my favorite restaurant in town. the staff is amazing. the burritos and margs are to die for. i dream about the burritos and the nachos and the chips!! read more

One of the only places we could find food with a decent waiting time in Kennebunkport during our first time here. Our server was very friendly and prompt. The chicken tinga and barbacoa tacos were delicious and the margs were great! As a Texan, Tex-mex is hard to beat anywhere outside of the state but we were pleasantly surprised with the taste of everything. Atmosphere and music was also great! Highly recommend. read more

Very average food and poor service. Avoid this tourist trap. Owner cruises around and ignores the mess and confusion. Taco Bell blows this place away. read more

We had just arrived in town on hour before closing. But Pedro's welcomed us. Casey pours a great drink!

Not a good place for lunch. There is no lunch menu or lunch specials. Place was nearly empty when we went (albeit off season). Ordered a veggie taco, and had to pay extra for a tiny serving of rice and beans - $12.50 for very little food. The veggie taco was very bland, but had an overpowering sour taste, like they added chopped pickles or vinegar but skipped any Mexican spices - very strange. Friend order the flautas, which were better than the taco, but nothing outstanding. Service was fine. We went during January, and place was not well heated. We kept our coats on. Lunch at Davids or at Pedros sister restaurants, Pier 77 or the Ramp is far superior, with warmer atmosphere and at similiar price. Might return in summer when we can sit on deck and order drinks and chips/salsa but would not return for lunch. read more

As were leaving K to go another restaurant we were happily surprised by this wonderful Mexican restaurant. Peasant atmosphere, in or out, friendly staff, great margaritas, and the food was as good as you would fine anywhere. Don't miss this! read more

So happy to be back! We love Pedro's- great food, delicious margaritas and the atmosphere on the deck is the best. We had the nachos with their house-made carnitas this time, which were so delicious we ordered a second one. The quesadilla was also very yummy, and everything was freshly made, which makes all the difference. read more

Fresh food - good but not great Good margaritas Service can be anywhere from great to "meh." I have never been here in the summer, but from Oct to May, it always seems quite cold inside. Maybe it's me...? read more

MY husband and I had dinner at Pedro's last night and really liked it! The decor is fun and lively and appropriately tacky (and I say that as a good thing!) There's an outdoor patio as well, but we sat inside because the weather was a bit dicey. We both had red sangria that was fruity without being overly sweet. The hand-cut chips and salsa were very good, although the amount of salsa for the chips was rather measly. We should've asked for more. I had their vegetarian burrito- with sweet potato, black beans, spinach, cheese. MMMM! my husband loved his barbacoa platter! I snuck a few bites of his meat and it was perfectly spiced with a little kick. The service was quick-even though the place was packed, which is good. Our server was attentive too. It's definitely going to be on our list for when we're back in Kennebunkport! read more

My family has been coming to Kennebunkport every summer for the past 20 something years, and for the last few years we have been eating at Pedro's. They have delicious, authentic food and the restaurant itself has great character. The building is lined with cool and fascinating Mexican antiques from floor to ceiling. I always notice something new every time I visit. The meals are not too pricy, but as I said, they are authentic. This place is for everyone but the picky eater. I recommend the gringos tacos for anyone eating real tacos for the first time. read more

The best thing about this place was the music, in my opinion. The food is honestly not bad, pretty fresh and definitely not greasy. If anything, it was lacking a little in flavor. But I could (and would) have overlooked that if the service hadn't been so abysmal. In short, after the waitress took our order, we never saw her again. My friend had to walk up to her at a computer station to get her attention, in order to ask for some salt and a side of salsa for the tacos. I had to flag down the hostess AFTER we had finished our food to ask for more water-- which got me a sarcastic "Okay" and a carafe of water put on the table with a smirk. We caught her looking at us and laughing from across the room after she walked away. We then had to flag her down AGAIN to ask for the check-- when she was the one to clear our plates 10 minutes earlier! All in all, we were so put off by the attitude of this person and the absence of our waitress that it ruined the meal for both of us. I wish I had something better to say about this place. read more

Good Mexican in Kennebunkport, Maine? You're as surprised as I am! Pedro's was great; fresh food, good drinks, great atmosphere outside on the deck. We will definitely be back when we're in the area! read more

When looking for a break from seafood in a nice outdoor environment, we went to Pedro's. Classic food with a fun outdoor patio was what we got. The queso dip appetizer was great, we only wished the margaritas were less sour! read more

Pedro's - Queso appetizer with chorizo! Very good, not too spicy. - Mexican Near Me - Kennebunk, Maine

The nachos were so good and the burrito was phenomenal!!! it was a nice atmosphere! Also have really good mojitos!!!

