I love our pediatrician. Other reviews are correct for how quick they go through the visit BUT I've never been made to feel bad for my questions. Have your questions ready and they'll spend the time answering them. I've never heard complaining about how quick office visits are before. Most people complain about how long the wait is. I love that I can get in and out. They're clean and super friendly. They're honest about concerns and very informative. Not just yes or no answers. They explain why. The waiting room is very big so you're not cramped with sick kids and they even have a sick and well visit side. I do wish they had stickers for after to calm the kiddos after shots. They might but I've never gotten them. Their triage phone line is also amazing. They're quick to call you back after hours so you are comfortable and know when something is serious or normal. Great for first time Mom's. They also have an online portal for messages, billing and record notes you can refer back to. I wish the portal had check up reminders so I know when the next visit our immunization should be. And the message could be quicker in response but I just call the triage instead so not a big deal for that. All in all I'd recommend it. read more

Horrible experience. NEVER work with "dr" Stephanie altamura. The reason for the parenthesis is she did not conduct herself as a DO and is very rude and unprofessional. Wish I could give her zero stars or less! Had to come to this location after my longtime care provider in the surprise office left. She was always 10/10 amazing in every way and never treated us the way altamura did . My kiddos have been at DVP since my son was a newborn (he is going to be 9) and my daughter is turning 5. I have never encountered a provider as rude and unprofessional as Stephanie Altamura. Our appointment was scheduled for 3:30 PM, but we were left waiting in the exam room until 4:35 PM--over an hour past our time. During the wait We saw the MA for vitals and a student, but not the person we scheduled the appointment with. When Altamura finally arrived and I asked for an estimated time on the remainder of the appointment as my kids were antsy and tired of being there, she became immediately hostile. Instead of apologizing, she tried to blame the delay on the fact that her student was asking us questions and claimed my children were "acting up." It was absurd for her to blame a student interview that happened during the wait for her own tardiness. It seemed as if she used the student to buy herself more time before starting the actual visit. She was very argumentative and also tried to say that every doctors office we go to is like this and we will have to wait this amount of time. It was normal and she did nothing wrong and has been on time all day. The MA that roomed us apologized for our long extensive wait and noticed we had still not been helped. She's the first provider we have ever had this issue with since we have been patients with this facility. Keep in mind... I work in healthcare! And I am also a provider. I have never made a patient wait on me longer than 10-15 minutes and if I did, they received a long explanation and an apology. The situation escalated when the Office Manager Terri came in to mediate. While the manager was trying to apologize and explain that the office was overbooked, Altamura repeatedly interrupted us, talking over me, and sarcastically laughing the entire time I was trying to communicate with management. Most disturbingly, she then proceeded to handle my children with aggression. She grabbed them roughly to check their eyes and ears, snapping commands like "move" and "get down." My children were visibly shaken and scared by her erratic behavior. This was my final straw and I ended the appointment immediately. Terri followed me out and apologized for Altamura's unprofessional behavior and admitted she was in the wrong. As a medical provider myself, I know this behavior is unacceptable. I would never make patients wait over an hour, blame them for it, and then treat them with such hostility. I urge new patients to stay away from this provider. I will now take my kids where they are properly cared for and with providers who carry dignity and respect for their patients. Disgusting behavior . read more

Absolutely love every pediatrician my child has seen, and their main PCP. They're very attentive to their care and hear every concern I have. There's been a lot of stomach bugs and they've been helpful, recommending what to do so my child recovers well. Definitely recommend! And I have no complaints as of right now. Staff is nice, I get alerts right away for appointments or when my child needs to be seen the same day. I personally have been here since I was a kid, I love it. read more

From the girl up front, Daisy, the MA, then the doctor all knew what we had discussed up front. The doctor instructed me no to talk let the child tell her. Then she asked I had questions, I was able to speak. Asked about the cough and she said take Tylenol and, "as I mentioned twice already". Wow.. so unprofessional, even Maryvale area is better than these chismosas. Finding another pediatrician. Horrible customer service and no good management apparently. read more

