I always make it a point to come here each time I come to Vail. Whether it's a skiing or snowboarding gear you want, there's tons here at a fraction of the price for new. And this is high end thrift shopping, folks. Spyder, Obermeyer, Nils, Burton, and more... but ski pants average $40 and jackets about the same. I went there looking for ski pants for my kids and potentially myself given that they are located so close to ski slopes. I'm from Indiana and they're not a common item in thrift stores there. I've thrifted ALL over Colorado and the prices here are just very high. There was limited men and kids items But quite a bit of furniture, electronics and women's clothing. As with thrift, it's what get donated. read more

The options seemed overpriced. Some of the brands could be found at TJ Maxx for less than what they were charging. But if you were in a pinch you could find anything you needed without having to spend top dollar at the local name brand stores or boutiques. read more

They sell stuff that doesn't work then won't take returns. The little Asian guy is a total prick and so is the Hispanic girl. They started yelling at me and swearing when I said it was wrong they won't take back returns. They proceeded to tell me to buy new things if I want them to work. They over charge for donated items. 10 years ago . This thrifty had skis , boots , expensive jackets. Anything and everything barely used for dirt cheap. It really was a great deal. Local shopping spot. Then everyone moved here it got ruined everything is triple the price . Not really a deal. They are out of things as soon as they come In they are sold. It's just changed In a major way along with the valley itself. Not the same as it was. Used to be you can afford to live here a studio was $1,000 a month and we thought it was high back then. Now rent is out of control nowhere to live over populated. Air bnb all over. Back to thrifty not the same as it was. Really sad actually. read more

Employees and manager are pretty rude. I came in to buy 3 golf clubs and exchange one I bought last week. I wanted them to credit one of the clubs for the one I bought last week that doesn't hit well for one of the clubs today. I pointed out the math but they didn't understand that getting 40 dollars more out of me today was a smart business decision considering all of the clubs they received were free. Spent $20 last week. Was going to spend $40 more today for 3 clubs if they just had let me switch one of them out for the one I bought last week. I ended up leaving with only the bad club I bought last week. I've spent hundred of am dollars on golf clubs here in the past but will not spend one more penny at this business since they are incapable of making smart business exceptions. I won't validate or support stupidity in business. If this thrift shop had to compete on any level with a regular business they would go under with how rude they are. read more

(same as Vail Valley Cares) I used to love this place. I could get good deals, but now it is crazy expensive. yes, you can find good deals and stuff, but ok glass vases for $6. That is too high in my mind, or shoes for $40. I still go, because there isn't else much around, but I am bummed and sad that a framed pictures runs around $40. Good clothing selection. Still worth the try, but more frustrating than I would like. I am going to drive up to Leadville for deals. Still nice staff, high turnover of product because this is the land of the rich who just toss stuff. Good for us. read more

Great spot for women's clothing and household items, especially artwork and gently used furniture. Things turn over quickly, and are one of a kind, so it's a spot that you want to check in often. Lots of designer name brands and ski gear as well. read more

Very nice surprise. I was not expecting much when we started looking for thrift stores around Avon, so this store was a nice surprise. As with most thrift stores, it is a mixed bag. Some of the items my husband and I picked up were a screamin' deal, some were okay, and some items we left for other shoppers to take home. There is a little bit for everyone (ski gear, clothing, books, household items, jewelry, artwork, biking items, etc.) and a friend of ours managaged to nearly outfit an apartment with finds he found (dining set, furniture, etc.) at less-than-consignment-store pricing. read more

They get free items from the community, then turn around and charge try to charge 65% (or more) of the original retail price. But, the locals have no other choice. All of the Sherpas there are walking around in the best gear that they get, then they turn around and try to tell you that an old box spring will cost you $35. These guys are raking in Millions per year, under the guise of a community oriented business..........Par for the course in the Vail Valley. read more

Love this place, clean and well organized. Super nice selection of high-end clothing that is rotated between the two shops, so always new stuff. Tag system in place shows what new, what's been there a awhile and because so, is cheaper than marked. A rarity to find items that shouldn't have made the cut. The furniture however, is way over-priced and beat up, but they know the transient nature of the valley and how that crowd will pay up. They always have beds, which just grosses me out to no end. Lastly, please avoid bartering with these people, a lot of whom are volunteers, because all proceeds go to locals in need of charity. You really need two bucks off an eight dollar pair of jeans? Crazy story, I was there this afternoon, early in the afternoon, I found a couch that I loved that even had a pull out bed, I put it on hold and they said I had two hours to call them back and confirm if I'd like to buy it or not I said I needed to measure and I will call soon. But by the time I got home I received a work phone call and I missed the time I was supposed to call them by about an hour. I called them and alas it had already sold to someone else, I frequent thrifty shops especially this one and accepted that likely it wasn't meant to be. I returned to the store later on in the afternoon with my children so that my daughter could look at some of the dresses that were on sale, when I was there and we are checking out I said to the woman if by any chance they don't come to pick it up or change their mind please let me know, she said that they did already pay for it and they had until tomorrow at 6 o'clock to come pick it up. While I was paying for things I had found she got a phone call, it was the man who had bought the couch saying that it was too big and he couldn't take it and could he please get his money back she turned to me said do you still want it because they don't want it anymore, I said yes, And now we have an awesome awesome new couch! We always find amazing things at this thrift shop, it's been the source of many great fines over the years! read more

This place was amazing for many reasons! First the way the staff treated me and their helpfulness went above and beyond anything I could have possibly expected. Without going into to much detail the staff helped me through a very difficult situation and I couldn't be more greatful! On top of this the value this shop has in it's merchandise is incredible. I purchased a pair of ski gloves and a helmet at a fraction of the cost of purchasing them new. Lots of cool stuff. The assortment changes frequently. The employees are nice and helpful. Some customers that witnessed were exceptionally rude to the employees which is entirely unnecessary. This is great shop that does good in the community. read more

Love this place. I always shop here for used gold equipment. Sometimes but not always you come across a deal on a driver, putter etc that is just incrediable. The driver I have in my bag right now I paid $75 for and if I would of bought it in a pro shop would hit the $450 range. Not always will you find the good stuff but I would recommend stopping by if you are in town. read more

Vail Valley Thrift in Edwards are completely out of touch with what a charitable organization should exemplify. Their prices are way too high on almost everything. They have a no refund or exchange policy so if you get something home and notice it is damaged they won't do anything about it. I will be giving all my donations to the Eagle Valley Community Fund. They accept donations year round at Maloit Park in Minturn. This is the way to go! read more
