Somerset Opthamology was good when Dr. Duvall was there. She left, the Dr I saw charged $300 per eyelash removal. I have ocular rosacea, this Dr said don't pluck them yourself, come in. So I did, $300 per eyelash later, no thank you!!! Total scam!!!! read more

The wait time is 2-3 hours on most days if your appointment isn't rescheduled. It is chaotic and disorganized. There are different technicians every time I visit. It just doesn't instill much confidence for a medical facility. read more

Disappointed with how they handle scheduling. I called and left a voicemail asking for a call back to schedule an appointment for a complete eye exam. No one called back. I went to their website and tried to schedule it that way and no email back, absolutely NO responses to my requests. I guess they aren't taking new patients. I wish they'd put that on their website so I won't waste my time! I can do elsewhere. Extremely disappointed to be left hanging like that. I was so very nervous to see the eye doctor. I have only one eye and my good eye was hurting for a few weeks. So I needed to see someone. I am so very grateful and so very happy that I was referred from my family Doctor. First of all Amanda at the front desk made me feel so very comfortable and helped me not to be afraid. Also another Amanda that was in the room prior to Dr. Olivia Marineau really made me feel comfortable and told me what the Doctor was going to do. And then came Dr. Marineau. She was so helpful and helped me not to be so afraid. After I put this off too long and they were able to help me and it turned out to be a Allergy in my eye which was very uncomfortable for weeks. Thank you so very much for what you do each and every day. My eye has always been so very important to me. In our family's opinion (as well as in the opinion of many, many others) Somerset Ophthalmology is absolutely the best place for eye care in Southeastern Michigan.We always ask for Dr. Di Lorenzo, but Dr. Lim gets high marks as well. Outstanding service, friendly staff and great physicians. COVID has impacted many area practices, but we always feel safe and well-taken care of at Somerset. I am a new patient. This practice came highly recommended and I have some serious issues with one eye damaged in my teens. I'm not messing around when it comes to my vision and want the best doctors possible. I did not experience any customer service issues on my visit but clearly this particular office is busy/in high demand because of the exceptional doctors working there. They were super cautious with the pandemic precautions. There is a lot of up close contact with exams and shared equipment for testing. They were cleaning everything before and after I went in each area. I highly recommend this practice. read more

An hour plus wait time in the waiting area. Dr. Lim seems knowledgeable but for the 10 minutes you are with her you need to etch out 2+ hours of your day to sit around the office. Staff is cranky from all the questions about the wait time. Not worth the wait or aggravation. Also Horrible experience with the store aspect of the office. Not friendly. Was assigned Dr. Lim because of an ER visit, she is nice, personable and seems knowledgeable... but it took almost two hours of waiting to see her for 5 minutes. Arrived at 3:05 for a 3:15 follow up appointment, they finally brought me back at 4:00. Then after a 5 min assessment they brought me back to a second waiting room for another 30 minute wait before finally seeing the doctor. read more

Dr. DiLorenzo is an outstanding ophthalmologist. She gave me a thorough exam and corrected my vision with the right prescription unlike what I received from House of Optical. I am so happy with Dr. DiLorenzo that I may have her do laser surgery next year. The only dissatisfaction I have is the wait time. It took 2.5 hours for the appointment. read more

2 of the best ophthalmologists in Michigan (or probably anywhere). They genuinely care about each and every patient. They are patient, kind, and some of the most intelligent people you'll ever meet. Their new optometrist Dr. Mayne is on par with them as well- she's great at teaching and you can tell she really loves what she does. I only trust Jamie their optician to make my glasses- they get made perfectly every single time. Sure sometimes you have a wait- but I see a good amount of doctors and I can tell you that if here isn't a wait to see the doctor- it's likely you aren't at a good doctor. I know Dr. Lim has squeezed me in when I've had a serious problem instead of referring me to somewhere I don't know and has spent extra time with me when I've needed it. Same with Dr. Di Lorenzo. They go above and beyond for every patient. read more

I had been going here for years, but the service has become progressively more terrible. The doctors are good, but the last time I was there I waited for over three hours to see Dr. DiLorenzo. THREE HOURS. half of my workday, gone. I got barely an apology from her. It bothered me more that there were elderly patients also waiting just as long as I had. The doctors here are great. While I understand the other reviews, given there can be long wait times, I have never come across doctors that care more about patient outcome. I've had problems with severe dry eyes, and they were always willing to make time for my dozens of questions; perhaps this is why there is a longer wait time here - because they take their time with each patient. I'd give it 5 stars, but I do have to wait a little longer than ideal on some days. read more