If I could give this doctor office a zero, I would, Desert Valley Pediatrics located at 4137 108th ave in Phoenix is a JOKE. Dr. Joseph Bonanno is very INCOMPETENT! Will not LISTEN to his patients and gives fake diagnosis! My 10 month old ended up in the hospital for 5 days, due to this doctor not doing his job, if I would have listened to this doctor my child would probably be seriously injured or dead! read more

So I learned today my dr was dropped from This office as we lost our ins due to Covid and job loss. I had advised them every time they called that I was not able to bring her in for her vaccinations due to not having ins. I was told it was okay and once I got ins to call them and they would get her in. I called today to make an appt and was told they dropped her as a patient. I did not receive anything about this in letter. I asked for a supervisor call back get a girl named Ariana I believe she told me word for word of you don't like our policy you can take your child to another pediatrician. I was shocked and explained why I was not able to keep up with her vaccine. Again she said well this is our policy which I was advised as long as she was getting them they would keep her as a patient. I would not recommend this office or place. read more

Dr. Mishra always has a great attitude, and knows exactly what she is doing, and talking about. I wouldn't take my daughter to any other pediatric doctor or facility, as long as Dr. Mishra is available. I would recommend her to anyone who wants the best care for their newborn, toddler, and even children up to 18 years old. read more

I'm a first time mom and was panicking about my fussy baby, I called the office and they seen her within 2 hours. They are all awesome. I would recommend them to anyone. The office is okay but I have considered finding a different practice because they insisted I bring my newborn in multiple times for weight checks (which I paid a copay for each time) because she was not gaining the amount of weight they wanted her to. This was fine. The issue for me is that they were so concerned with her weight that I had to come in for quite a few extra appointments but when it was time for my daughters 2 month vaccine appointment my insurance was coming up as inactive for my daughter. I was sure it was a mistake and let them know it was a mistake that I would have to get it sorted out later that day. I was told that since the insurance is showing inactive, I would have to pay out of pocket that day and they could not bill me. I let them know I didn't have the money to pay out of pocket and that I just needed to find out what was going on with my daughters coverage. They told me that if I didn't pay the full amount before the visit then they would not see my daughter and I'd have to reschedule her first set of vaccinations until I could self pay or get the insurance reinstated. So of course I got the insurance situation sorted out then called back to reschedule her for almost 2 weeks later because that was their next open appointment. So in short, I had to delay my daughters first set of vaccinations because of an insurance issue, so since I was unable to pay a full amount up front, that I wasn't prepared for, my daughter was no longer the priority. Money of course was the priority and as an office supervisor of a medical office myself I get it, money will always be a priority but it should never take precedence over patient care. ESPECIALLY in a pediatric setting. Anyway, I gave 3 stars because this is the only issue I've ever had with the office and staff is always pleasant but this situation could have been handled much differently. I have not went to a different practice at this time but if another issue ever arises, I will definitely just take my children elsewhere. read more

My family (5 y.o. & 2 y.o) just moved here from Chicago and after some recommendations from parents at my daughter's school, we chose Desert Valley Pediatrics. Well, last night my daughter came to me crying about her throat hurting. I looked in there and immediately saw some white sores on the roof of her mouth, her tonsils, and the back of her cheeks. She was acting fine, so I decided to wait until this morning to get her seen by a doctor. My husband made an appointment and the ease of scheduling the appt was fine- we arrived 30 minutes early to fill out paperwork as instructed and that was all fine- the staff at the front desk were nice and polite and helpful. We didn't have to wait in the waiting room for very long- about 5 min or so. We got called back and one of the girls took her weight, temp, etc. That was the last pleasant part of our visit. The nurse practitioner came in (I can't remember her name) and looked in her ears and mouth and said that she saw the sores but it looked ok. Then she had me look in my daughters throat and asked if it looked worse than yesterday, which it did. She then looked at my daughter's ears and listened to her chest. She then told me that there is a virus going around and that's what my daughter has and said she could return to school. She didn't even swab for strep! And what nurse or doctor sends a child with open sores in their mouth back to school? One cough and my daughter will have infected everything! She then said if she was even worse in a couple of days to come back. Here's a thought- why don't you do a more thorough examination so my daughter doesn't have to come back!! White sores in the throat is strep 101- why a swab wasn't done just to be sure is beyond me. I was so pissed that I took my daughter to FastMed on Litchfield Rd. In Goodyear for a second opinion, and the first thing they did was swab her throat and guess what? She has strep throat! Shocking!! Thank god I did not take that incompetent nurses' advice or I would've exposed my daughter's Kindergarten class! read more

