I am not sure where to begin! My car broke down took it in for review and after 5 days was told it was the engine rods, needed to wait to see what warranty company had to say. What another 9 days, paid for a rental because they do not do loaners, 1st sent me to the wrong rental store, then found the right one, told us the charge per day is $35, rental company said it was $45. Called 5 x's!!!!! Left messages and no return call, even from the GM. Finally talked to service manager after staying on hold, told us to come pick up the car if we are so unhappy with the wait time!!! My jaw dropped. Then received a call, with an apology. Told us the car needed a diagnostics test, but our machine is broken and has been in order for 3 weeks. So we are now NO closer to an answer, waiting on the diagnostic test to come back. I am now on my 3rd week of NO CAR, NO ANSWERS!!!! I am at a complete loss of words. My husband had transmission problems. Turned it in and 24 hours later is ready!! Obviously different lot. I feel stuck at this point and not sure what to do. I am a business owner and I can assure anyone 100% I would NEVER have handled this situation the way it has been handled. I will add they have refunded me in rental fees I have already paid which is not cheap. Needless to say I am buying a new car immediately after return and most definitely NOT from Pearson's. It's a shame, I had a pretty good experience up until now, not sure if it's COVID or what but the combination of attitude, lack of sympathy, lack of communication and lack of respect has just simply not set well with my husband and I. Shame on them for not handling this in a more professional manner. COVID or not that is no excuse to treat people badly. Called on Friday because my car has not been starting, the guy on the phone was nice and let me know that if I got in on Friday he thought they would be able to work it in. I took it there instead of my usual dealership because they didn't have an appointment for over a week. I got my car towed there and when I arrive, they tell me it would not be able to get to it til Monday. It is now Tuesday and they are telling me they hope they can see it today. In the meantime, I have no car to get to work and appointments. If they would have told me they couldn't see it until next week, that's fine, I could have looked elsewhere but now that my car is there they are stringing me along. I have been passed along to several employees. It is absurd. read more

I have bought 2 cars, a set of tires, new brakes a battery and all my service here for the last 7 years. Last Friday the battery I bought during the summer died. It would not hold a charge. I called the service department. I was told they could not check the battery until Thursday, even though I told them I could not drive the car. They suggested I rent one. I sent them email explaining all this. They replied back that they were glad I wanted to buy a new car! Today, I had my inspection done. I ask to speak to a manager. I waited an hour. read more

I am disgusted with the service dept. They are disorganized and unprofessional. I have been trying to get my car repaired for over a month and for two weeks they failed to order the part after calling twice they finally emergency ordered it. We went in for our appt and it was the wrong part and had to order another part. This is completely unacceptable and very frustrating. We live 30 miles away and have to make arrangements each time to get the car dropped off wasting gas in two vehicles. I am calling corporate to. My family has bought nine Hyundai's in total now - they are great cars. However, This locations customer service and service department is hands down the worst I have ever had to deal with. My mom has had issues with them, my dad, and myself ongoing for years now. The last time I needed service I called the service department to have the phone be sent to an answering service every time. I called the customer service desk who said they would check on it and have someone call me. I sent in an online request for an appointment - despite all of this I never heard a word from them. So to summarize I literally couldn't call the service department due to something wrong on their end, the customer service desk could not connect me to them or get someone to call me back and they completely ignored my online request for an appointment. Awesome. This is just one of the many bad interactions we have had with them. Buy a Hyundai but make sure you have your own private mechanic and don't expect to rely on them for service. I had been to multiple dealerships before coming to Pearson Hyundai. I thought I was just going to get your typical salesman who just wanted to get me in and out in a hurry, but Kevin was phenomenal. He worked his tail off for me, getting me the exact car I wanted. When Kevin wasn't there I dealt with, Ron, the sales manager. I didn't expect to get everything that I did, at the price I was given. Ron went by far out of his way and made sure I was completely satisfied. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in the market for a car. read more

