My 2 month old grandson has been a patient of Dr. Bennett since he was born. I went to his 2 month well baby check today with my daughter. As a retired Registered Nurse, I was very impressed with this Pediatrician Group. The wait time was minimal. Celia, the Nurse or Medical Assistant was awesome- very knowledgeable and kind. The office is decorated very cute. Dr. Bennett was thorough and gave my daughter time to ask questions. Dr. Bennett actually started Estrella Pediatric Group in 2005, and his experience shows. I really liked his style of communication and he was very gentle with my grandson's physical exam. Celia gave my grandson's first set of immunizations and did an amazing job. Been bringing my kids here for the past 7 years. Every interaction with Caroline Finley has been EXCELLENT, every visit with her she makes sure she finds the root to any problems. She deserves a 10/10. I've been with Carolyn, and she has literally made me feel like crap afterwards. She is rude, her facial expressions and comments are unacceptable . She doesn't even thoroughly check the children! We're talking about children's learning and her response was "it doesn't make it any better with all the illegals coming in" I will NEVER schedule any of my kids with her again. She needs to work with chickens, not even humans!!!! read more

I was very disappointed with the care my 7 month old son received from Dr. Caroline and one of the nurses. Full disclosure, I choose not to vaccinate my children, as has become more of a controversial issue in recent years. I brought my son in because he had a low grade fever (99.5) and wasn't latching as deep as usual (he is breastfed), so being a precautious mother, I brought him in to make sure he didn't have oral thrush. Otherwise, I figured his symptoms would be from teething. And to be clear, the staff was very nice on the surface. Dr. Caroline came in to check my son - everything was great. Lungs clear, heart sounded good, ears looked good. He was healthy. Dr. Caroline then attempted to fear monger by saying she has been seeing a lot of sick unvaccinated kids and wanted to perform a throat swab to rule out pneumococcal and other respiratory infections (keep in my mind she is the one who checked him and even said his lungs sounded fine, he was not congested and his ears were clear, just a low grade fever). To comply, I agreed to the throat swab which would give results in 24 hrs. This is when things turned very unprofessional. The nurse came in and performed the throat swab as i held my son. This nurse swabbed my sons mouth for about 30 seconds as he was screaming crying (yes i know a baby will cry because the discomfort but my son cried for 5 minutes and was hard to calm him down...considering they sent us to PCH ER and he got a catheter put in and only cried for a couple secs from the discomfort - how we ended up at the ER explained below). While my son is screaming crying in my arms the nurse notices his temperature starts to go up (of course it is HE IS SCREAMING CRYING...i could feel his head warming up in my arms). She takes his temperature using the thermometer gun (as a medical professional you should know these common sense things such as raising temp when crying and that a rectal thermometer would give an actual accurate reading of his temp rather than using the thermometer gun on a screaming crying baby). Then starts saying to me "See he's at 101.6" as if I was an idiot and didn't realize my son was sick (which he was not). Dr. Caroline comes back in freaking out telling us we need to go directly to PCH ER and start sending them notes. Taking the advice of the people who should be "experts" and be able to stay calm in situations (which this situation didn't even call for the urgency they tried instilling on us), I took my son to PCH ER where we were essentially laughed at by the ER DR (who was very kind, knowledgeable and was able to have a conversation with me regarding vaccines and understood that I am a mom just trying to do the best for my kids) and told me that she was staring at a healthy baby. She did not understand why the DR would send me there if my son showed no signs of respiratory infection. She felt bad because she knows we are going to be billed $700+ for the ER when my son was perfectly healthy. Because the DR sent us there for possibly "respiratory infection" they ran some tests which yielded results in an hour and he came back negative for everything. It's a sad moment when the DR comes in and says "unfortunately but fortunately your son is not sick". The unfortunate part being the fact that we are there for no reason at the advice of Dr. Caroline. They did a catheter to rule out a UTI (since we were there, they just ran a couple tests to make sure he really was good). The UTI test came back negative. He was just a teething baby. Then to add insult to injury, Dr. Caroline's office called me a couple days later to let me know that the test they ran at their office for respiratory infections came back positive for RSV and asked how his cough was. I honestly just laughed because I never brought him in for a cough or congestion and he was healthy so even if he did "have" RSV, his body was fighting it off pretty well as a healthy immune system should. Moral of the story, don't let people who claim to be "experts" and who got the higher "education" try to fear monger you. I worked in law for a couple years, I know how "experts" work. read more

My son is 2 months old, and I love Estrella Pediatrics and Dr. Bennett so far! The office is very clean, the staff is friendly and everyone is super knowledgeable. I read several reviews for pediatricians around the West Valley, and I'm happy I chose this practice! One less than optimal aspect that I feel is worth mentioning is that for two of my three appointments, we had to wait in the waiting room for over an hour but it doesn't detract from my 5 star review or my opinion of their office. They do have a "sick side" for sick children, so maybe they take unexpected appointments/walk in's, which may delay other appointments. I had an appointment today, and they took us right in, and we were in and out in one hour!! Either way, I recommend them!! read more

