Where I work, they have a program for prescription safety glasses, and Oakland Vision is a participant in that program. When I picked out the glasses, they did a great job - they explained the benefit, brought out 2 trays of glasses to choose from, and were helpful in placing the order. Picking up the order, was not as great of an experience. They had my order ready, and they brought out the glasses. I always have to have glasses adjusted as my ears are not level. I asked them to do this, and they said my glasses were fine. I demonstrated they were crooked, and they still insisted they were straight. I was told "you are all set, thank you" and I left. Please note, there was no opportunity to check the vision or explain anything - no paperwork provided. I immediately drove to SVS Vision in Wixom, and they adjusted the glasses in about 45 seconds. All is well. I will be back next year for my safety glasses again if my prescription changes - I will just be prepared to immediately go to SVS Vision for an adjustment. I gave 1 star because I can't give 0 star rating. We had an appointment for our 7 year old son today. The female doctor was not accommodating at all and showing unprofessionalism. We are never going back to Oakland Vision for their lack of care and unprofessionalism. It used to so much better before the ownership change. After 4 months trying to get my daughter's glasses replaced I was told the place went out of business and to come pick another pair out to replace them for free. When we went they told us we couldn't since my daughter was due an examine. We do the examine and now tell us sorry we wont replace them and the cost with insurance is 364, won't even give us the frame for free like we were told. The manager or the person who said he was the manager is worthless. I've been going here for over 20 weeks years and this experience along with the rude manager is causing us to take all of our families business elsewhere. WORST PLACE EVER. THE WORKERS ARE CONDESCENDING & ARGUMENTATIVE. I called before arriving to my 10:30 appointment and told them I was running only 5 minutes late, they said fine come in AND MENTIONED NOTHING ABOUT A 15MIN LATE POKICY. THE WORST PART IS THAT I WASNT EVEN 10 MINUTES LATE. I walked in the building at exactly 10:37 and immediately Karisten tried to reschedule my appointment. I documented the times and everything. Paperwork only took 3mins because I filled out most of it online. The worst part was that Karisten pretended to ask the doctor if she could still see me and I witnessed the whole thing. This place is absolutely disgusting. If you enjoy having your day ruined, being talked down to, laughed at behind your back all for being 7 minutes late then this is the place to come to! read more

Had a really great experience here. The doctor was very thorough and took his time making sure he got my prescription just right. The prescription he gave me was much different than the one I got last year at a different eye doctor. When he showed me the comparison side by side of the one I had vs my new prescription I was blown away! Fair pricing and nice selection of frames. Dr Miller and the rest if the staff is great. Very helpful when selecting glasses. They try to be as accommodating as possible. They always offer contact solution and a discount coupon. They will replace a ripped contact, no questions asked. They are a bit pricey though. read more

I had a lovely experience at Oakland Vision today. The staff was polite and so good with my special needs child. They even came out to the car to make him more comfortable. This has to be the worst optometrist around. I've tried getting glasses made from them and they constantly screw up the order. Wrong frames, wrong prescriptions, it's become comical. Not to mention they're inability to communicate or keep appointments. I've walked out twice waiting to be seen after waiting more than an hour past my scheduled time with no explanation. My first visit to Oakland Vision went very well! Dr. Stein did a great job explaining the changes in my prescription. In addition, I've always had a difficult time with the puff of air and he didn't make me try the test, he just went ahead and did the alternative --a lot less stress! The staff who helped me pick out frames was extremely helpful and patient. Last summer I moved out of Michigan and among my many good byes, I paid a visit to see Dr. Stein for my annual eye exam. I'd been seeing him for about eight years. I always appreciated his patience with me, so the thought of finding a new optometrist was about as exciting as finding a new OB-GYN. This summer I travelled to Michigan to see friends and family. On the drive up, I ripped a contact lens. No big deal, a quick stop at Oakland Vision and I was given a free pair of trial contacts. I figured while I was in town I'd have my annual eye exam. Dr. Stein was patient and kind as always. My new contacts will need to be ordered and the staff graciously offered to put them in the mail for me. I expect to visit Michigan yearly, and with such a wonderful doctor and helpful staff, I see no reason not to include an eye exam as part of my travels. read more

An average place at best to get an eye exam. You should always take your prescription from the exam somewhere else to hit field however. All four times that we have tried to fill a prescription here and has taken them 4 times longer than promised to deliver the goods. The staff here is not friendly at all an act like they do not want to be bothered by you. read more

I have gone here for four years and I have NEVER waited less than 45 mins. I went in last week, my apt was at 4:00 and I was not even taken back until 5:30. That's normal for them. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Wesier from oakland vision, he is awesome!!! The whole staff is super friendly, nice, and helpful! Dr. Weiser did such a great job of fitting me with bifocal contacts that I didn't even notice it till he told me! This office has been around for a long time, and now I understand why. They truly care about you and making sure you are well taken care of. They have a fantastic policy that if you go there you will never have to pay (if you get contacts) for another bottle of solution again, have a diverse selection of brands and prescription strengths, which is important if you have a significant prescription, and a great policy that if you tear a contact they will replace it:) Its a hometown feel, with up to date equipment and a clean and comfortable office.
