My exam revealed cataracts, but my vision was correctable on the test equipment. When my new glasses arrived my vision with them was poor. They told me to try them for a week. I did. Then they told me my vision was impaired by my cataracts. They said to come back after I had the cataracts removed. I did. I had another exam and got a new prescription. I am waiting for the new glasses. I was charged $46.40. I am disappointed, because I the Pearle guarantee states that they will, "make it right". I think making it "right" would be no charge. It was the doctor's mistake. Maybe the guarantee should state, "...we will make it right for an additional charge". read more

After 20 years of loyally visiting this location and purchasing glasses or contacts every year, I am sad to report that I waited for over an hour for the appointment and then was dismissed by the front desk as that was a normal waiting time. One of the employees had her baby with her at work. One of the machines wasn't working. Sadly, it is time for us to look elsewhere for eye care. read more

This has to be one of the worst ran facilities I've ever been to. I took my daughter there last week and we waited for almost an hour and 15 minutes to be seen by Dr. Goldberg. Today I had my appointment and waited for over an hour before being seen by the doctor. When I voiced my frustrations with sitting there for over an hour and still not being seen, I was told that it was a busy time of year and that they couldn't control it. The Doctors give the best examination around They spend a lot of time with you and unlike many other ophthalmology offices, the Doctor actually does the vision check. Not a tech. I just called with a simple question and the receptionist was so rude to me because my cell service was spotty. Instead politely telling me I was breaking up she interrupted me to tell me in the most condescending voice that I need to call back. This is 2024 ma'am there is such a thing as a dead zone, we don't need to be shocked or extremely rude about it. Arriving to get my glasses repaired or replacement frames I was told I needed an appointment and would have to return (walk ins aren't allowed) though cancelations allowed me to come in several days later. Poor vision is no fun, and being told to fill out forms you can't read is frustrating. They could not provide a magnifying glass or cheater glasses to accomplish the task but I was able to convince staff and they obtained the info the forms would capture... ie health condition, and address and contact information. I was told I had to sign the form. When I questioned what the signature documented the young lady said I'm stating the answers I gave for health, contact info and contact were accurate. The office manager shouted you're signing your life away obviously trying to be funny. I asked the desk staff to read aloud the paragraph I was signing and she did. There was no mention of confirming health or contact data. It was a legal statement guaranteeing I would be responsible for all fees involved (period) a promissory agreement accepting responsibility nothing about I provided true and accurate info. When I was taken in to have an exam with Dr Jill she advised I had to wear a mask I asked why the obsolete covid protocol and she said we require it..... I can interact with 5 or 6 staff people in the lobby without a mask but she was special I stated "that is wrong". I complied, participated and after over $600 dollars they sent me a how was your visit survey and now are shocked at my response to my experience. Terrible experience, the manager is an elitist better than I, which is sad poor customer service. Then they sent me another notice of an appointment already performed for a few days in the future. Went to this location about 2 years ago. My prescription was much too strong for me and when I brought up the concern, they told me too bad. They then finally came back and said we can claim it on your "insurance policy" you bought for them. Wait, I have to expire my insurance policy to fix your f%$# up??? Ok... well whatever, at least its right. Now I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt and go back since the "Dr." that screwed up my first exam is no longer there. Yeah, pay attention, we have been out of our fake "pandemic" and any "mask mandates"(which are NOT laws) for over a year, you STILL require masks!?!?!? I was called in right away, didnt have to wait. The doctor was very professional and explained all the tests and results. Im very picky about my glasses and they were very patient with me. The staff helped me find frames that I loved by ordering the color I like. They even will let me try the ordered ones on to make sure I like them before committing to them. Stay away, stay very far away from Pearle Vision, Waterford, MI. They still have the store locked down like Fort Knox, even after airports, businesses restaurants and elsewhere have returned to business as usual. These folks are beyond mask militant. I was instructed, in advance of my appointment, that face masks are required. I arrived wearing a face mask and was told my mask wasn't good enough. They required that I switch to their paper diaper mask. The store manager and staff argued, fumed, fussed and insisted that paper masks offer scientifically valid protection from the dreaded coronavirus. They threatened to escort me out of the building until I relented to wear the worthless piece of paper. They will verbally force you into submission. I had the contact lens exam, got the prescription and left, depriving them of the sale of lenses and glasses. We must speak up about irrational practices and bullying like this. We must also stop patronizing businesses that have forgotten that customer service is how they keep their doors open. read more