I really liked this place. Dr. Mishra was always so thorough and great with my boys. I loved that we never had to wait to long to be called back , which is such a plus when you have small kids who get impatient easily. I switched my kids to a different Dr's office because of issues with getting an appointment. I had taken my son to the ER for a swollen eye . I had to follow up with his primary in a couple days . So I called DVP to get a follow up appointment and they asked if my son was on antibiotics and I said yes and they said that the Dr would not see my son until he finished all the antibiotics which would have been 7 days. I told the lady I needed it for a couple days out and she would not make the appointment then preceded to tell me that she had no appointments available that day . Total bs, well I called another Dr's office and I was able to get a follow up appointment no problem !! Would not recommend this place to anyone now ! read more

I have been taking my kids to Desert Valley Pediatrics (DVP) since 2006. Through the ups and down of life I have found that DVP has been more then willing to go above and beyond for their patients and their families, and they do this with a smile. It is this positive attitude or motto that keeps me going back. One just knows that their family is in good hands with DVP. I knew Desert Valley Pediatrics was not just any other pediatricians office when in 2007 my daughter went from seemingly healthy to a very sick special needs baby. Throughout her live, illness, and eventually her death DVP became very involved in insuring we had the best possible care without limits on time. See time is very important when care for children with special needs. Whether it be by referral, phone checks, a quick weigh in (for correct med doses), fighting the insurance to insure our needs were met, or the block of time the provider gave to see that one patient was receiving the best possible care. DVP was eager and willing to give the time needed, and I am very thankful for that. On to the future as we continued to go to DVP my other children grew and continued receiving awesome care. Then our family hit another bump and I started feeling overwhelmed and helpless. Who would ever think that a pediatric doctors office would care so much about their patients and patients families that they would invest in having a social worker there on site. I was amazed that after she heard my situation she went full force to help find some type of assistance. The goal being set to no longer feel that sense of drowning, so could focus more on caring for my children. Thank you again DVP and all your employees for once again going above and beyond you continue to exceed my expectations!!! read more

1st I will say, we have been to Goodyear office in the past and weren't displeased, but they couldn't get us in this day. My son got what he needed. But the experience here overall was dissappointing- super unfriendly front desk staff, and the MA didn't bother to explain a single thing she was doing to my son (he's 3, and never been sick, he doesn't "know the drill"), she just started poking and prodding, making my son teary eyed and confused especially through a throat swab. My experience with the doc was short, he seemed uninterested, but again my son did get what he needed, so I gave 2 stars for that. There was NO compassion seen anywhere throughout this visit. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about DV Pediatrics. Every time I call to leave a message with the triage nurses, I get a call back within an hour. The referral coordinators are also great! And the people working at the front desk are always so sweet. I especially love this office because of Dr. Speikerman. He is such a caring, knowledgeable, and GOOD doctor. If it weren't for him, I'd still be waiting for an appointment with the developmental pediatrician and still uncertain of what is going on with my child. There's some doctors who study medicine, just for the benefits that come along with being a doctor, and there's other doctors who study medicine because they have a passion for helping people-and that is Dr. Speikerman. Thank you DV Pediatrics. You guys rock! read more