I give this pediatrician 2 stars because everything started off great with Caroline & then they put us with Bennett one day and it all went downhill from there. Wonder where he got his degree from? Idiot university or what?! He missed my son's ear infection TWICE! Didn't know my son had croup by his cough. He just kept prescribing a reflux medication when in fact my son doesn't have reflux & then to top it off when I got to the pharmacy they told me they haven't received that drug in over 2 years! What a joke The reason I found out my son had an ear infection & croup was when I took him to Phoenix children's hospital and they were incredible! They helped me get my son back to healthy very quickly & then gave him a steroid to help with the croup & solved ear infection. Was better 3 days later after being sick for a month since Bennett is a fricken idiot! Would never trust him in the care of my child. All he seems to care about is stretching out his shirt because he can't breathe wearing clothes that don't even fit him. Dont recommend this place at all, Bennett just wants to get you in and out and not listen to the issues on hand. Now going to Phoenix children's pediatrics and they're amazing! I get unlimited time with the doctor for the visits and he cares and listens and asks me questions as well to get an answer. And so far everything has been correct with the new pediatrician which makes me feel so much relief! Also the front office calls your phone non stop everyday at Estrella pediatrics! read more

I've been taking my kids to Estrella Pediatrics for more than a decade. 2 times we've dealt with difficult providers. The most recent was Tina Weng refusing to talk to me on the phone about an issue with an order. Instead she talked through the nurse which the nurse had to continue to mute and unmute the phone. So I finally just asked can I speak to (Tina) her and resolve the issue could have taken two minutes instead she tells the nurse to tell me she's on her last patient and is very busy. If I needed to talk to her I could schedule an appointment. Not a brand new office. Little dated now but that's not really all that important to me. And not fond of the extra charges they try to sell now. Like hearing/vision or ear piercing? When did hearing and vision become a separate charge? You can decline. Which I did cause I take my kids to an actual eye doctor for eye exams at lower cost. Beside that great staff. To the point for my kids and they know all about pediatrics. Also they do care. They have gotten my youngest in quick when he was wheezing. Which was so nice of them when it's a busy winter season. Got his breathing treatment and sent him home with steroids. To me that's what counts in a good office. Being there when we really needed them. read more

Yelp should allow reviews to receive zero stars. Giving this practice one star based on my experience is way too generous. I was discriminated against. My freedom of choice was violated. The children in which were receiving service should never experience and hear what the physician-Dr Greenberg said to me in front of them. It was sickening to say the very least. He referenced I was approached aggressively. He NEVER ASKED about the children's concerns. I was immediately approached with personal opinions and political opinions about his dislike for TRUMP in the doctors office. He explained to me that although, parents/guardians take their children for health checks, if they did not engage in certain practices, "parents should never be able to forgive themselves if their child dies." He also stated, due to his personal opinion " parents should be charged with neglect" if certain certain practices were not engaged in. " even though the children are healthy and are greatly cared for. I asked the office to call the police. They did not. The situation, if I had not remained level-headed could of easily escalated. I asked for a director during his mental episode and nobody came to my assistance. I did not want to reach for my phone to call police. I feared being attacked. He was so aggressive. Yelled in my face, paced back and forth. All while continuing to force his personal opinion on me. I was given the option to go to the 5th floor where Dr. A. was brave enough to finish the exams during an intense moment. This office should not be able treat patients under these conditions. People, regardless of religious or cultural background should feel comfortable taking children for wellness checks. This situation calls for the removal of Dr. Greenberg. He is indeed a trigger of anxiety. An example of, "child abuse" should be used to prove a point to any patient. I asked him to refrain from using such terrible examples and he continued. Causing trauma to my daughter. He continued by attempting to use another example of the "nurse burning her child". I immediately asked to leave. I did not want to engage in this conversation. I have worked hard to ensure children in my care are healthy and safe. I was so afraid. I could not think. The manager asked if I were ok. I told her no, because I am not. So here I am at 3:10 in the morning checking to make sure that my daughter, "did not die tomorrow". I am writing this review because I am demanding that office not only treat me with dignity and respect. But all people with kindness, dignity and respect. The wait times are getting ridiculous. Checked in at 8:50a for a 9:00a appointment. Lobby is empty, we were the only ones there. 9:32a the provider walked in, "Sorry to keep you waiting." I'm a provider myself and understand appointments can get behind for various reasons such as a patient came in late or a patient needed a little more time. 10-15 minutes understandable. But waiting 32-40 minutes (not including the fact that I checked in 10 minutes early), with no one coming in apologizing for the wait, is unacceptable. One would argue they triage patients e.g. sick visits vs. wellness visits. However, on 5/3 I was able to get a 9a sick child appointment for my 18 month old daughter. Lobby was empty, was taken to a room quickly just to wait around 30 minutes for the provider to walk in. Then had to wait another 15-20 minutes, with my daughter who is crying at this point, to get the prescription and get checked out from the MA's. If a patient was 30 minutes late the appointment would be cancelled and probably charged a late cancellation/no show fee. The provider comes in late no consequence other than "Sorry to keep you waiting." Please be mindful and respect your patients' time just as we respect your time as a provider. read more

