! Too bad was our weekly spot pre COVID- this was the 1st and last time back unfortunately. We miss the OLD PEDRO s had the best staff - chefs! read more

Went to Pedro's for the first time last night- it's been on my to-do list as I've heard great things about their margaritas. We were quickly seated. Staff was friendly and attentive. The restrooms were clean and I also really enjoyed the decoration inside and outside. We showed up at the very tail end of happy hour- our waitress still was kind enough to count our first round of drinks as happy hour prices. The classic margarita was good and I enjoyed a few draft Modelos as well. We shared a plate of nachos to start and I ordered the barbacoa burrito for my entree. Both appetizer and burrito were largely portioned and delicious! All was reasonably priced as well. Overall, cool little spot and good food! read more

This was an excellent stop on our East Coast trip. The biggest raves were for any dish with chicken in it. They claimed it's very moist and really delicious. The salsa was tasty. Drinks were solid. Chili special was a hit. The chicken fajitas and shrimp tacos are great choices. I think the best part was the fun semi party atmosphere with cute lights, Halloween decorations and good music. With Covid on a Tuesday night there weren't many options, but we were thrilled to stumble upon this place and will definitely be back! read more

Ehhh... just ok. The quality of the food was pretty good, and the atmosphere was cool. But the portions are very small. The tacos are only 6-8 inches. There are no complementary amenities such as chips and salsa, those were an extra $9 as appetizers. The margaritas were very weak, mostly margarita mix, and the salt didn't seem correct, seemed like table salt. I left hungry.... Probably won't return. read more

I've heard some locals enthuse about this place, so I looked forward to my first visit. Either they were wrong or our timing was poor. Overpriced, slow, and mediocre sums it up. I'll praise the soup special, a cilantro-and-lime chicken-and-rice concoction with avocado chunks and a pleasing broth. The tortilla crisps are good, too. The guacamole they got dipped into was alright, but the salsa was bland. Little flavor and no heat. Fish tacos were adequate, unimaginative. A warm margarita, though. That's wrong. read more

Pedro's is a favorite for Mexican food in Kpt. Their nachos are amazing -- the best item on the menu, in my opinion. Other great options are the burritos and quesadillas. The drinks are always great too. It's right in/near town, and there's a few parking lots right near by which is helpful. The patio is a fun vibe in the summer. Staff is very nice. read more

Fish tacos were awful. Maybe 1.5 oz per taco and fried to death. Shouldn't be the case with all the amazing fish here in Maine.Black beans weren't cooked with any flavor and under done. Fried flour tortillas and not corn for chips? The hot sauce was the highlight, super hot. The pain killer cocktail was very good. Our server was excellent given the fact they were packed! The food needs someone to help who has a Tex Mex understanding. Great location and charm. read more

Went in for dinner on 7/16/22 and had one of the worst service experiences of my life. Our waiter, Matt, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or some other controlled substance. He forgot one of our drink orders, didn't bring enough glasses for the pitcher of sangria, forgot to put our order of nachos in, resulting in the appetizer coming out after the food AND the wrong size. Then, a nice woman comes out asking if we got food but didn't know what dishes she was holding. Overall, service was a mess here and our server was making similar mistakes at other tables. The guacamole was decent and the food was was satisfactory, but the service really left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

My wife and I ate at Pedro's lat night. She had Sopa de Marisco, and I had enchiladas rojas.both were pleasantly spicy, and the flavors were distinct rather than all muted as you so often find in midrange Mexican cooking. Service was quick and friendly. One note: we went early, which was good because threre was a line by 7 - and this is well before the season starts. Parking is also very limited. read more

Having eaten at hundreds of great Mexican Restaurants, I can say this is not one of them. The salsa was like cold spaghetti sauce, the fish tacos had litterly no fish, just fried breading, my Al Pastor taco tortillas were overcooked, however, the ingredients were tasty, and the Burrito was good except for no Queso. Apparently, Queso is a special order? Additionally, I have never had to order Chips and Salsa? The one star is for the drinks. They were good. read more