I had an emergency and Dr. Lim went out of her way to help me. Wait time was minimal. She was knowledgeable, professional, and understanding. She removed a deeply embedded piece of rust from my eye and I was never concerned during the procedure - her skills are superior. Here is why I have issues with this office: 1- I am pregnant. Pupil dilation is contraindicated during pregnancy, and they insisted I have my pupils dilated when I called to make an appointment. Whether or not my gut is correct in believing this is a "money grab" situation, I am unhappy my health was not put first. 2- The only reason I called the office is because my endocrinologist scheduled a simple visual field test as a safeguard to ensure a tumor I have had not grown during pregnancy. (The alternative is an MRI, which is not recommended for pregnant women.) It has been LESS than a year since my last eye exam, and the office is insisting I receive a full exam when there is nothing wrong with my vision. My endocrinologist is simply trying to double-check there is no tumor growth. 3- After convincing them having my pupils dilated while pregnant is a bad idea, I was then told that I would need two appointments: 1) to meet with the doctor, and 2) to have a visual field test. If there is nothing wrong with my vision and a visual field test is ordered for a preventative reason, and a specific script from my referring doctor is provided to the eye doctor beforehand for reference, two separate appointments is completely unnecessary- especially when each involves a 60 minute wait in the waiting room!! 4- For my last appointment with this office, I had to wait in the waiting room for 60 minutes before even being assigned a room! 5- The receptionist Diane laughed at me when on the phone on the afternoon of 11/20. I found this rude. 6- I was told on 11/19 that on the morning of 11/20, the office manager would call me back the next morning. The entire next day, I did not receive any phone call from the office manager nor anyone else at the office. I found this rude. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE TO ANYONE! read more

I've been going there for years, and although the wait time can be long, I was probably one of those people who she kindly squeezed in her schedule because I had an eye emergency, and needed to see an eye doctor right away. You don't know what you've got until it's gone, and that goes for your vision too. If it wasn't for the doctor squeezing me into her schedule, I might not be seeing today. So although she and her staff had to spend a lot of unanticipated time with me, I left the office knowing I was going to be able to see again. I'd wait any amount of time to see a doctor as intelligent as Dr. Di Lorenzo and Dr. Lim, and that I know will always be there for me the whole way through. Although I think my average wait time is like around 15 minutes. read more

I had an eye emergency - a possible torn retina - and saw Dr. DiLorezo for the first time that day. She got me in within two hours and saw me the next day - a Saturday - at 6:30 A.M!!!!!! 6:30 A.M. on a SATURDAY. I was impressed. By noon that Saturday, Dr. D had gone out of her way (at a conference) to get me in to the retina guys at Beaumont that same afternoon. One thing I was especially happy about was that Dr. DiLorenzo LISTENS to what you are telling her. I found Dr. DiLorenzo to be one of the most caring and patient physicians I have ever seen. My personal doctor even goes to Dr. D. I did not see any issues with the staff. They were incredibly friendly and competent. I did wait awhile, but I expect to when I have my eyes dilated. read more

I was very happy with the outcome of my LASIK and had great confidence in Dr. DiLorenzo's skill. However, I echo the sentiment of the other reviews. The way this office is managed is unprofessional and not worth the hassle. The last time I was in there, the front desk ladies were uninterested in helping me schedule my next appointment and I was already late for work with the ridiculously long wait (sometimes over an hour even if you scheduled for the first appointment slot of the day, because you had that slot with multiple other people). One of the ladies said they'd call me to schedule my next appointment, but no one did. Granted, I should have called but I also got busy and completely forgot until it was more than three months after my surgery. The end result was that I did not get all of the follow-up appointments "required" and included in the price I paid for my LASIK. When I called to followup on what I should do next, the lady rudely told me that I wasn't "entitled" to anything and I could come back in for a check up at an additional cost. Absolutely no concern for how my eyes were doing even though I did not have the followups that were so important according to them. I told her I would find someone else to see going forward because I do not have time to wait for hours for a 10 minute visit with the doctor. read more

UPDATE: On Dec 3 (14 days later) I still had not received a call back from the office manager Pam. (I had called Nov 19 and left a voicemail. I also called November 20 and left a voicemail.) I called the office at 9:30 AM Dec 3 and left Pam a 3rd voicemail. Still have not heard back. I called the office again to complain and asked them to please have SOMEONE call me back by the end of the day to explain what is going on. I did not receive an apology nor did I receive a call back. Instead, I was treated rudely and cut off when I tried talking to the staff. On a side note: Dr. DiLorenzo is wonderful. read more

If you appreciate a doctor that is on time, then do not go to the practice. I arrived on time for my 10:30am appointment and waited an HOUR and had to ask the desk how much longer I had to wait. They told me that I was next in line and it'd be about 10 more minutes. I told them I was leaving. How can the doctors be running an hour behind that early in the morning? There were at least 10 people patiently waiting in the receptionist area for their appointments (granted they were all retirees so they probably have all the time in the world these days.) So as much as I like Dr. DiLorenzo and have gone to her the past two annual visits, I now have a little toddler at home and wasted money on a babysitter while having to sit in a waiting room. I think allotting 1.5 hrs for an appointment is reasonable, so you can understand why I was fed up after sitting patiently for an hour and still not getting into the exam room. Both doctors clearly schedule too many patients at a time. I've had to wait quite a while for my previous appointments, but sorry I draw the limit at an hour. read more
