I was SO EXCITED to try this mochi cart as I've been suckered into it from all the social media I've seen. Unfortunately, my family and I were so disappointed.
1. The cart can be hard to find as the lady who runs it has her own schedule, but she is usually infront the the Tangram mall. Lady is super nice so don't get that mixed up.
2. The cart is outside, so there can be a ton of people waiting or just walking, it's Flushing.
3. Not sure if it was just my batch or what, but our mochi was lumpy and not even chewy or flavorul. Maybe it was not pounded and cooked enough and we had a bad batch. Not sure where all the great reviews are coming from but I wish we had a good batch like they did.
4. Even though the mochi was not great in texture and flavor, it as hoping the toppings she added would give it the sweetness and flavor. It did not, it tasted like water and just eating uncooked mochi.
I hope it was just a bad batch but I dont think I would try again. They were $5 for like 20 pieces I believe and could be worth it if it tasted better. read more
