Quite a nuisance and unpredictable appliance, indeed. Dennis and his late mother had uses Dick's TV and Appliance. He said it has been there like 30 plus years and had done a good job. So before our trip, Dennis and I killed ourselves and carried the monstrosity down the stairs and shipped it off to Dick's. 2 days later, they call to say it is ready. Come get it. $120 buckaroos. OK UPDATE: 2 days later and 1 day to vacation departure and the f-in TV has the same problem, this time it does not turn on at all. WTF? Before I began looking, I asked him what the prices for chains started at so I had an idea of the price point, he evaded the question and just asked what I was looking to spend. When I finally got the starting price point, he allowed me look at a few chains. As I looked, he said that the price of gold had just gone up and if I decided to leave without the chain, he was going to change the price as soon as I left the store. There was a ton of pressure to buy, he even joked around and said, "the door is locked" I'm not letting you leave, we both laughed. The sales pressure was a red flag but against my better judgement , I did end up purchasing a chain and bracelet, totaling $3,200. The chain I purchased was 14k gold, weighing 17.2 g. Another jeweler had a 14k, 8.7 g chain for $1800. My chain alone was $2800. So as it turns out, the joke was on me because just a few days later I found out that he over charged me by more than a thousand dollars. When I called him with my concern, he told me that it was a final sale, - even though he made it clear that he was going to increase the price on the chain as soon as I left. I purchased Monday, wanted to return 4 days later and was told it wasn't an option. Complaints filed with Yelp and BBB. Charge dispute has also been initiated.