Got takeout. Everything was there included all food as ordered, flatware and napkins. Food was on time. Food tasted great. Good portions, spicy and authentic. You could tell it was homemade. read more

Very attentive service. Very good food. Very good margarita. Do I need to say any more? The live music was a bit distracting. They just jumped around to a lot of random covers. Too loud for the space. I will overlook this since everything else was quite nice. read more

The best!!! Great food and great people. We visit Kennebunk once or twice a year and Pedro's is always the first place we eat.

Excellent Barbacoa Burrito!! Fantastic Michelada and Pain Killer beverages!! Chips and salsa very good too! Great atmosphere and location. Nice deck for outside eating when it's warm out. Definitely coming back!! read more

There aren't a ton of easy food options in Kennebunkport in peak season but this was great for escaping little kids and the excess of starchy fried foods. Excellent margaritas. The food was okay (I mean, Mexican food in Maine likely won't blow anyone away). I kind of recommend sticking with stuff that's hard to screw up like nachos or perhaps enchiladas. I didn't love that the waitstaff kept trying to upsell - recommending we order extra-large nacho platter, upgrading tacos to full meal, or pushing dessert - way too much food when I'd rather spend my calories on margaritas! read more

Took my family of 5 here (two adults, three young kids) with another family of four (two adults and two young kids). It is summer and it was packed. There was live music playing on the deck and it was definitely loud in the whole restaurant until they stopped playing. Fortunately, they take reservations for parties over 6, so we only waited for a few minutes to sit down. I was surprised by the amount of people that stared at us while we walked in with a stroller...not sure why when we saw plenty of families in there. The ambience is definitely more a Mexican cantina and bar feel. Not the feeling of a family type of Mexican restaurant. They do have a small kids menu. The waitress took our order, but it took forever to get chips and salsa. The salsa had a nice spicy after kick to it. The food came and it was definitely delicious. I ordered the large Gringo taco plate, which is basically the small taco plate of two tacos with rice and beans added. The ground beef definitely had a kick to it. After our meal, it took a while for the waitress to come to give us our check. There is an automatic 20% gratuity for parties over 8. Overall, great food and okay service. read more

The happy hour margarita pitcher and shaved steak burrito will blow your mind! The fruit in that burrito is the perfect addition. The staff is pleasant and they'll do good to go as well. Great atmosphere and hilarious decorations. read more

Pedro's - The decor makes this place! So much fun! - Mexican Near Me - Kennebunk, Maine

The food was meh. I mean, it was sort of good, but nothing special. The one thing I did like was the outdoor patio. When we went, they had live music which gave it a fun atmosphere. For that factor alone, I'm giving this place three stars instead of two. read more

The Chile Rellenos was one of the best I've had. The mussels with chorizo special suggested by our personable server, Amanda, was delicious with just the right amount of heat. The test of the staff were attentive and very courteous. read more

Having grown up in the area, I can say that Pedro's is a refreshing addition to the Kennebunkport restaurant scene. The owners of the infamous restaurants, The Ramp and Pier 77 are responsible for Pedros. For a mexican restaurant in a small town in maine, it is not too bad. The menu includes quesadillas, tacos, fajitas, burritos, and most importantly, delicious margaritas. The meal starts with complementary chips and salsa. The enchiladas and quesadillas were decent, but I was expecting a little better. The atmosphere is the best part. For those who love "ambiance", you will definitely find it here as Pedro's is dimly lit with candles and low lights, equipped with rustic wooden tables, and has rich artwork on the walls. The service is great, the price is right, and it is in an awesome location. The food is nothing special (I'm hoping it's b/c they are so new), but I'm sure Pedro's will be a success. read more

The boy and I came up to Kennebunk for my birthday, and instead of getting Seafood as one typically would in Maine, we got Mexican! Woohoo! Honestly, we had a great time and the atmosphere was busy and fun. We ordered the small Nachos, a few tacos, and a pitcher of Sangria. The food and the sangria was absolutely delicious and exactly what we wanted. I really enjoyed myself and recommend to other tourists who may want a break from the seafood :) read more

Pedro's was ok. No one in my party was impressed by the quality of our drinks (we had margaritas and sangria), in fact they were quite watered down. Our food took about a half an hour to arrive, it was right around dinner time and busy. Not a problem, but any longer would be pushing it. I split the nachos with a friend, they were decent but really spicy- which wasn't indicated by the menu at all. I'm not a huge fan of spice, and when it was unexpected it ruined it for me. Overall, the food is nothing special. Nothing personable about the staff. The bathroom was so poorly lit that I felt like I was going go get mugged, which is pretty impressive because it was a single person bathroom. Jokes aside, it was poorly lit by one ceiling bulb. Not impressed. Outdoor seating looked nice though. read more

Would you pay $13 for this taco?? Terrible service and food was mediocre, at BEST. Waited 20+ minutes to be greeted. Waited another 40+ min for food. Had to personally request multiple drink refills. Will not be returning. read more