We had a great time at Pedro's, the atmosphere was fun and casual, and the food was delicious. The decor in the restaurant sets the vibe for the entire experience. It's eclectic, but not in the calculated sense of an Applebee's a la 2000. Instead, it communicates that there's fun to be had here. The margaritas help that message of fun along quite nicely as well. Even the basic, no frills version is tasty. Unlike some restaurants I've been to, they don't skimp on the basic margarita as a way of forcing you to upgrade to a more expensive version. If we hadn't been driving later, I would have been happy to sit around and drink these all night. The food is also terrific. Yes, you pay for your chips and salsa, but it's well worth it. The chips taste fresh, none of this bagged totilla chip nonsense here. And the roja salsa was fantastic. Starting a trend that continued throughout the rest of our meal, it wasn't an "authentic" salsa roja. It was just a tasty one. And that sums up what I liked best about Pedro's: it knows what it wants to be. Delicious food, fun atmosphere. Another example of that approach was the refried beans. They were sort of sweet, with a unique mix of spices. They didn't taste like any other refried beans I'd ever had. And I liked them that much more for it. My only regret about the restaurant? That we visited on vacation and that it's normally so far away. read more

Absolutely horrid service. I was a return "guest." We stopped here every summer. On our way back from Bar Harbor and NESCAC college tours, we resumed our vacation in Kennebunkport and thought we'd go to one of favorite places. Realizing summer and COVId times, I called in the afternoon at 2:30 to make a reservation to be told that reservations weren't necessary. When we arrived, we were turned away because the waitlist booked them for the rest of the evening. The hostess gave me the long song and dance about how busy they are. This is terrible customer service in a town with lots of options. read more

I tried their queso fundido which was delicious. Pedro's is expensive for Mexican food. They charge for chips and salsa, but I would say that the chips are extraordinary. Their $12 burritos don't come with sides. My husband thought his beef burrito was good. read more

Really, really good Mexican food- in Maine- believe it or not! Great festive atmosphere and fun decor. We started with the guacamole, which was above average. (I compare all to Rosa Mexicano, so I have unattainably high expectations). I had the Mexican Street Tacos for my main course, which were so good and fresh! A perfectly sized portion- not too big, not too small. My husband had the Enchiladas Verde, which he enjoyed. Great change of pace to all the seafood we've been eating in KenneB. Highly recommend this place! read more

I took my granddaughter out for dinner to Pedro's last Saturday. I used to be a regular, but not as much recently. Since there was an hour wait for a table, I ordered a Margarita for myself and a coke for my granddaughter at the end of the bar. The weather was nice enough to sit outside and sip while we waited. I paid with my debit card and left an over 20% tip in cash. I clearly marked the merchant's receipt with cash as a tip and the final amount. A few days later I noticed that my card had been charged for a few dollars more than the agreed amount that I signed for. Not a big amount, but irksome non the less. I'm not a fan of that type of practice. Once we were seated, our dinner and server were very nice and luckily I only used cash for that transaction. read more

Really unpleasant experience there last night. First off, there is no kids' menu, but if you ask, they can make something small for the kids (and it rings up as "kid's taco" or "kid's quesadilla.") Really strange. My articulate eleven year old clearly ordered a "kid's steak taco" and asked for cheese and avocado on the side. When the food was brought out, it was literally a small bowl with steak, a small bowl with cheese and one slice of avocado in a bowl. No tortilla and no plate! When we were finally able to flag her down ten minutes later, she proceeded to argue with us that she "confirmed" this is what my daughter wanted (three side dishes?). She reluctantly brought over two small tortillas, charged us for them separately, and when all was added up, it was $19 for a kids' portion of tacos. Another server walked by and saw my daughter eating off of her napkin and asked us if we wanted a plate. Ummm, yea, we do. Shaylene continued to argue with us that she "confirmed" my daughter's order-I'm not sure what she meant by that but between the price, the attitude and the service, this is not a place I would return to. Also, this is the only Mexican place I have ever been to that charges for chips and salsa. read more

Want authentic Mexican but can't leave the country because of a pandemic travel ban? Then this is the spot. I would have added a photo but the only thing left when I was done was an empty plate. Went on a Saturday night. A little before 7pm. They were able to fit 6 of us outside right away no problem. After us there was a small wait. There's a parking lot!! However it does fill up fast. I was lucky enough to snag a spot. Chips and salsa were decent. Not free. I think it was like 2 dollars. Got the guacamole and it was very good. I had the small chicken tinga tacos. Small comes with two tacos, large is two tacos plus rice and beans. The chicken was delicious. Very juicy, cooked with peppers and onions and perfect amount of spice. My husband got the carne asada tacos and they were over cooked. Rice and beans were bland. I tried their special margarita which was watermelon. Very fresh, not artificial tasting. read more