One star is simply too much. Completely incompetent from the service tech up. Add the complete lack of customer support and it completes the circle of really bad. Clerks that follow codes not techs. If the code doesn't make sense, oh well. Three trips on the same issue, obviously no test drive or investment in the solution, after $700 the problem still existed while leaving the dealership. My wife and I had talked to a salesman back in December about possibly buying a new Tucson and trading in her 2012 Tucson. At the time, we decided against it. Last week I specifically requested the same sales person (I won't name his name), so he could get the commission. I work on commission as well so I know how it is. I asked him to do a work up of the new Tucson and a sonata. He said he would and he never called or emailed me back. I called a week later, this time I did not request him because he did not respond back. I asked another salesman to do work up on both cars to see what the monthly payment would be. It's a week later and no call back from him. I am happy to say we drove to colonial heights and went to gateway Hyundai, where they created us immediately and took us on a test drive. An hour and a half later we are leaving with our new Tucson. We have been loyal Hyundai owners S we have owned several, but I will never buy a car from Pearson Hyundai ever again. They also lost our maintenance business. Not because the maintenance people did anything wrong because they have been great, but because we were treated like second class citizens by the sales people. Thank you gateway for help! read more

VERY DISAPPOINTED. I typically take my car for service at the other Richmond Hyundai location, but decided to give this location a try. I dropped my car off the night before for an oil change and tire rotation. Easy, right? Wrong! I showed up at 4pm the next day to get it and it was not ready. In fact, they hadn't even started it yet! Really? Then the girls up front and the service guy gave me a lecture about how I shouldn't have showed up until they called me (I guess I was wrong to assume that it was done because I DROPPED IT OFF 24 HOURS EARLY and surely it was done and they just forgot to call me). But my absolute favorite part of this sorry adventure was after I paid and the check out girl held up a few unlabeled key fobs and said WHICH KEY IS YOURS? Seriously??? Do they just put everyone's unlabeled keys in an untraceable pile?!? UNACCEPTABLE. read more

I went to Pearson Hyundai to test drive the Ionic. I was interested in the high miles per gallon. One look at it and I knew it was not for me. This would be my 6th vehicle purchased from them so I was pretty much at home here, which surprised me when I asked to test drive a used Genesis that my wife read about on the used car board at the door. I was told the car was not ready and that I could not even see it. I went home that night furious. I felt like a step-child. The next morning I returned to address this issue with a manager, but, instead, I asked another salesman, Delano Lipscombe, to show me the same car. He did. We test drove it and from that point it was like this car fit me like a glove. This salesman, Mr. Delano Lipscombe, made my experience easy and I felt great about the transaction of the car. I felt it was a good deal he offered me and I felt like he guided me on a good path for the future of this Genesis and myself. So. After a rough start, it ended up fantastic. Purchased a car today. Did not plan to buy new but they had sale on Elantra so I made an appointment online just to test drive. Didn't think I would be impressed with Hyundai or get a good deal. I stand corrected. Treated marvelous by Jason Tackett and other sales team members at Pearson. Got a FANTASTIC deal on an Elantra. Process was painless and never felt pressured in any way. In fact it was such a great experience, I don't even think I will mind bringing in my car for regular service. The movie tickets were a nice bonus. Also,Jason set up my phone with Bluetooth and it has been life changing. I have never in my life desired to leave a review like this for a car dealership. Thanks Pearson and Jason. read more

My car purchase experience at this dealership was terrible. They delivered a new car that after I drove for 5 minutes was infected with ants. They offered a replacement however it was not the same color. At this point I was ready to cancel the deal, However the insisted I had to sign the paperwork and would not cancel or return my trade in. The worst car buying experience in all my years of buying a car. I would never go back there ever. read more

If it weren't for Antoine in the service department, I'd give this place a one star review. First, no one greets you when you walk in which just sets the tone for the rest of your experience. Then, JR in the service department seemed totally disinterested in our whole interaction when I brought my car in to be serviced. Upon arriving, I asked approximately how long it would take to complete the tasks and JR said about an hour and a half, possibly less. Well, it took almost 2.5 hours which Antoine apologized for and gave me a discount on the service. And the whole 2.5 hours, none of the employees spoke, checked in, or anything despite walking by us several times. Plus as I was checking out, JR was watching what sounded like golf with the volume turned up high on the computer which was totally unprofessional with a customer standing there. The rest of the staff need to take some pointers from Antoine's customer service skills and pleasant personality. read more

