We move a lot, so Pediatrix is our third pediatric practice in the past 10 years. We have been pretty lucky since my kids hit elementary age that we pretty much see the pediatrician for well visits only. At first we liked, but didn't love this practice, but it is convenient that when it came time for my other child's first well visit we went back. In the meantime, Dr. Buck had joined the practice and she was a game changer for my girls. They were both immediately comfortable with her and she talked to them as the patient rather than me which allows them to understand that interaction. The front desk staff is not always the friendliest, but we'll keep going back to Dr. Buck as long as we are here. read more

First time mom here with no idea how to find a pediatrician we love and trust and who will also love and take care of our baby...fortunately we found Pediatrix from day 2 and have been so happy with our daughters care and the doctors, nurses, and staff here. We were skeptical at first, but when we met Dr. Mitra we knew we were in the right place. He is so gentle, kind, knowledgeable, assuring, and darling with our girl; I assume all of his other patients experience this as well. We feel confident that we are getting the best care and diagnostics possible for our little one and her precious body/health. The office itself is never over crowded and is comfortable and welcoming. It isn't fancy but I don't need fancy I need quality. The staff are competent and friendly, and we are always checked in and called back immediately. The only negative with Pediatrix is the call system in which you have to call a switchboard and hold for a long time before you talk to someone. Also, don't expect to get an appointment on a Monday unless you have scheduled it in advance. If you need a Dr. for your child I highly recommend Dr. Mitra and Pediatrix. These little ones deserve amazing care and I believe they do a good job of providing that here. read more

Dr. Arun is the pediatrician for my infant and so we go here. It is in our neighborhood and just 2 miles far from our home and hence our preferred place. The staff is nice here and check-in is very quick during our all the visit. Dr. Arun is great in what he does and we are super happy with him. He is not the one who fears doing this or don't do that. We like how open he is to try the stuff on the baby and not to keep him bunded to something that parents usually tend to do. The office will always have take-away samples from all baby brands. The only complaint we have is that they don't have an online system to create accounts and keep updated with the appointments and the medical records/vaccination status. They definitely need to upgrade their system. Taking away one star just for this reason. However, I would still recommend this place to anyone looking for a good pediatrician. read more

These providers cared for my newborn at TMC. They have refused to bill my secondary insurance. I provided them with my insurance card and a coverage letter from my insurance and they still refused to bill stating that they "didn't have enough information" from me. We are new parents and had just delivered in less than a week, we came and must have looked lost and overwhelmed, they were very understanding and their office/clinic was so homey. We've been going to this office (and other on weekends) since we moved to Phoenix over a year ago. Here's what I love: - open 7 days a week - always gets my children in to be seen same day if needed - haven't met a single doctor I did not like there - probably the kindness front staff you've ever met (and we see them way too much) - in true emergency situations they do not hesitate to put you first and immediately. Example is my son broke out in hives at school and by the time I got to the office his throat was closing. They stayed on the phone with me the entire drive, rushed us in and got an EPI shot in him (while calling an ambulance). They saved his life. Can't get better than that. - they listen to what I'm concerned about, willing to try and work with me on solutions - I feel welcome and so do my kids in every respect - after hour calls get returned by your actual doctor on request read more

I recently took my 4 day old newborn to this place for the first appointment. It was despicable to say the least and under no circumstances would I ever return or even recommend them to anyone else. I have a few issues with them but the most alarming is with Dr. Subir K. Mitra. He spent a measly maybe 2 minutes just looking at my baby's ears and mouth before he was headed out the door. Being a first time mom I had a couple of questions but not once did he ask me if I had any questions or concerns that I wanted to go over. After he spent his two minutes looking at my baby by the time I asked him a question he was already half way out the door. You would think that if he realized I had a question he would have closed the door and answered it but instead he was halfway in the hallway already giving me the impression he was in a rush and had better things to do and answered my question in the most generic manner possible. I ended up taking my baby to a pediatrician who actually cares and found the new pediatrician caring, thorough, and helpful. She actually spent time asking questions about my baby and even my pregnancy before thoroughly checking my baby out and addressing my questions - quite the opposite of 2 minute man Mitra. My baby has a pretty intense tongue tie that could actually impact his speech if not fixed but Mitra never mentioned that. I guess I was supposed to rub a crystal ball to figure that out on my own since the useless doctor didn't. I was so disgusted with Mitra I ended up packing my belongings and quietly leaving after I could tell he didn't give a crap about my baby and as I walked past his office on my way out he was laid back in his office chair on his phone laughing with whoever was on the other end. It seems as though their priority is getting through as many patients as possible providing the most pathetic amount of care a parent would accept. Maybe they have a quota like a used car salesman. Even if they were free I would never step foot in this place again. As if that wasn't horrifying enough, to my surprise, a few days later I get a letter in the mail that says "As a result of the Doctor/Patient relationship, we feel we can no longer care for your child/children in our practice". My question is at exactly which point did anyone is this building provide "care" for my child? read more