Pedro's - Mexican Near Me - Kennebunk, Maine

I enjoyed my barbacoa burrito, and the barbacoa beef was very tasty. Overall, the experience was a good one, and I would be a happy repeat customer. However, the atmosphere was extremely loud and nearly deafening. I had to shout at the people next to me at the same table. Nothing terribly outstanding about the food, or really anything else, but it was good. My mother was served the wrong taco, but was brought the correct one within a reasonable period of time. Bus girl dropped a bunch of stuff from the plates on my dress, but nothing was visibly stained so I was okay. It was just part of the zany experience. read more

food was as Mexican as I am overpriced no flavor and you had to pay for chips lame

The best restaurant in Kennebunkport and the surrounding area. This place is amazing-the drinks and entree options are phenomenal. Everything is made in house . I have never had a level of customer service as exquisite as this. The owner made sure to introduce himself at every table and make sure his patrons are content. A MUST GO TO for all visitors in Kennebunkport! read more

The food was amazing! Sat outside on the deck which has great atmosphere. The wait on a Sunday night in July was about 30 minutes. However, the food was worth it. read more

Fantastic addition to the Kennebunk dining scene! Cozy bar with excellent drinks, Dos Equis and Belgian beer on tap, freshly prepared non-greasy chips and guac, super atmosphere. We went for the first time tonight and ate at the bar. Sara, longtime bartender at the sister restaurant, The Ramp in Cape Porpoise, took excellent care of us as always. We are local year-round residents and couldn't be happier to have found our new go-to spot for a great evening out. Highly recommended! read more

How is it that the best Mexican food we've had on the East coast is in Kennebunkport Maine???? Everything was homemade - the tortillas, the chips, the smokey-briased brisket. And that was just the start: not a lot of places understand the nuances of Mexican, that it is not just beans and spice. Pedro's clearly knows what they were doing: all the flavors were like a kaleidoscope from the chilis, the peppers and heat to the spice, the sweet and the smokey, to the crunch and the creamy...loved it. Went twice in 3 days. Picked up more on our way out of town for our drive home. Also visited their other restaurant Pier 77 and The Ramp. All excellent. Makes me want to move in next door. Hope to be back soon. Glad to hear they are open during the winter months! read more

No matter what part of the country we're in, my wife & often seek out the local Mexican restaurant as it is one of our favorite kinds of food. What a pleasant surprise for us to stumble into Pedro's for lunch. The place was packed, but the hostess managed to find us a rustic little table for two. The salsa & chips that we began with were perfect...lightly fried delicate chips with a wonderfully flavored salsa. (I LOVE salsa, and I've tried hundreds of them over the years, and Pedro's is easily one of my top five favorites). It was a great start to an even better meal. Since it was just 12:00 (breakfast OR lunch time for us) we were pleased to hear from our lovely waitress about a special being offered that day, sort of a breakfasty-lunch that included a skillet stuffed with seasoned rice & black beans, and topped with salsa, sour cream, two eggs (cooked to our liking) and topped with a slice of fried avocado, and two grilled flour tortillas on the side. It was absolutely delicious, and our only frustration was that it was much more food than either of us could finish! We only had coffee & soft drinks with our meals which were standard fare (perfectly fine), but we did notice a lot of people imbibing on the nice selection of craft beers that were available. They also have a healthy selection of specialty margaritas to choose from if that's what you're into. All I have to say is that the service here was great, the salsa is excellent, and the entree's that we tried were fantastic! Pedro's is now going to be on our 'Must-stop-&-eat' list whenever we are in the Wells, Ogunquit, Kennebunkport area. read more

Great atmosphere, great food, yummy drinks!! We waited 30 mins for a table of 4 on the deck on a beautiful Friday night! Chips guac and salsa were awesome. People make the difference! We settled into the bar on a rainy day and thoroughly enjoyed the banter with the staff. Super friendly! Go straight for the premium margaritas! They are primo! Came here based on a recommendation from family, the hostess wasn't very personable and told us the wait was 45 minutes but didn't welcome us to go get a drink or explain that we could sit at the bar while we waited, figured it out in our own... the wait ended up being only 25 minutes and after that had a lovely evening. Our bar tender/waitress was wonderful, great margaritas!! The food was delicious although rather spicy for our taste, he had tacos I had the steak burrito, but overall a fun little spot. read more

Absolutely excellent. Went to dinner with another couple when on vacation because we were tired of seafood and wanted a change. We normally live in Kansas City with MANY mexican food restaurants so I wasn't expecting greatness...I was wrong. This place was phenomenal and I wish it were closer to my house in KC so I could go 2-3 times a week. Hats off to the owner, the manager, and the chef. Thanks! read more