These doctors are really really good. Dr Spiekerman was the only one who finally figured my son's treatment for his cyclical fevers. He is incredibly knowledgeable in so many areas. And he is unbelievably charismatic and great with the kids. I am so amazed he is still practicing in this area of town. I am afraid we will lose him now that the Arcadia office opened. In the meantime I will continue to recommend him to everybody. The facility tends to be a tad dirty (bandaids on the front sidewalk) and the front office is a little bit unfriendly but the providers are amazing. read more

It took us a few years to find Dr Spiekerman, and we really like him. He's a great doctor, a nice person, and knows his stuff. I feel particularly comfortable with him treating my sons asthma as he's had so much experience with it. There are other doctors there I have seen and not liked, but Spiekerman is caring, funny, great with the kids, and incredibly knowledgeable. As a bonus, his nurses are always nice and have smile for me and my son, and most of the time, he is on time with his appointments. There have been a few times when he runs late, but he always explains why, which I appreciate. I wouldn't take my kid anywhere else. read more

I have been coming to Desert Valley Pediatrics the West Valley location since my daughter was born. The ring family has been A+ part of keeping my family healthy. It's also comforting to know that the same family doctor has been with us since my child's birth. One thing I would like to see is an alternative way of testing if a child is sick. Currently they test the mucus from the child's nose which could be uncomfortable at times. Granted I'm not a doctor but it seems like there may be a an alternative way possibly. The doctor's office is always clean and I also enjoyed the fact that they were intuitive enough to separate a sick and healthy side. I've never had any issues here and intend on continuing our Healthcare with dr. Ring. read more

Whatever you do please do not make an appointment with Robert Altamura. He is in and out in 2 minutes and cares not for your questions or concerns. Absolutely terrible pediatrician! We had a terrible blood draw situation and he would not even give us the courtesy of a direct phone call to try an find other solutions to our problem. I guess he doesn't have enough backbone so he has the nurses call for him, even with a specific request to talk directly to him to voice our concerns. read more

Incompetent staff. They tell you nothing is wrong with your child. They do no tests unless you press them to. Then you end up coming back after your childs condition has become worse. I can't say enough about the staff and care my son has received at DV Pediatrics. We have been going to Dr. Leathers since my son was born. We have had a complicated medical history with my son and Dr. Leathers has found a way to be both understanding and comforting, while honest. She is patient and takes as much time as we need with her to answer our questions and find out information for us. She has far surpassed any care I could have hoped for for my child. My son absolutely loves her and she has made going to the doctor such a wonderful experience. I also have to give praise to Kristal Fabian who serves as a family advocate for the practice. We have gone to Kristal over the years for several occasions, including random questions and navigating the insurance claims system. If she didn't know an answer, she would go out of her way to connect with us with the right people. Most recently, my son developed a gathering of blood vessels on his face that would burst and bleed profusely for a long period of time. After seeing Dr. Leathers, we decided it was time to reach out to a pediatric dermatologist. When I called the dermatologist in July, I was informed their earliest appointment would be October 31. I was terrified because my son was going to start preschool in a few weeks, and I didn't know how his growth would be handled at school if it started bleeding. I called Kristal and within an hour she had me connect with the exact same pediatric dermatologist office and after she had explained our situation, they were able to get us an appointment two days later. This could not have happened without Kristal taking the time to help us. Even though we have moved farther away from DV Pediatrics over the years, I will always continue to take my son to this practice. I know that they will always provide the best care for us, as well as go above and beyond to make sure we are all cared for! read more