First off, I have had a positive experience overall with Pediatrix. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. If your child isn't feeling well and you call in to see if you can get in for an appointment, they will leave your Dr. your message and they will determine if you should come in or not. Not in a bad way. An example, my son had a watery eye, little swollen and goopy and I was concerned. The dr. Said come in to play safe to see what it is. They do their best to call you back in a timely matter. The Dr. will get your message in between patients, which makes sense. Negative experience, I had, was when I was first trying to come here, I was seeing if they took my insurance. I left the billing department a voicemail, and they never returned my call within 48 hours. So I called back and said I left a voicemail no one called back. I can take my child elsewhere. They need to update the inside of their building, I feel like the colors of the walls and floors are dark! Feel like it should be more natural colors. But that has nothing to do on my experience. Phenomenal team!!! I'm a mom of 3 kiddos, all of whom are seen here and I'm always so impressed with the level of communication and concern they show for my babies. They will go above and beyond to make sure your child gets the best of care. They get us in for sick visits asap. If I call in with any Qs or concerns and Dr is busy, they are quick to return my call. My kids love going to see the Dr no matter who we see, I always leave happy. They helped my oldest get an IEP evaluation and made sure it was all covered by our state insurance. I highly recommend both office locations. First off I have to say this review is not based on the doctors at Pediatrix. Dr. Nemivant and Dr. Mitra are both great. We started taking my son as a newborn after Dr. Nemivant saw him in the hospital when he was born. At the time they were located on Pinnacle Peak but shortly moved to the Happy Valley location they are at now. The newborn care was phenomenal. I never had an issue getting in when my son was sick. But after he turned two that all changed. We never could see any of the doctors only the PA or NP, although nice when my child is sick I want to see a doctor. And when my child is sick I can't wait 3 days. In 3 days he will either be better or dead! And some days even seeing the nurse practitioner was questionable. I hated to change practices because both of the doctors we dealt with were great but didn't feel we had a choice. read more

We see Dr. Mitra and have for the last decade with all five of our children. On multiple occasions we have left knowing we were in the best hands possible. I know if Dr. Mitra isn't worried I shouldn't be either. He isn't quick to fix everything with medication but doesn't hold back when medication is necessary. I would leave ZERO stars if possible. My daughter was born last year and seen a single time by a pediatrician in the practice in the hospital. We then found our own pediatrician. I never received a single bill, phone call, text message or email but just received a statement saying I have been sent to collections. I called the office and asked why I never received any follow up. She said I had received a statement of which I had never received. Let's say I had received the one statement. I then asked why I had never received any other follow up like a phone call or email. She had no answer for me. I have never been sent to collections in my life and they sent me to collections after sending a single statement eight months ago of which I did not receive. I asked if I could pay the bill over the phone and she said no and I would have to deal with the collections company. I work in the medical field and am appalled at the lack of customer service and billing practices. If that is there way of handling bills- just sending straight to collections, then good luck. I would NEVER let anyone from this practice see my child ever again. read more

Absolute nightmare!! Check with your hospital and make sure that they do not use this group for their doctors. The care we received was good but dealing with their billing has been horrible. We have been fighting with them for over a year. They have lost our account on multiple occasions. They are impeccably rude and ignorant. This is one of the worst experiences ever on top of having a sick child. I have seen multiple other NICU parents in north Texas have the same experience with them. The office is hard to get a hold of. Dr. Kleiner has been good but a bit rushed! He's a smart guy. Only wish we got more time with him during our visits. He does seem like he's in a hurry. I often have to say quickly at the end, "But I have a quick question!" to catch him before jolting out the door. We only get 3 to 4 minutes of care and that can be frustrating. I know my baby is a newborn and doesn't require much of a visit, but he is a preemie with stridor and hardcore digestive issues and acid reflux that was very scary at the beginning (he choked 12x a day and even turbed purple once as we panicked to get it out of his airways). I find myself just diagnosing and treating his symptoms at home (switching formula as needed, etc) because its easier than getting an appointment or time with the doctor. Office staff very unprofessional and you'll have to stay on the line for a half an hour to schedule an appointment. I took there my daughter with strep throat, dr. Nemivamt gave her the same antibiotic she was using less than month ago. I guess, he didn't look at her history. We visited this place on Friday and by Monday, doctor said my daughter should be ok and ready to go to school. So all the weekend she had high fever and when on Monday I called him saying that she is still very sick, he said it takes time. He changed her antibiotic reluctantly. I asked for note for school, cause I couldn't send my kid to school all sick. The staff said that they will send it to my mail. Of course they didn't. The next day I showed up at the office asking for note, but they abruptly said that they won't give me a note, because my daughter should've seen the doctor. I said that I was asking for appointment but they said there is no necessity. So finally the girl at front desk told me that if the doctor said her to go to school on Monday, she should've gone to school on Monday, cause she can be around other kids. On my protest that she had temperature of 101 F she said that I need to listen to the doctor. read more