When we were getting close to our due date and the panic to find a pediatrician set in, I was lucky to come across Estrella Pediatrics and especially Dr. Bennett. His bedside manner from the very beginning was very nurturing and has a really patient demeanor. One added bonus to this office is the split waiting room- half for the sick children and half for the children who are there for well-child visits. I've been on both sides of that wall and it makes me feel a lot better that my little guy isn't getting sneezed on when he's not sick and not contaminating some other poor kid when he is. read more

I have a 13yr old daughter and we've been coming here since she was 2days old. I now have a set of twins 2.5yr olds and now a newborn in 2019. I have moved to Mesa but still continue to drive across town for this dr office. There absolutely amazing. Dr Michelina has been a blessing. She really cares and when I had no hope or answers((my daughter had severe case of bronchitis))and couple hospital visits - Dr Michelina went beyond and above, dug deeper and my daughter was better within a week. My newborn had severe case of yellow jaundice, Dr Michelina once again called and checked up on my newborn and helped thru every step until her levels came down. This dr office has great staff and it's hard to find good drs these days. These medical staff really care and I wouldn't go anywhere else!!!! read more

They never rush through your visit and they take the time to answer any questions at the end. Awesome doctors and service, my children have been going to their office for years. Today I was advised I have to r/s my 4 children's WCC appointments because I have a chronic dry cough from allergies that unfortunately I've had for 10+ years. Then I was told my children can still come in but we have to be seen on the sick floor. I'm sorry but this is totally unfair. As a mother of 5 and 3 of those with medical complex conditions it hurts me to know that my children will have to knowingly be exposed to other sick children because of my cough. I understand the precautions of the covid-19 but as a single mother this is ridiculous, that my children are being punished for something I have no control over. We all know it's allergy season. Lets be realistic. I too work in the health field and would never expose anyone if I was ill. read more

Dr. Tinlin seems to have a genuine concern for our children's well-being and is very attentive and approachable. The nursing and front desk staff are great, very friendly and professional. I am not a patient of Estrella Pediatrics but I have had the opportunity to spend time with Dr. Bennett, Dr. Tinlin, Caroline PA and Mary NP as a student provider. All of these providers are fantastic. They are knowledgeable, courteous and go the extra distance for their patients. The office is run very efficiently. The office staff are competent and friendly. I would happily take my children to Dr. Bennett, Dr. Tinlin, Caroline or Mary without question. I was very impressed with all of them during my 125-hour rotation. read more

I've taken my son here since he was born, and I absolutely love dr Bennett he's very calm and knows how to calm my baby down as another reviewer said, " he's very nurturing". The front office staff is great, most of the time in dr offices the front staff play a major role, and are rude, but no not here these women are very polite. I've also seen the nurse practitioner, I forgot her name but she was also great, however of course, I prefer dr Bennett. The only thing I don't like is that when you call if something is concerning you they take a long time to call back. A bad experience that I did have once though was when my son was less than a month old, I called after hours and the doctor that was on call was extremely rude. Dr. Cwik, the dr on call wouldn't answer my questions and when he would answer I could barely hear him, so when I when I asked him if he could please speak up, he yelled at me telling me that his wife and children were sleeping and he didn't want to wake them up. I understand,I'm sure he as well was tired but that's no explanation for speaking to me the way he did he's a doctor and he should've acted like a professional. I moved to the area about a year ago and I was so worried about a new pediatrician for our daughter. Dr. Grassl has been wonderful. She is very attentive and makes my daughter feel comfortable. I was told today by office staff that we can no longer bring my son to this office as his PCP because we take him to do his well-child exams and vaccinations at a different pediatrician. I tried to explain that for my son's first year, I was employed and used a pediatrician that we came to LOVE, but now I stay home and my husband's insurance doesn't cover the beloved pediatrician, so we pay out of our own pocket to go to him for routine exams, but go to Estrella Pediatrics if he is ill because they take my husband's super ghetto insurance. She said we can't come anymore at all if we don't come for everything. Unbelievable. They probably have patients who don't even bring their children at all for check ups or vaccines, and I'm being turned away because, and I quote, "That doesn't make sense to me." Is that a real reason to decline a patient? She didn't like that I explained that their office is dirty and grimy with fecal handprints over exam table walls and I only use them when I have to because we're not independentl wealthy where we can pay medical bills out of pocket if our child is sick. Please refrain from taking your children here this place is a joke. I brought my daughter here in December of 2015 because she sounded like she had Croup she sounded very horrible. They "examined" her and said she was fine her lungs were clear. Seeing her suffer to breathe was killing me so we took her to the ER where she was diagnosed with pneumonia and said we were lucky to have gotten her in when we did. We returned there yesterday because nobody else could get her in same day they said she had a "common virus" she "sounded great" it would pass on its own, Mind you she was very congested and you could here her wheezing, so again I took her to the ER where she was diagnosed with Bronchitis and said she needed to be put on an antibiotic and steroid immediately. Either the doctors here do not know what they are doing, they do not care, or are just too lazy to do the job they are required to do. I will never again step foot into this office. read more
