Pearl is my go-to nail place. I always get an acrylic set done by Tony. He's absolutely awesome and is by far the best nail tech I've ever met. Everyone in the studio is super friendly, you're in great hands with them. All of my friends go to pearl to get their nails done and we've never had a bad experience. Worst polish ever. Pedicure trimming and filing was nice. Went for the callous and moisturizing wax. Apparently the oils were not adequately wiped from my toe nails, because 3 hours later, I have discovered the polish is gooey and "sliding" off my nails. It never dried even though I spent more than adequate time at the salon drying. Based on appearance I had paid, tipped well and left. I have to travel a number of miles each way again and invest more time to have someone reapply the polish. When I called to complain and rebook, they acted as though they were the ones being inconvenienced. They told me to walk in, refused to give me an appointment. Seriously! read more

Too busy watching the door and talking with the nail tech next to her complaining about how her Boss had made her do a pedi and she had a client coming in 15 mins! They weren't paying attention. Water from pedicure basin overflowed all over the floor. My tech left me in the middle of my service to do her other client. No lotion no massage no hot towel. Also they do not sanitize their implements for each client!!!!Very poor customer service. Spoke with manager/ owner and he took $5 off my $50 total(my total was higher because I get gel on my toes). No apology! I don't have much time for luxuries such as pedicures and really look forward to them. What a disappointment!!! read more

Nothing special here. Price points are average. Nail tech I had was pushy to get gel polish for my manicure. Flooded my cuticles and the job looks sloppy. My pedi was done by someone else and they did fantastic. Was told it would be a 15 minute wait, which turned into almost 45 minutes. Very frustrating considering I was there with my boyfriend and didn't get to relax with him, which was the main point for the trip. read more

I will not be going back to Pearl Nails & Spa. My mother and I went there to get our pedicures done and they had very bad customer service. We both got the "Signature pedicure" which included a detailed massage that we did not receive. We were both done from start to finish within about 15-20 minutes when this is supposed to be a 45 minute pedicure. Neither one of our women who did our pedicures spoke to us the entire time , only to eachother which came off very rude. I do not recommend this nail salon. read more

I always make a point to get a pedi here when I visit MD. It's clean and inviting. You can tell a lot of customers are regulars and have a great rapport with the staff. The pedicure massage chairs are awesome. That's always a pet peeve of mine when the massage chairs aren't very good. This is one of better nail salons I've been to in the DMV area overall. read more

My nail tech was great, he's the guy with the tattoos. I've been going since this salon started and have seen management change. They usually are really friendly but for the past 6 months they haven't been as customer friendly as before. The guy in the first booth on the left if you are facing the front desk is not as nice to the non-regular customers and or customers he may stereotype as those who look different than the normal clientele. This was my observation not my experience so reviewing from an objective lens. Nonetheless still not cool to treat some different than others. read more

Today I went to Pearl Nails for the 2nd time. It's not the most convenient salon to my home, but when I'm in this area, I really like this small salon. The man who owns the salon is very pleasant. Today I had a manicure, my eyebrows waxed, and a Pearl Deluxe Pedicure. Tiffany performed all 3 services, and each was fantastic. She really took her time and showed real care in her work. The pedicure was amazing - many special steps, including a paraffin foot treatment that was warm and purple and great. The massage that followed the leg/foot treatments was long and very well done - good technique, especially when she bumped my heels with her fists - that felt great! She noticed that earlier I had accidentally messed up some of my fingernails and without my asking she removed the polish from those and re-did each fresh. They really do a nice job. I was calling around for a spa for me and my girlfriend. I called here and spoke with some guy who claimed he was the manager. He was very gruff over the phone. When I asked for the manager to voice my complaint, he said that this was a business and that I should not call here again because he thought I was harassing him. I've always looked at this nail shop passing through Edgewater to Annapolis and said one day I will go in there. I did and I am so pleased. The customer service is excellent and it is evident they have a great rapport with their customers. I've only been to this salon twice and just observed and listened and it made me feel comfortable. I am a very big on customer service so it was refreshing to see that people had care and concern for their clientele. Great job seriously. read more

Terrible service. There was a group of four of us who called the day before to schedule all four for manicure/pedicure. Three of us were completely finished before they even started on the fourth. She waited two hours with gel remover on her nails which really screwed them up, and was late for her hair appointment at 4pm which was across the street. They were not that busy and started working on other people who were walk ins, and others who had later appointment times before her. We had to wait over 45 minutes for them to complete her nails after ours were already done. Zero apology. Never coming here again. read more