I've been taking my daughter here for awhile now. Never had any issues. I scheduled my daughters appointment at 4:50 we were running 5 minutes late. I called to let them Know at 4:45 and by the time it took them to transfer me to the facility I was already walking in at 4:54. They told me they were going to have to ask the doctor because he was in a room, but he had a meeting to get to which is what I was told on the phone. By the time the lady came back she said the doctor already left the building. If they knew the doctor had a "meeting" and that he was only planning on spending 5 minutes with my child then they should have called me to reschedule instead of wasting my time. I had to get off of work early, and I am an HR manager and do not have the leeway to keep leaving early. This situation really disappointed me. read more

This place is great. They have excellent service, clean waiting rooms (sick and healthy), and the Doctors the time to talk to you and don't rush you out. Dr. Kleiner is our pediatrician and he is very kind, insightful, and patient. I strongly recommend him. Pediatrix has a couple of locations in the North Valley. Tried this place for a day and it was awful!!! First of all I couldn't get a hold of anyone on there answering service when I tried calling about 20 times in the morning !!!! Been going here for past 16 months. Im so impressed with Dr Nemivant. What I love most is that there is no middle person trying to answer your question when you call - he calls me back and is patient when answering all my concerns. I respect and know drs have challenging jobs so I take in to consideration trying not to make a bunch of small talk and I am always on time for our appts (which if you ever wonder why drs are behind many times it is due to people being late for their appointments...) The most challenging thing is sometimes when I call it can take a while on hold trying to get an appointment because the receptionists are so busy. But overall we are happy with this office. I'm a first time mother. When my baby was born, Dr Argyros was rounding and we had two check-ups with him. He is friendly, personable, energetic and takes his time. I chose Pediatrix in order to see Dr Mitra, as he came highly recommend by a friend I trust but he cut me off when I was asking questions and he didn't address anything I wrote down to discuss with him on the intake form. He was rushing me and I had to ask everything quickly before he left the room, maybe it was an off day but for a first appointment I was not pleased. Also the tech who did the bilirubin was shaking her head at me because I didn't bring two items she asked me for. Im kind of bummed about her attitude because she handled my baby very well and seemed to care. Maybe she was shaking her head at something else I can't be sure but I felt like a failure or an idiot for not bringing the documents, but as I was lacking sleep and full of anxiety, my mind wasn't thinking about paperwork, it was focused on keeping my baby safe. When I made the appointment they made sure to emphasize I bring my insurance card but said nothing about anything else. As a health care worker myself, I believe compassion, helpfulness, care and empathy are part of the job and I don't want to have a relationship with a pediatrician where that isn't valued. I just transferred my kids to another office. It is very hard to even make an appointment. The automated system has a tendency to put you in a loop to where you can't get through to anyone. I've waited on hold for as long as 45 minutes before giving up and taking my child to urgent care instead. If you try to pay your copay in cash they don't have change. The doctors are nice but if it's impossible to make an appointment it's of no use to me. I would not recommend this pediatricians office to anyone. read more

I have been taking my son here for years and have had decent care regarding general practice. When it comes to Asthma the care was less than adequate so our child was taken to Phoenix Children's for treatment, a written protocol was provided and one of the physicians at Pediatrix disregarded the treatment that has worked for years. An incorrect drug was prescribed and when the doctor was questioned the child was discharged from the practice. A similar situation happened with the treatment of ADHD. This facility doesn't follow treatment protocol that works nor do they consider the requests of the parent. Medicine at this practice is reactionary and "cookbook" without regard for cause or preventative medicine. No doubt some of the physicians here are "practicing". read more