Yeah, I actually bought my car here in 2/2012. I should have written a review by now, but simply have been trying to forget the whole experience. The sales guy was incredibly incompetent, playing sales games with us, not giving us a direct price, wasting our time, and so forth. It wasn't until I threatened to leave unless I spoke with a sales manager did I actually talk to somebody who knew what they were doing--finally got a straight price and less run-around. If I hadn't been so far from home, and already wasted a whole day there, I would have taken my money somewhere else. Would never, ever, go back there if my life depended on it. read more

My wife and I bought a car from Pearson Hyundai in the 4th quarter of 2017. We were told that the car would require its first oil change around 7500 miles; In Feb 2018 we received a call that our car was due for an oil change... Scheduled an appointment to drop off car and leave for a day. We arrived after work to drop off the car and was told we missed our appointment, we told the service rep that we did not need car for a day and left it with them. Returned the next day to pick up the car and my wife drove it a mile and noticed that the engine light was on...called and was told by service rep that the car was fine since the light was not blinking...just bring the car in and the would look at it later. I bring the car back and was told that I did not have appointment, leave the car with them and the would look at it when they have time. I asked if they had a car I could use since it was obviously an issue that they created.... I was told no, but I could leave the car with them again....informed them this was not an option this time, and got upset with service rep. At at that time he decided that they could look at the car. It took them 5 minutes to clear the error and was told that it was a loose wire that needed to be connected from the recall work they did. In short this is the worst service group And dealership I've ever felt with and will not be returning there for service or future purchase. read more

My review is directed specifically at the salesman, Mr. George H. Best III at Pearson Hyundai on Midlothian Take. Mr. Best maintained a professional, courteous, and friendly demeanor at all times. He did not have an aggressive sales pitch which can be a turn off. But instead, he was patient and very informed about the entire process all the while presenting several models to be test driven, and ultimately ending up with a 2017 Santa Fe. Hats off to Mr. Best!! This is the worst place to buy a car from ever. The only reason I bought a car from here was because I could not beat the price nowhere else . The salesperson Lindy he didn't really do anything I did all the work myself. The vehicle that I was looking at mats were stolen out of the car after it was detailed from the back. I kept calling leaving messages no one returned my phone call. I talked to Ron Flores he said he was going to get back with me I still haven't heard from him. No one in that whole dealership seems to know where the back seat mats are. I even sent the salesperson a picture of the mats that was posted on the web. The mats that I'm referring to are WeatherTech mats and they are not cheap at all. So long story short if you're going to buy a vehicle from this place make sure you take a picture inside and out because you never know once the car is detail something might come up missing. I would not recommend this dealership to my worst enemy. read more

I called to make an appointment to get specific work done on my car. Appointment was for 11:15. I dropped the car off at 11:00. I went back at 1600 to check and see if my car was ready, they hadn't started working on it. I was told that even with an appointment, that doesn't mean we will start working on it at that time. I also, had to order 2 parts which they stated would be in within 5-7 business days. Still waiting. read more