A very sparse choice of colors, but today, I was actually treated badly, and when I asked why the price was higher than normal, I was told that I had a bad attitude. I've stopped here twice, first time I had a very pushy manicurist who wouldn't give me a break until I agreed to get a more expensive pedicure and gel manicure instead of regular polish. Overall average experience. Second visit I just went in for a gel manicure, when I got there I was told a 10-15 minute wait which I was fine with but then resulted in a 35 minute wait. Normally this wouldn't be an issue I would have just appreciated knowing ahead of time. I then asked a question about the color I was getting asking if the pink was see thru or sheer. I was told no and then after two coats I left with spotty and not very pretty nails. Would have appreciated honesty or a 3rd coat of polish. read more

Today I went to Pearl Nails and I thought it was great! The colors were very pretty and they used sanitized tools. I got the gel manicure and a normal pedicure. It was my first gel and they did a great job! Some things turned me off and the most annoying was that the lady doing my nails didn't talk to me. It was very awkward because she would stop in the middle of my manicure to call someone. She was constantly on her phone and it was so annoying. My friend got a very chatty guy and I would join there conversations. I noticed that this lady was sitting in the waiting room for about 30 minutes! She did not have an appointment and I did not either but I still got my nails done. She ended making an appointment for the next day! Otherwise I think it was great and a fun experience! read more

So,This was my 5th time here. I don't live in the area at the moment, my boyfriend does and when I come to stay with him and need my nails done, i have gone here. I tried another place down on Mayo Drive.They were good but they nickel and dimed me for everything and I hate that! So,I tried Pearl because I had noticed them when I went to Starbucks.The first 4 times I went here, I was happy. So,I walked in and asked for a fill with gel polish and a pedicure. I was taken pretty much right away. I picked my color and went back first for my pedicure. The girl did my pedicure in 20 minutes! Very rushed! But I was getting annoyed because 3 times she stopped what she was doing and looked at her cell phone! Then we moved on to my nails.She took about 5-10 min. to come over to me as she walked around from the back area. Maybe she was sneaking a bite to eat or talking to someone.she finally comes over to me. She didn't talk to me at all and wasn't friendly. I tried to break the ice by telling her I liked her shirt.Then later I brought up the weather but still, she didn't want to be friendly. Now she continued to stop her work and look at her cell phone 4 diffrerent times while doing my nails! In the mean time, I had gotten a few texts but I didn't want to be rude or interfere with her work so I chose not to look at my phone, even tho she continued to be rude to me and continually stopped to look at hers. It's been over a week now and my nails are still good but, she stoped 7 times to look at her phone while I was with her, never once saying excuse me or explained if she had some sort of emergency. This was just her world being more important then her job and me! Not to mention, with 7 interruptions and my bill being $65.00 before tip, I was out of there in 1 hour exactly! I own my own Salon and Spa where I live and I realize the difference between going to a regular salon or spa and a asian place. For the price, they do quicker work and are not as pampering and use cheaper products and don't always speak our language. So one knows what to expect at theses places and I accept that. But honestly, this wasn't cheaper then going to a real salon! And I don't need the out right rudness! For $65.00 (and I gave her a good tip because I'm in the business but not as much as I normally would.) I normally give $20-$25 and I gave $16.00 which is still probably more then the average. So for a one hour rush job,7 cell phone interruptions and no friendliness at all,I'm not sure I will go back! I may move here in the near future and I will definitely be spending more time here so I will try a new place next time. And If I do return, I will make sure I do not get her! HER NAME WAS Nu! I'm upset that there is no management watching their work to make sure they are doing their job. Also,I may add that it wasn't even busy there at this time. I used to love this place but during my most recent trip, I've realized how terrible the customer service is. I made an appointment a few days prior for me, my sister, and my mom. We came in on time, and got taken back 30 minutes late. Nobody asked me what type of pedicure I wanted, so there was no hot wax, hot towels, nothing. The man doing my feet wouldn't even say a word to me, except when he told me to move out of my chair. Couldn't even sit with my family. He also finished doing my feet like twenty minutes before my sister and mom. Altogether we spent more time waiting than we did actually getting a pedicure. Another lady walked in while we were waiting and asked about one of her favorite employees, and they rudely shouted "come back later". Disappointing experience. Very friendly and accommodating. The youthful staff are helpful in selecting and matching colors. The salon offers a wide variety. Before Easter my grand daughter requested a "bunny" on her toe & she absolutely loved the end-result. Very disappointed. First time there, went for a pedicure and gel manicure. My pedicure was first. He hardly did any scrubbing and was not consistent with both feet. One foot gets scrabbling of the heel, the other did not. One foot gets a little massage the other did not. As for my gel manicure. I asked not to file down the nails especially the sides. He did it anyway. When it came to the polish both on my feet and hands. I only got one coat. Regardless of it being gel. I have gone to many places and have always gotten two coats. Needless to say my polish did ku last very long at all. Will not be back! read more

Had a gift certificate from last year, only to be told that the new owner will not accept it...even though the gift certificate states the same business name, address, phone number. VERY POOR BUSINESS PRACTICES. Essentially money was stolen from us, because the gift certificate would not be honored. Will follow up with BBB and small claims court. read more