I got a pair of glasses from them I ordered the best of the best got all the bells and whistle's my lens didn't fit well in my expensive frames I picked a month later the lens I had was starting the pop out the the frames so they told me that I should of never had these frames that they were the wrong frames for the my type of lens so they let me pick out the correct frames for my type of lens and it's been great months later I have issues with my lens seems as if there are layers pealing off and a spot on them so I took them back and I wanted to use my Inc to have them replaced and they told me that I used my replacement Insurance on the new frames I got even thow it was there mess up I'll never return. read more

I am very disappointed in this location, I have spent in the 2 or so years alittle over $2000. dollars on my own glasses, I bought a pair of Ray ban frames, the noise piece just broke off. I went into the store this morning to see if they could be repaired, the shorter older women said they couldn't and Chuckled a little and thing while you can by new, the other young lady said he just got new , then suggested I go to Ronnie Jewelry store they can maybe repair them. This was my first experience with Pearl Vision. Had an appointment for 12:30 PM. I didn't get in to see the Doctor until 01:15 PM. This establishment appeared to be a bit disorganized. The Doctor was thorough and spent time explaining everything he was doing. After the Doctor visit the staff on hand spent time going over all of my options and went above and beyond looking for ways to save money. Overall, not a bad experience. read more

When there was an issue with the benefits they accept, they rudely dismissed me and didn't even attempt to make a sale. They completely ignored me. I paid for my glasses in full, and was given change back only to show up to pick them up and be told that I owed $28 still (which I was sure I didn't) I emphasized to the owner that people make mistakes miscounts happen and he was adamant that nothing occurred wrong on their behalf,I work hard and have no desire to cheat anyone and know exactly what I paid. I also ordered transitional lenses only to show up and receive sunglasses, they re ordered my transitions but the whole experience reflects negligence to me, I spent over 1200$!and truly wish I would have supported another company, because after reaching out to "pearl vision customer service" they do nothing to help if the store is "independently owned" as a franchise which most of them are anyway, I'll be returning to America's best or a local optometrist in the future, I hope this helps to direct someone on a better path, best of wishes. read more

Dr. Goldberg is the WORST Optometrist I have EVER been to in the 35 years I have been wearing contacts and glasses. He downgraded my prescription after telling him I couldn't see anything during the exam, AND had called my previous eye Doctor to confirm my previous prescription (only to find out that I was not lying about my prescription). Unfortunately, I didn't know he downgraded my prescription until after he gave me a trial pair of contacts and ordered a years worth. I didn't realize I couldn't read to do computer work until I returned to my office. I called immediately, only to find out he downgraded my prescription, and no one in the office could do anything to help me until the manager was back in the office (the next day). The manager called me at the end of the next day, and said she was too busy to call earlier, that she could not help me then, but she would call me in 2 days (since she has Wednesday off). What!!!?? When I finally spoke with the manager on Thursday, she told me there wasn't anything they could do. I would have to get ANOTHER exam done, and would have to wait until my (wrong) contacts came in before I could order new ones with the right prescription. She also mentioned she is not sure why Dr. Goldberg still orders this particular brand of contacts because everyone complains about the brand and ends of returning them!!!! She told me she could not get me an appointment until the following Thursday!!!! At this point, that is almost 2 weeks since my first appointment. Meanwhile I can't see to work, or drive, and the contacts are hurting my eyes, and appear to be deteriorating, so now they are also fogging up, so I find a friend with a similar prescription and use his!!! Why, because they couldn't do ANYTHING to help me so I could see, and I am BLIND without contacts. On top of it, I was told my contacts would come in within 4 - 5 days....well, it's now been 7and they are still not in!! Remember, I can't order new one's until I return the old ones( that haven't come in yet!). Oh, and I asked if they could get me in a day early (today), because I can't see!! But of course they can't, and Dr. Goldberg (who apparently owns this Pearle Vision), can't stay late to fit me in. The only reason I gave it one star is because I had to in order to leave a review. I have never taken the time to leave a review before, but didn't want any of you to make the same mistake I did. Take this as a warning, DO NOT GO TO THIS PEARLE VISION!!! read more
