At first a as a frequent visitor and now as a part time resident of Vail Valley. Last week we stopped in and I bought a pair of hiking boots and my wife picked up a few things. Without looking closely at them except for size we walked out. Once home the $80.00 sweater had a spot on it. (Inexpensive item but it was cute). When we tried to return it exchange the young salesman with a beard said my wife had worn it even though it had the tag still on it. He clearly stated she was a liar and nothing could be done. We emailed the owners Mike and Mary who know my wife by sight when they see her. No response so far. You decide if you want to shop at a store where the young employees are so poorly trained that they insult their customers. After many years and thousands of dollars, we will shop at home or on line for the things that we use to go out of our way to support local business. We will never set foot in this store again. I had tried to try on a pair of Sorel boots - but it took far too long for someone to come out from the back to assist me. After explaining I needed to return to work so if I could simply purchase the boots now, and return them if the size didn't fit - the worker happily agreed. She even offered to "recycle my box for me"! Thinking that was kind, I agreed. LESS THAN 3 hours later on my 15 minute break, I returned to the store to ask to exchange my boots for a 1/2 size smaller - after which the SAME worker pointed to a sign next to their register stating "NO returns will be accepted without the original box". ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I cannot make this stuff up!!! Please AVOID the Edwards location of the Vail Boot & Shoe at ALL costs!

When I went in, there were a couple of employees chatting it up with a customer. So I wandered the store, and had my eyes open by some of the merchandise that they carry: namely, those helmets and goggles that were priced for millionaires and billionaires (see photos). I started chuckling when I peeked at the price-tags. They did not have anything that I was looking for, and in any case, in the 10+ minutes I was in the store, not a single person came up to greet me. Maybe I should have sprayed on some eau de baller?