I give it 1 Star bc it's a very clean, nice looking office. The service is HORRIBLE.... this is the 2nd time my kids go for their physical and I am completely unsatisfied. Physicals shouldn't take 20 mins for 2 KIDS!! In California my kids pediatrician use to take about 1 hour PER CHILD for their physicals, she use to take her time, check them ask them and me questions, explain everything she was doing to them and give us time to ask all the questions we needed to ask. At Desert Valley i was literally in n. Out in 30 mins for 2 physicals, I had a list of questions for the Dr. didn't even get to ask and it's so sad that I don't even know who my kids Dr is in California my kids were always happy and excited to go to the dr. Here they complain and don't want to go and I'm pretty sure they've never even asked for my kids medical records from California. Also, a little advice for the dr's please read your patients charts before ASSUMING, in California all immunization charts are English/Spanish on each side this Dr assumed my kids were from Mexico bc she was reading the Spanish side, she kept asking were in Mexico was my Dr office and I was so confused, until I told her my kids have never been to Mexico. After this last ridiculous 20 min visit for 2 physicals I'm calling my insurance and seeing if I can take them back Cali to their Dr. I don't mind driving 5 hours for them to see their Dr. I rather have happy, healthy children wanting to go to the Dr than angry children that are dreading going. At DV when I do ask a question Dr says on next visit we will check that or bring her/him back!! Wtf for so you can get paid again!! Omg most definitely will be taking them back to Cali and I'll use PCH urgent care for all other needs. If you like speedy service and don't ever have questions and don't mind coming back like 10 times for what can be resolved in 1 appt then this is your place. Also my daughter wears glasses and from some miracle she doesn't need them anymore according to DV. read more

Highly recommend! Service and attention at this practice is always top notch. I've been bringing my children and now my grandchildren for many years and during all this time there is just a consistency and follow through that I really appreciate and keeps us coming here and trusting our children to their care. I'm also ok with their policy, it's my responsibility to manage my appointments and allow someone else the time they deserve. read more

Not a good experience: Dr. Gosnell made us wait more than 30 min in the exam room. He asked the same questions and then contradicted my answers, regarding my daughters diagnosis that I'm very familiar with due to the fact that I suffer from the same condition. Stated the diagnosis was wrong and the person that diagnosed her was incorrect. He proceeded with the exam only to miss a huge ball of wax that I can clearly see with a flashlight. Phoenix office: The experience was better UNTILL the nurse practitioners exam. I don't understand why she would exam a females private area with no gloves and not washing her hands before and after. read more

Went to Dr Dr. Altumera last week for my daughter's Pink eye. He checked her heart beat and her eyes- confirmed pink eye and sent us on our way. Wasn't until later I realized he never checked her throat or ears. A few hours later she had a high fever and was tugging on her ears. I took her back In the following day to see another provider and turns out she also had a double ear infection and sinus infection. I think it was very unprofessional that he did not preform a thorough examination considering most toddlers who have bacterial pink eye also have a sinus or ear infection. It is not my job to know that but the doctors. At the end our our appointment I told him that I was on my way to work and was going across the street to frys to pick up my daughter's prescription. When I got there it was not called in. It took me 2 hours and 3 phone calls to finally get the prescription called in and when they did call it in he called it in to the wrong pharmacy. I am appalled at the lack or urgency and professionalism that this doctor and office allows. This whole process was a waste of time and resources of having to go back the following day, pay for another visit, get another prescription and most importantly by daughter did not have the correct treatment she needed for another 36 hours. In addition, they have a nurse triage line that rarely calls back when they say they will. When they do call back they just tell you to make an appointment and are not able to give any useful information over the phone. Save your child's health and time and look for a pediatric office that takes more time and interest in working with your children. read more

The dr. Serino is a good doctor. I liked him but their policy sucks. I made an appointment at 8:30 this morning and I made it for 1:45 this evening and something came up and I couldn't make it. My husband and I took our daughter for her wellness check. Check in and the exam with the nurse practitioner went well. After getting her shots and we proceeded to leave my daughter fainted in the lobby. She severely cut her head on the check-out counter and the reaction of the staff members was appalling. They stood and stared like spectators. We asked for someone to call a doctor, their response was not only frustrating but disappointing. After all, this is a doctor's office yet no one had the sense or reaction to help. After returning to the exam room the practitioner and assistants were compelled to let us in on what appears to be common knowledge to them; some preteen girls faint after getting shots. Yet no one cared to mention this beforehand so we could have waited a few additional mins in the exam room (just in case). The lack of professionalism and expertise in this situation has left us questioning if this is the right pediatrician office for us. read more