I bought a used vehicle and worked with Tex Haley. He seemed nice enough. I was on the fence, but Tex brought up the used car warranty. Since I live 150 miles away I asked if the car needed repairs covered by the warranty could I have it done near me. Tex responded via email that yes I could but there would be a $200 deductible if I did so. Upon leaving the dealership the Check Engine Light came on. In addition, the ABS Light, the Service AWD Light, the Frontal Collision Waring light, the Adaptive Cruise Control Light all came on and off a few times on my drive home from the dealership. After a few weeks of back and forth with Sales Manager James Mathews (good cop) and Service Manager Jason Vaughn (Bad Cop) they have decided to NOT cover the repair bill of $2,425 that needs to be paid to Ourisman Chrysler. This after I was told in a previous email by James Mathews "I will get with Jason personally on Monday and make sure the service bills are taken care of and to speak with the Service Mgr at Ourisman." They never called Ourisman. Jason Vaughn said the repairs cost too much and wanted to pick up the vehicle. He did not respond when I asked how long he would have the vehicle or what repairs was he going to do to the vehicle. I informed him that was not acceptable (since he did not respond to questions) and that I wanted them to honor the warranty (where I should have been able to get the vehicle repaired elsewhere). I even got Ourisman to reduce their price by about $500 (It was going to have totaled $2,925 before the reduction). I even asked how much of the repair that Pearson would be willing to pay, his answer was $412. I gave them an out, I would have been willing to settle for less than the total of $2.425, but I obviously was not going to settle for $412. In addition to all of this, I have never received the title to my vehicle, it has been 18 days now, and I asked both James and Jason about the title and they both ignored that inquiry. So, to sum up, Pearson sold a used vehicle with issues they were most likely aware of, and then they refused to honor the very promise that got me to buy the vehicle in first place that was made by their salesman in writing. read more

I called and expressed interest in a new car a few weeks ago and upon realizing I didn't want the most expensive car they had he gave me the "Uhhhh let me talk to my manager and I'll call you back in twenty minutes." NEVER CALLED ME BACK. After sending several emails and trying to call them back, no one ever got back in touch with me. Extremely unprofessional and I will gladly take my cash elsewhere. I gave Pearson Hyundai repair a great review in the past. My most recent experience has proven that they can't be trusted. First, i had an 8:15 appointment and I was told I would get a rental car for my 60,000 maintenance. When offered appointments I choose the early appointment because itoldhim that I had another appointment at 9am. When I got there at 8 am I was told that the rental car agency did not open until 9am and I would have to wait. When I went back to pick up my car at 3 pm, I got in my car and the light on the driver side front tire was on. That morning I had to put air in that same tire because the light was on. The maintenance included tir rotation any inspection. I questioned how the light could be on if they rotated the tire and inspected them. The answer I got was not satisfactory and eventually they took the car back in. 5 minutes later the car was ready. The tire had a nail in it and was plugged. When I asked again about the how the tires could be rotated if the same tire had an issue that morning and this time the explanation was that it took 30 minutes of driving for the light to go out. Made no sense since the light was out when I got in the car. Obviously, they lied and didn't rotate or inspect the tires. Now, I don't know if they lied about doing any of the other stated maintenance. Can't be trusted. read more

Never buying a car from this dealership ever again! they don't have work ethics, they would do anything even lie to get you to get your money. I bought a car there and it had a sticker on and they told me they can get it removed once I buy it, i did and guess what? When I came the next day, bc the same day the detail was closed, they said that they can't do it there bc they don't have the "tools", (a heat gun) to remove it, that I will have to do it somewhere else, well I told them that my sales man Mike Speace told me, and one wanted to help I even talked to the manager, he got my information written down and told me he will call back, and never did, after 3 months of trying to contact and talk to everyone there I decided to do in another place, which costed me almost $400 bc it was all over the car, when the man removed in front of me, under the sticker it was a huge scratch NO WONDER WHY NO ONE WANTED TO HELP. read more

Awful!!! We start of loving our Hyundai and our family has long royal to Pearson auto group. Then one day our car just stopped no warning oil light, nothing. The car was still under extended warranty sold to us by the dealership. We call the roadside number have the car towed to the deal. We call every day, nothing. One week and one day later finally we get Shawn on the phone and he said they are not covering it (no explanation) and it will cost 5000 out of pocket for the repairs. What? We wait a week or two talk to a lawyer he recommends we talk to the dealership before taken legal action as it can be long and costly. We go in talk to the financing manager and another boss, sales maybe. They were nice and helpful untell they weren't. When we left everyone promise to give me a call the next day but nada. I keep calling and leaving messages to no avail. The whole time we are bleeding money between rental cars car payment and insurance. read more