I've seen 4 different drs here for my son over the past 2 years and they've been great. My kids currently go to Pediatrix but I am trying to find something different. I think what is killing me is they are trying to automate appointments. I call and they want me to leave all my information on an answering machine so they can call me back to make an appt. I have 3 kids - most likely I am not going to be able to answer my phone which is why I call when it is convenient. When I do hold to make an appt (which is an option), I hang up after about 45 mins of being on hold. This has happened at least the past 3 times and I cannot deal with it anymore. I also filled out the online appt request an no one called me back. Now to the doctors: The doctors I have seen are nice and good with the kids but when it comes to medical, I am not comfortable. My first daughter passed away so I am really protective of my kids. One time I thought my son had acid reflux (my daughter was really bad) - I did not get any follow up questions, just a prescription. Another time my son had an allergic reaction to a prescription. I went to the doctor (a different dr than above), he took him off his prescription and gave him something else. I was told within hours it would clear. It did not, so I called (at this point it was after hours). The doctor called me back and basically said not to worry unless it got worse. Then it got worse. I called back and the same doctor on call called me back and basically said not to worry about it. Well why did you say to call if it got worse? My biggest complaint is my doctor not calling me the next day to follow up on his condition. I moved here a year ago. My last pediatrician office was amazing (as I realize now). She would call me the following evening/day after I would bring one of my kids in just to follow up; even if it was just an ear infection. Even if I did not answer my phone she would leave a message and I would not have to call her back unless I felt the need. It was just nice to know she actually cared. I do not expect that level, but something as serious as an allergic reaction, someone should care enough to follow up. I do not know of many pediatrician offices in northern phoenix, but I will drive out of my way to get the customer care the bigger office cannot offer. Someone answering the phone to make an appt would be nice too! read more

Not a fan! They were the on call pediatrician (mitra) after I gave birth. Already in a stressful environment with none of the doctors doing as we asked. He came in while I was feeding her, left and came back a few minutes later pretty much demanding that he had to check her, and he said nothing else. I went back to pediatrix thinking maybe it was a tough night, giving how rude. Which I was right he was nicer there but i always felt rushed when i had questions, to which were answered "well, every baby is different" not helpful in ANY situation, until I asked about starting foods then it was "6 months" going back in for her 6 month checkup they were surprised by the few things she has eaten. I'm done being rushed and not getting any help with any concerns! Definitely not a welcoming environment. Nor is the main office people over the phone! read more

I absolutely love Dr Mitra! I've also seen Dr Herchold and a PA and both were good experiences. You do not have to wait a long time to be seen by the nurse or doctor. They are good/responsive about referral requests. So....their phone system is a true nightmare. It's awful, confusing, you will wait on hold forever if it doesn't just hang up on you or keep kicking you back to the main menu. I deal with it because I really like Dr Mitra. He is that great mix of respectful to your own experience and ideas and very knowledgeable and confident in his ability to diagnose and practice medicine. Takes a good amount of time to talk to you and doesn't seem like he's in a hurry to get out. read more

I recently went to this Pediatrix location and was very impressed. When I called the appointment line, I only waited about 2 minutes, and was given a next-day appt. We were seen ON TIME (shocker!) and saw Dr. Mitra. He was wonderful! Very courteous, very thorough, and took his time with us (that's rare!). I'm used to waiting several days for my kids to see a doctor, only to wait an hour+ in the waiting room, so this place is a step in the right direction! We will definitely be going back! read more

I have taken my 3 children to Pediatrix (WW office as well as other Pediatrix offices) for almost 19 years! Most of the time I have good service. However, I recently called to make an appointment for my son due to a stye in his eye (it is sore and swollen). He is going to Army Basic Training in less than 2 weeks and this eye problem suddenly popped up. He was hoping to get it treated before he leaves. Although he is 18 years old, he has not transitioned to a primary care Dr. yet because he has not had any recent health issues. Silly me...I thought Pediatrix would be willing to help him out under the circumstances, but they refused to see him. So much for loyalty and customer service. Due to a recent change in health insurance, one that landed us in the Banner Health system, I found myself looking for a new pediatrician for our twins. I researched the doctors in our area and thought I found one at Pediatrix that would meet our standards and one that would replace the excellent care that our previous pediatrician provided. Well I was wrong. I should have paid attention to the posted reviews. It's nearly impossible to get through the phone system, and even after having left a message in their system, I've yet to receive a call back on blood work that was taken on January 30th - today is February 10th. No call from Dr. Mitra or a return call for the office (even though results were supposed to be returned within a day...according to the paperwork). Needless to say, I will be back at it again. Looking for an office, and even better yet, a doctor that is responsive to patients. So disappointed and yet hopeful we can replace the care and attentiveness we've received in the past. What happened to the basic fundamentals of care?? We pay crazy amounts to just to have insurance, and this is what we get. You the patient......pay, follow up, do due dillance, advocate, etc etc etc. Welcome to the new American way of life read more

The doctors are great but trying to make an appointment is a joke. I've been taking my son there since 2010 and the wait time has only gotten worse. You usually have to wait on hold for 20 to 30 minutes to make an appointment. The receptionist are all very rude and unapologetic for such a long wait time.
