He even brought out a couple of packs of roof shingles and got up on the roof to lay them out so that we could decide which we liked best. Tom handled scheduling, and was pleasant and communicated well. The crew showed up exactly when promised. The installation was similarly excellent. The crew came to the house early and worked late to get the job done in just a couple of days. They had folks picking up materials and using magnetic poles to catch nails all around the house from when they started, so the yard was clean. They laid down tarps over bushes to keep any debris from getting on them. We're not roofing experts, but watching them put the new roof up we are very confident in the quality of the work, as they seemed meticulous. In a couple of places they detected rotten wood sheathing and just cut it out and replaced it - no upsell, no discussion, just did the right thing. The entire experience was professional and low stress. We'd recommend Longhorn Roofing without hesitation.

From day 1 they have been nothing but amazing to work with. They met with our insurance adjuster to ensure he got every detail of damage that could be seen on the surface, walked us through different roofing options, ensured they had the preferred shingle color in stock, scheduled the job and met and exceeded that date. I was blown away they had the job completed in 5 hours, they did an amazing job and pristine cleanup after. Used an experienced 11 man crew which made all the difference and the project manager was onsite a majority of the time. Found out the last roofer cut some corners so they had to remove 2 layers of felt and replace wood rot due to it, they contacted our insurance on our behalf to get additional funds for the extra labor/materials required. We didn't notice any problem until after all the rain over the 4th of July when we noticed two water spots on our ceiling. We worked with Michael to do a "tune up" on our roof about 2 years ago, so I called him and he came out and inspected our roof. He provided me with two PDFs, one with photos of hail damage to our house and one containing weather details of hail impact in our area. Armed with his documentation I filed a claim with my insurance. Michael was present for the inspection by the insurance adjuster and we were approved on the spot for a new roof. I believe Michaels documentation and presence for the inspection worked in our favor, we went in with our guns loaded. Our project involved 1) exterior repair and painting 2) new roof 3) interior ceiling repair and painting. We had trim and siding that was rotted or damaged by critters, including the chimney which was the source of our leaks. Exterior repairs were made and the house painted. Then the roof was replaced. Finally the water spots were cut out of the ceiling, insulation fell through and was removed, sheetrock replaced and painted, and new insulation brought in to replace the old. The ceiling repairs were important to us because we were concerned about mold. The whole project was completed within about a month of the insurance inspection and claim approval. Michael was involved throughout the entire process. He patiently answered my questions, we made a few tweaks along the way, and he made sure work was done correctly. I couldn't be happier with the result. It was a pleasure working with him and I have great peace of mind knowing that the job was done right. During the recent flooding in Texas, I noticed water running down the vent stack roof penetration…read more We shined a flashlight up the vent chase and saw wet framing and water streaming down the vent. They failed to properly seal the roof jack! Because of this, we had to open up the wall, tear out my entire bathroom floor and let it dry out for 3 or 4 days. I had to have another roofer fix & properly seal the roof jack costing more money. The bathroom floor had to be partially rebuilt. Despite the fact that this has been documented with pictures and backed up by expert testimony from a professional contractor, fair claims roofing refused to accept responsibility. The damage resulted in nearly $7000 cost I had to pay. I was just asking for a refund of the $4900 I had paid them for the roof. They wouldn't even concede a penny! Since I hired them through Home Advisor, I filed a dispute through them, thinking I might get some satisfaction there. I didn't. NOT because I wasn't right. I was and I had plenty of proof. They had diddly squat. But, they simply refused to cooperate and declined arbitration. Subsequently, they are no longer a member in good standing with Home Advisor. But, that doesn't help me in the least. So, if you have ever wondered what Home Advisor will do to help should anything go wrong with one of their so-called pros, the answer is very little and they're not very pleasant to deal with for the most part. I say you are much better off trusting Yelp reviews. At least they are mostly honest and they don't make empty promises of vetting and standing behind their recommendations.
